Had our annual Summer party for 35. The Polish Pickle was amazing. Food was hot and delicious. Great service, reasonable prices.

Stopped by yesterday, first visit since ownership changed. Still a great store, lots of Polish packaged goods, lots of different pierogi, good selection of Polish and American cold cuts, various brands of rye bread and other baked goods. Seems like they no longer serve hot prepared foods (none on display) and a smaller selection of cakes and cookies. Counter service was fast and friendly. Street parking only. Three steps at entrance. We purchased some frozen apple pierogi ($9.99), rye bread ($4.50), cheese babka ($9.99), and a filled doughnut ($2.50) called a Paczki. The Paczki was an oversized doughnut filled with prune jam and topped with citron - I would buy again for sure. The cheese babka was excellent. The rye was from the Lithuanian Baking Co - we have had their breads before and are always pleased. We will be back. This deli is less than five minutes drive from the Manville WalMart. read more

Great variety of Kielbasa and Pierogis! Many of the cold cuts are fresh roasted and delicious! The prepared foods are also quite good, the pork patties are a favorite! And, Obviously the fresh pickles are great! Service is very friendly! And I always find something else I can't leave without! read more

Delicious, pierogis were only 75 cents each. Cooked and ready to eat. (They also have frozen pierogis). I think there were samples near the counter, but didn't get to try any. It's a small store/mini mart/deli with polish products in a suburban area with plenty of street parking. read more

If used properly, Yelp can be a treasure map. B&L is one such treasure - an itty bitty Polish deli in a quiet residential area behind the high school. We were in Manville because their movie theater is the closest to my parents' house with reserved seating. The hankering for pierogis had been lingering for a few days so a quick search led us to B&L. The place was awesome. We picked up a dozen pierogis (potato and cheddar), plus a sauerkraut-filled croquet, a kielbasa and cheese sandwich on rye with mustard and a prune-filled donut for dessert. Everything was fantastic. But what made the experience even more special was the super-sweet woman who helped us. She let us taste samples, she coached us on the sandwich, and she patiently helped us put our family lunch together. Fantastic experience, and we'd never have found B&L without Yelp. Great place. Busy little place - everyone speaks polish or Russian or Ukrainian. The stuffed cabbage rolls are undercooked. Watch out. The meat is reddish inside. Not supposed to be like that. We ended up tossing it out and the cabbage is very hard on the outside. The rolls are nice. Babka is good. Some of the cheesecakes are ok, but not excellent. Try and take a small taste before you buy. read more

I'm happy to have a place like this to slip into once and a while, for a taste of the old country. Well, genetically at least - I'm NJ born and raised. This place has great kielbasas, kabinasis, and meats which remind me of when I would visit my great grandmother in Jersey City. She had a Polish butcher - she would be at home in B&L. The best authentic polish store around. Everything is amazing. On Thursday they get fresh shipments so def the best time to go. The store is extremely tight and small so do not expect much out of the size. The variety of pierogies and kielbasa and endless. They also sell sandwiches which are delicious. Get one for lunch. The reviews of those who got the pastry with a teaspoon of filling make me laugh. That is what you got at this store? Do not base your attendance to this store off of those reviews. read more

Very authentic ! Delicious and homemade pierogi- many different types. We had the onion and potato which was amazing with caramelized onions. We chose the most popular kielbasa. It was Smokey and delicious ! Everyone there speaks polish along with the customers. I'm not a polish speaker but was given a warm welcome. Will be going back very soon! read more

Since i no longer live in Poland, nor do i live near Passaic, Clifton, Garfield or Wallington its difficult to get my hands on some authentic Polish food and items. Luckily for me there are two Polish delis/grocery stores near my place of work. This one happens to be the closest. And i had the pleasure of visiting several times now. Its a small corner store. Its not to the scale of the large polish delis in north eastern NJ where displaced Poles like my dad and I would wait in Line FOREVER to be served. Big stores with lots if polish shoppers. They make fresh punczki (filled polish donuts) every thursday. Their pierogis and stuffed cabbage rolls (gaulumbki) are the bomb! I love their boczek (its sorta like bacon in a way and MY DOWNFALL). I also load up some small groceries and kielbasa ( I CANNOT EAT AMERICAN/POLISH KIELBASA). service is friendly. Please check it out! read more

