By my wife: I've been a long time customer of Julie's. Just went today and found out she sold the business 3 weeks ago and will be selling the Little Neck location as well. She's planning on opening 1 larger place in Syosset. The new owner, Nichole seemed nice and gave me a small gift after introducing herself. Right now, for winter, they have a 10 dollar discount on spa pedi services. The old menu on the wall was painted over and new pricing wasn't displayed (yet?). I paid $51 for a regular Mani and spa pedi today minus tips. read more

They did a good job with the nails. The manicure rushed a little bit by applying cuticle oil to one nail and taking her finger to apply to the rest. It was clean and they had a lot of colors to choose from. Monday to Wednesday is a $30 manicure and pedicure deal. They take Venmo and Cash App. The manicure did not last more than a day. :( The color changing nail polish did not change color. read more

Sooo ever since my last review, I've continued coming to this place and seeing Liliana. I was kinda hesitating writing about how great she is because everyone would want to book her. Past review: Sooo I'm a spoiled brat when it comes to getting my nails done because a family member is a licensed nail technician and comes to over to do my nails. Hence why I never got to nail salons. However, this week I had no choice but to step out into the scary world of nail salons. I decided to give this place a try based on its review and convenient location. Price: super cheap $25 for mani and pedi on weekend Hygiene: so they use individual files and buffer per client; (this is great). They also use the clear cover and a packet of salts per client. I only saw one set of cutting/clipping tools which I'm hoping were sanitized prior (I try really hard not to be a crazy person). However, I have been to places that sanitize the tool sets and open them for each client, everyone should do this even if they charge more. Service: called in advance, was able to get an apt within an hour. Upon entering was greeted immediately. My pedicure could've been better, I've def had better and don't mind paying more for a "not rushed"pedicure. My manicure was done by someone else, I believe her name was Liliana, she was super friendly and attentive. Overall, I will give this place another chance because there are minimal things I would change. Next time I'll bring my own tools which I should've done and I'll most likely ask for Lilianna for the pedicure. Let's see what happens! read more

Also I asked for a specific design beforehand and then once it came to do it Lily said that she couldn't which I wish I knew before my nails were set. This shop is so close to me and I wish it worked out but I've been a few times and I personally haven't been fully satisfied but it seems others go regularly. read more

I started getting my nails done for the first time in July, but wanted to find a location that was affordable and at a relatively close distance from me. I decided to give Julie's Nails a try and was not disappointed! In the two times I have gone, the COVID 19 measures are in place (temp checks, hand sanitizer, etc.), the salon is clean (use new packs of sanitized tools, fresh towels, etc.), and the staff is attentive. Awesome nail salon! I just got a pedicure and a gel manicure and they did a tremendous job! They used disponible nail filers and the equipment they use to clean your nails are individually packed and sterilized. My daughter went with me and they even painted her nails for free. Thank you! I haven't had a pedicure in almost 2 years since I had a baby and then COVID hit ... when I called I was greeted with a friendly worker. It meant a lot because many of the other places I had called did not make me feel comfortable inquiring a last minute appointment. The service I went with was a spa pedicure. My tech literally worked on my feet to make them pretty again. Zero judgement in this salon! I felt self conscious because of how my toes looked .... My appt was at 1:00 PM and I finished at 2:00 PM. Yesterday, I went to Julie's with my sister and we both got gel pedicures. However I got a French color gel manicure, and my sister got a powder dip manicure with 3 tips (due to her nails being very weak). For one, we had an appointment at 5pm, and they were ON POINT! we were in that pedicure chair and soaking out old gel polish off within minutes of entering. We were welcomed warmly & they knew exactly what services we wanted, as we told them over the phone, but they log it with each appt! That was amazing to us. For me, I have a toe that's always giving problems and my pedicurist was an ANGEL. she spent at least 15 mins working on cleaning and prepping my feet for my gel polish, it was so relaxing & i felt clean and so pampered! the foot massages are to die for, so I'm returning for that!! My sister is EXTREMELY ticklish, and her pedicurist ensured that she was gentle enough as to not get roundhouse kicked by my sister while scrubbing her feet. After all of that and we were gel polished up and ready to go get manicures, we were walked over to a table side by side where we got our manicures. I have to say, my manicurist was FANTASTIC. She worked with my vision of coffin shaped natural nails and did a French gel atop it. absolutely amazing and I love how strong they feel and NOT thick like other places I've gone to. All in all, our nails came out to $167 for my sister and myself. Now the only problem I have is that this was done yesterday at 5pm. It's currently 12:25pm, and I'm seeing the gel lift by my nail bed of two of my fingers on the left hand. I called Julie's and they said to come in at 630pm so that they can fix it for me, so let's see how it goes! EDIT: I went to Julies, and called a bit earlier, and they let me come in at 6pm to take care of my nails. I had Maria, the same tech as the day before and she was kind & sweet enough to take off my top coat, buff my polish and redo the top coat on ALL 10 fingers!!!! I only had this issue with 2 of my nails, but they went above and beyond to make sure i was happy with everything! Thank you again read more

