We had the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was small pieces of fried chicken by the way....very different. We also had andouille sausage fried rice, fried catfish basket with Cajun fries, fried shrimp basket, noodles with garlic sauce on the side, side order of corn on the cob, and beignets for dessert. It was a lot of food for just two people and all of it was good. I suggest ordering the noodles with any sauce on the side and add it as you want for taste. It can be overwhelming to have all at once. It's a party inside the building. Great music always with a loud beat and everyone is in great spirits. There was a choir celebrating a birthday party in the back room and their vocals filled up the place. Come to eat and be filled with good energy! There's plenty of parking too even if you need to walk a few yards away.

She took our order and the two ppl next to us and then disappeared . We got our orders pretty quick, I got the seafood bread and oysters, they were very good...surprisingly. But guess what we DIDNT see our server again for about 20 min! I then ordered the $25 holla (it was good) shrimp was spicy, crab legs were just as good our water was never refilled nor were we asked if we wanted another drink. After 6 pm we asked for our check ( that took another 15 min as she jokes with her friends) Ww were there for over 1 1/2 hours and only saw here 3 times ! The food was REALLY good, hot and filling...but the service was lacking 90%. Not to mention that it's wasn't even busy!!! Cajun Boil please do better

I had some of their cajun pasta and calamari, both were quite small serving sizes for their price. What put me off was adding shrimp to the pasta for 5.99 only to be given exactly five pieces of shrimp. The pasta had nothing cajun about it and served on a big plate to look bigger than it is, far too big for the small table! The pasta itself was nice, however it tasted like grocery store jar alfredo sauce. And the restaurant had far too loud music for so little people there, couldn't even talk properly to the server or family despite sitting so close on a tiny table. Would not recommend

A…read morelong time ago, in my mid to late 20s era, we would order seafood boil for Father's Day so this was very nostalgic for me. I've seen the sign for Sea Shack from Route 59 and finally got to try it when my sister was visiting Naperville. I called in an order and it was ready in 15 minutes. What we ordered for 3 adults: 1 lb peeled shrimp, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb black mussels, mild, + corn + potatoes 1 lb clams, mild 1 corn on the side 1 sausage on the side onion rings chicken tenders and fries 2 orders of rice We had plenty of food and enough for leftovers. My favorite part might be the cajun butter sauce with white rice... even more than the seafood. I love white rice with basically any sauce. The food was fresh, the sauce was mild as requested, still flavorful and not too salty. If you order the clams on its own, no sides, the bag might seem a little small but that's just because the clam meat is so small. For takeout, your seafood will come double bagged so it was leak proof. We decided to empty the bags into bowls since we were doing family style, and it was a hearty meal. I can't comment on the ambiance since it was a takeout order, but we enjoyed our food. We'll be back!

Good prices with many selections even if you aren't into seafood including pasta and tacos. The only thing is the seafood needs to be cooked with a lil crab boil or seasoning for additional flavor on the actual crab, etc ... I had 2 bags.... 1-jumbo crab clusters (they actual look like regular snow crab) , 1lb. shrimp, 1/2 lb green mussels (beautiful size and plump), 2 regular crab clusters, and 1/2 lb crawfish. Most importantly you get corn and potatoes in your bag. A perfect amount of food even if you are not a huge eater. Great drink options also.

I enjoyed the pickles, good size, fresh each, breaded perfectly. Our entree consisted of garlic noodles, shrimp, snow crab, corn on the cob, and potatoes. We tried the crab da jour seasoning hott! I thought everything was delicious, plenty of shrimp, there was enough to take home, fresh, tasty food . Melrose park has a gem. Service was very good, attentive. Some customers will have an issue with the service fee included on their bills but I thought it was worth it. Definitely worth the trip

I looked up highly rated Vietnamese restaurants and found Tasty House 1 in Carol Stream. This place is everything we anticipated it to be. The location is nice and has parking in front, inside is super spacious and had a relaxing and breathable ambiance. We ordered a family appetizer platter that came with all the delicious Vietnamese appetizers like: spring rolls, bbq marinated meat, fried eggrolls, grilled jumbo shrimp, meat wrapped in betel leaf, lettuce, noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, daikon, jalapeños, two dipping sauces: peanut butter hoisin and Vietnamese fish sauce. Another appetizer we got separately was the fried calamari which had a great crunchy texture, the absolute best! For our entrees I decided to build my own pho and chose tripe, rib eye steak and quail eggs. My husband got the spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue). This is honestly the best Vietnamese we've ever had in our lives!!!! I'm so glad I found this place. Awesome service, food and atmosphere. Zero complaints everything was very fresh and perfect. Our hearts left super happy.

There is a separate vegan menu with half a dozen things on it, and other than the drinks and desserts, pretty much nothing on the regular menu is vegetarian. (The papaya salad, which is on the vegan menu, is a ringer: it contains fish sauce.) You've got your choice of various fruit lemonades, bubble teas, popping bubble teas, jellies, etc. Desserts include flan, Vietnamese yogurt, coconut jelly - none of which you'll be eating onsite as you'll be too full after your entree. Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people. All of whom were happy.