So far, I have tried all of the kielbasas, but my favorite is the garlic...my mouth is watering as I write this. I'm crazy about the pierogis that I buy frozen and serve all different ways to family and friends and would love to take credit as my own, but I never made them as light and perfect as these. However, the best part of the shopping experience at B&L is the helpful, always smiling young lady behind the counter. I have a limited knowledge of Polish food and without this young lady's help I would have been lost among the fragrant, yummy-looking foods. I wish they could expand the space so I could move around more freely and check out all the products on the shelves, but then B&L might lose the un-commercial feel of the place. Irene read more

A treasure. Best selection of real meats, baked goods and candies in tri-state area, and actually, sad to say, a better selection than you can find in downtown Warsaw, Krakow, or Zamosc. Authentic, homemade food like you'd find in a proud Polish kitchen. Just walking in, the sumptuous bouquet of cured meats will drive a vegan into a raving carnivore. The only pierogi worth eating are homemade, or from B&L. Rye breads like you ate when you were a kid. Always pleasantly busy with working men getting sandwiches, housewives filling their pantries, and at holidays, packed. Legit polish deli. All the food is imported from Poland. Tons of polish sausage. The shopkeepers and other customers speak polish to each other. Delicious. I tried some spicy thin sausage that I can't pronounce and I wish I had bought more. Very well priced. read more

B & L is our family's Easter and holiday tradition. This unassuming shop in a Manville neighborhood is filled with all sorts of delicious Polish treats. Wonderful kielbasa, pierogi, kruschiki and butter shaped like a lamb and so many other things. The staff is just lovely, and even other customers waiting in the sometimes long line are friendly. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. Just be sure to go early so they don't run out of what you want. read more

My mother grew up in Warsaw and has long been looking for a deli with authentic Polish foods of all kinds. She's shopped at several local delis, but this one is her favorite. We make a point to come here especially for Easter and Christmas; the wide variety of foods--meats, baked goods, specialty foods, imported candies and other traditional Polish delicacies is exceptional. My mother always remarks on the quality of the food purchased here and feels that it's the best source for authentic, "homemade" Polish food. The one drawback to the place is that a lot of other people feel the same way, so it can get awfully busy, especially just before the holidays. Expect a long line and a crowd when stocking up on holiday foods, but it's definitely worth the wait. read more

This is the place I go every Christmas season to purchase Kielbasa, dried mushrooms for our traditional Slovak Christmas Eve Sour Mushroom Soup. I also buy perogies, Polish butter, poppy butter, poppy seed roll and other yummy foods. They have a wonderful selection of Polish food products, wonderful bread and baked goods. Good selection. But they recommand sometimes bad items like sweet rolls w jam filling. The roll had a half a spoon of jam for so much dough. It was as if I ate sweet roll only. I hate that. Worst customer service experience ever! Contacted this deli online (did my order through the polish deli online store since i'm located in Texas) it wasn't the fastest response in regards to my 1st order and shipment. Wasn't offered a discount (despite the advertisements on their facebook page) for being a first time order placement. My order was damaged in transit (box was busted and broken, and the items were spoiled due to heat they said the sausage was turning colors) and was given quite the hassle with Fed Ex in getting a resolution from them. FINALLY got through via email from the online store, and they did offer to reship the order. It came yesterday, the dry ice was busted, the styrofoam was broken and the vacuum seal wasn't a true tight seal there was moisture and air in the sausage and was very slimy and VERY warm since all the means to keep the items cool were melted or evaporated. When contacting FedEx to try and resolve the damages their shipment location caused, they informed me the place I ordered from shouldn't be shipping the items they way they packaged the order in because of the chances of the food being spoiled. In the long run this ruined a very small wedding as I was making a main dish for the reception dinner. Will NEVER use this company again a true waste of $69.55 that I won't get back. read more
