It's simultaneously impressive and comprehensive. There are prepared sandwiches and sandwiches to order, soup, chips wine, bread, sausages, and a deli (hence the name). If this sounds like a love, letter it is. I was driving to Yorktown, and I'm inside of Frankie's Deli. I'm a better man for it. Thank You and Goodnight

I spoke to one of the owners and explained myself and he said it's not his problem and we do not want you to come here and hanged up the phone to me. What a Customer service the owners has imagine there workers. I went there three times to buy my italian sub and wanted to pick my own lunch meat and told the Hispanic worker to cut it in half. Guess what he didn't do it and laughed at me. I gave them another chance with my cheese and now that's it. This was he cherry on top. Hopefully this deli goes out of business soon. What a joke! Talked to the owners, who are just the people you want there to be in the world. They gave us a little sample of hot corned beef while we waited for the magic. Melt in your mouth deckle, after battling chewy or tough fat from other places, felt like my long-lost love coming home from the sea. We ate the sandwich in the car and talked about how great it was to have a beloved food item that was just perfection, like knowing there was something out there in the world that would always make you happy. 10/10, no notes. The pickles plucked on the strings of my heart, thinking about the old pickle barrels from The Milk Pail and other places long gone. "Next time I see you I'll be looking at you." We'll be back soon.

As someone who is not a fan of pastrami or corned beef , I went in thinking I was going to do a Turkey breast sandwich. Nope! The service was top tier and warmth and friendliness and they make you feel like you've stopped in to visit with family for a bite.

The place itself is incredibly inviting, all warm wood, cozy corners, very Bavarian lodge meets Polish soul. It was busy and buzzing, and Polish was the main language at nearly every table... except ours, which was happily bilingual in Spanish. It felt authentic, lively, and full of life. The service was friendly, fun, and patient, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm. We shared a feast: pelmeni, Highlander-style pork shank, kiszka, Real Man's Meatballs (Męskie Klopsiki), and other delicious goodness that made the table groan (in the best way). Every dish was hearty, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. It was also my birthday, and just when I thought the night couldn't get better, the staff surprised me with dessert and sang Happy Birthday in Polish. I loved it. Big smiles, full heart. The food was so good that I stayed behind afterward to order takeout for my husband, stuffed cabbage (gołąbki) and pierogi, because sharing joy is important... and leftovers are sacred. U Gazdy isn't just a meal, it's an experience. One that fills your belly, warms your spirit, and makes you want to come back hungry.

I was disappointed that you cannot get blintzes or pierogis during the week, but what we did try was very good: Cabbage rolls (be sure to ask for sauce) - Pretty flavorful, although if I'm being honest I think the cabbage rolls at the Polish Delicatessen in Glendale Heights are better. Vegetable soup - Soooo good and affordable too. Much better than anything you can get at the store, even in their deli departments. Potato pancakes - The single best potato pancakes we've ever had. So much flavor! I want more just thinking about them. I'm looking forward to coming back on the weekend so we can try the blintzes and pierogi. Visit date: 10/24
