I came to town for the eclipse, and Polish Princess Bakery was one of the highlights of the trip. They aren't usually open on Mondays, but they opened special for all the eclipse tourists. I bought a chocolate croissant, a cinnamon roll, and a piece of broccoli & cheese "slab pie," which is basically quiche filling in puff pastry. The slab pie was nice and hot and very tasty. The croissant was probably one of the best chocolate croissants I have every had. I didn't get to the cinnamon roll until the following day, so I don't know what it would have been like when it was fresh, but it was still pretty good day-old. The only reason I'm giving the four stars instead of five is that they didn't have their baked goods labeled with names and prices, so if you wanted to know, you had to ask, which slowed everything down and also made me wonder whether they had raised their prices for the tourists. They had some eclipse merch with the price on the tag crossed out, which was not a good look for transparency in pricing. Still, I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

My husband and I stopped at this coffee shop on our way through town. It looked cute from the outside and we thought we'd grab a quick sandwich for lunch. They have a very limited sandwich menus but we both found something we thought we would like. I ordered a BLT and my husband a chicken salad sandwich. We were both surprised to find that the sandwiches came with nothing else! Not even a bag of chips! Over $9 for a lone sandwich is too much. They were both very tiny as well and on a miniature baguette. What a rip off! After getting over that shock, I bite down into a nasty piece of fat. I looked into the sandwich and saw the fattest bacon I've ever seen. (Photo attached). Even Food Lion bacon isn't this fatty! And that's the place that got caught repacking old meat! I took the fatty bacon to the cashier and asked her if this is what they think bacon should be. She asked if I wanted my money back and she said she would refund our credit card. To this date, no refund. We certainly won't be going back to this place! Awful. Update, the openers of this place have refunded our money. read more

I could smell the bakery from a hundred feet away and it was tantalizing. I was overwhelmed with delicious sweet and savory options. I ended up going for a cranberry orange gooey bun thing. While visiting family in New Hampshire we stopped in here to give it a try after reading an article about them. We were not disappointed! My husband got an Apple Gallette and I got an Almond Cream. Oh my goodness.. the almond cream was one of the most amazing things I have ever had in my life. I wish I didn't live in Minnesota cause I would go there every day! So good! My lands. The food here is divine. The service is incredibly friendly. We ordered turkey sandwiches, a fall salad, a tart, pretzels, and a PSL. The turkey was fresh, the cranberry mustard seemed house made, and the bread: their homemade bread was delicious, chewy in the crust and soft in the middle. My dad added bacon to his turkey sandwich and said it was the best cold cut sandwich he had ever had (the bacon is locally produced too!). Their PSL is better than most that I've had. I highly recommend people enjoy this place if in Lancaster! It is worth it. read more

My wife and I love when I'm vacation to drive and find hidden gems at random. Polish Princess Bakery is one of those hidden gems that if we get anywhere close to that area again we will absolutely go back. We were there for breakfast and the breakfast sandwiches were some of the best we have ever had - the bread was soft the flavors were fantastic the cheese and Dijon mustard just complemented everything. Because everything looks so good we bought some bakery goods including a beignet. I lived in Europe for seven years and this is the closest beignet that I have had in the US that tasted liked the best ones in Europe. If you have an opportunity to go here you should definitely go. read more

SUGGESTION TO THE PRINCESS---Cut up your superb bread into cubes. Slowly bake them in EVOO oil, season and bake them until light brown. Mix in crushed, fresh garlic, salt and fresh ground white and black pepper. Sell them by the bag!! GRAND SLAM HOME RUN CROUTONS---excellent for Caesar salads! I cut up ordinary bagels, season/bake them----use them for salads. My Caesar salads are A+++. Guests BEG my to make Caesar salads. These croutons make the salads even better---and can be munched on as snacks! When you have a chance----write to me for my Caesar salad dressing recipe. It is one of the best!! Also wash, tear and dry the Romaine lettuce and grate the Pecorino Romano cheese---like a powder. read more

Typically when I walk by this building, little invisible fingers of bakery love tickle me in all the right places, encouraging me to come in and be coddled on the inside. It's true, the baked goods here are wonderful and original. There is a wide variety of little lovelies, many of which I have never seen the likes of before. This is a very good thing, as it allows me to justify eating half a dozen or more tasty treats at once, all in the name of personal and spiritual growth, but actually much more on the personal growth side of things, if ya know what I mean. The seating area is kinda austere and, frankly, dull, but after I've bitten into a treat I'm seeing a kaleidoscope of sweet colors and don't really notice or care. They also have really good bread loaves. Whenever I'm hitting the Village of St. Nick, I stop in here and fill up. It is very good. Nice little stop on our way to Northern NH. Clean and welcoming, with a bathroom if needed (we had two kids with us - it was needed). The food is fresh and delicious. Aaah! PPB is a gem of the north country. Had a long drive up and back from the Seacoast on the same day. Stopped here to grab lunch. An excellent salad and a beautiful pastry. The coffee is great and I took home two loaves of bread for the week. Sadly, no iced tea but then it is October. I highly recommend. read more

We were really looking forward to a Polish bakery on vacation, but ended up disappointed. First of all, aside from kielbasa, kolache and the fact that the pastry was only mildly sweetened, there was nothing Polish about this bakery. No paczki? My daughter pointed out it was more of a French bakery with lots of buttery pastry, quiche and loaves of French bread. The prices were fair. Coffee was good. Staff was not great. Just handed us a plain bagel. No knife to cut it, no offer of butter or spreads. Glad we tried it though. If I lived in the area I'd probably come for fresh bread, but we'll skip it on our next trip up. read more

Not sure I can understand the five star reviews. Do these people live under rocks? I have been here twice. The first time was awful but I gave it a second chance. They have hardly any selection of truly baked goods and both times we tried different things. The muffins were small and dry, the cinnamon buns were made with cheap cinnamon so they had that bitter taste and they were dry. I was going to buy pastries to bring to a meeting and there was not enough made to even get 6 of the same thing and it was first thing in the morning. Oh and it is expensive. Save some money and get pastries from Shaw's down the road. Way better. read more