The service of manicure is good specially Lili, she did such a really good job on my pedi, I got gel manicure and Julie did it, it was okay, I just wish she were more detailed, I told her my nails were for my wedding and she started to pay more attention. I called for appointment yesterday and they started right away but you can also come anytime they will help you depending on what time you come. There's a suggested tip ( at least 15% o the service charge), you can pay by card as well and if you tip them with card they'll charge you $2. the price is good after all. read more

Was looking for a early pedicure on a Saturday a few months back and found this gem. I forgot to take a card and did some digging on my bank statement to find it again! So worth it. Today I was surprised with a jelly pedi instead of water, not sure if this is new because it's been a while. But I love it here. Found a new favorite! I have gotten my nails done before a few times and usually get it done with the technician Kathy, usually gel or powder, yesterday I wanted to just get a regular manicure/pedicure. Apparently Kathy doesn't work there anymore so they gave me Clara for a pedicure and she did a good job and listened to where my problems were for a particular nail. I recommend Clara for pedicures. Julie herself did my manicure, and her attitude first of all was off (maybe bad day idk) first she buffed off my previous gel and it burned my nails a lot maybe i have sensitive nails but she was very roughy, then she shaped my nails and they were uneven and sharp still, did not give the mini back rub to me, and then did not check when my drying was finished, i wanted her to just check to make sure it dried ok and she just said "be careful its regular manicure" and then I was on my was out and shes like "no tip?!?!" And i completely forgot that was my fault bc i was so distracted with her poor work so anyway then I venmo the tip and as i was leaving she asked "u venmo or cash app?" I'm 40 weeks pregnant and wanted a good pedicure place that was clean and gave good massages. I called on a Sat morning and was able to grab an appointment right away. Even though they squeezed me in, my pedicure wasn't rushed and I felt that I was well taken care of. My original tech wasn't great (I think she was new) but the owner remedied that by coming over and giving me a great massage and taking care of me herself. I would give Julie and her "salon" ZERO STARS if I yewould allow me to. I don't normally write reviews but in this case I feel I must. I have been going to Julie's nails in Oakland Gardens for over a year now. Every time I walk in there, the owner, Julie has nothing but a poor attitude with me. She acts as though she is doing me a favor for seeing me. I put up with it cause she does a descent job on my mani/pedi. But that ship has sailed, she has pushed boundaries beyond belief. Long story short, I made an appointment with her always in advance and came in at the assigned time. Immediately, she set me up with another employee to get my services done. I told her Julie I was very clear with you when I had called that I wanted both the manicure and pedicure done with you. She copped her usual attitude and said that anyone can do it. She and I both know this is never the case with me, I come specifically to see her. She was busy with another customer, so I said Julie you tell me when is a good time to get a mani and pedi with you, so I can come back. So we decided the next day at 6:30. I arrived at my appointment at 6:15 and waited for her to finish up with her other customer. No big deal at all. It took her a little longer to finish her manicure and by the time she got to me it was 6:40. Still no big deal, I understand things often can go longer then expected. She did my manicure and pedicure and I sat down to dry my nails. 5 min into drying she said you have to leave we are closing. I said Julie I need a few min my nails aren't dry. She said too bad we are closing you have to go. Just be careful. Be Careful, I replied....How can you possibly be careful with wet nails? I have to put my jacket on, drive home, cook dinner and walk my hyper but lovable dog. I asked politely if I could wait it out for a few more minutes so I don't ruin the manicure. To my dismay, she looked at me, laughed in my face and said I don't tip well. I was astonished and disgusted by this statement. I actually pride myself on tipping. I tip 25% of the service which I believe to be not only adequate but generous. There was really no need for me to explain myself or my tipping as she is running a business that relies on word of mouth. So here's my word of mouth, she is a rude and disgusting person to deal with. I can't imagine how she retains customers with her callous demeanor, childish behavior and offensive insults. For this reason alone, I don't recommend spending a minute of your time or a hard-earned dollar on this trash can of a salon read more

Profiled. I have been going to this nail salon for about a year. I've always paid my tip via card or cash if I had cash on hand. Recently, I've paid using Zelle to send to the owner. Today after my service was paid for I told the owner Julie I would Zelle her the tip. As I put on my coat and started to walk toward the door to my car to send the money via Zelle I was stopped and asked to pay it now- no explanation was given. I asked why and Julie gave me an excuse that didn't make any sense something about the gel company not accepting the Zelle and Zelle having an issue. At this point I was like oh she's playing the race card. Had she said "I'm having issues with Zelle would you mind paying before you leave" I would have never felt indifferent. I stayed and paid the tip which I shouldn't have with that disgusting treatment. When I got home, I called to speak to Julie and explained her words and actions hurt my feelings. She refused to apologize and even said to me "I don't think this is a big deal". I couldn't believe that an adult and owner of a shop couldn't acknowledge how her words and actions made me feel as a returning customer or just as a person! I told her "it's not what you say but how you say it" you know the saying you say to children!? Then she said "well you pay the tip inside because you pay for service inside". Umm my service was paid for this was all for a TIP! At that point I knew I would never return as a customer! Horrible customer service. A woman of color left the salon and said aloud to everyone "have a nice weekend" and I was the only one that said something in return.
