Brief conversation with the employee who works here for 20 years. Fresh OJ. Unique decor & atmosphere. Pleasant service.

Cute little cafe with counter service and about 6 tables. It is decorated with some beautiful textile art and has a nice kids room in the back. There are a couple of couch conversation areas as well. There are only a couple of sandwiches on the menu, but oh so good. The chicken salad and seeds and nuts and raisins and not too much mayo. The turkey sandwich has a cranberry mustard that made the sandwich divine. And then there is the amazing bread with a chewy crust that is huge, as was the sandwich. We will stop there every chance we get.

Amazing! Wonderful selection of pastries and the chocolate almond croissant was to die for. Extremely flaky croissant with tons of almond filling and the perfect amount of chocolate to make it sweet but not cloying! Rhubarbarella (rhubarb pie) was amazing. Super flaky crust and had the tartness from the rhubarb that usually gets eliminated by too much sugar or strawberries at many other bakeries. 10/10!!! Cold brew was also great, be warned the sugar comes out fast (totally my fault lol). Wicked friendly staff that seemed excited to be doing what they were doing. I am just passing through on my way to Maine, but I will definitely be stopping here whenever I can.

We went inside for a late afternoon latte and an iced Hibiscus tea. Both quenched our thirsts! We sat outside. There's inside and outside seating .

Omgoodness! Nice spot we found on Main Street in this northern town. Small lunch menu with decent options. Try the Bigos soup, it was DELISH!!! A Polish soup made with sauerkraut, veggies and absolutely loaded with meat!! Packed with flavor and lots of spices which were not overpowering at all. We tried a chicken salad sandwich -- the roll was AMAZING!! There are plenty of fresh baked sweets to choose from... The apple galette we shared for dessert was just right -- the filling was not overly sweet and the flavor of the apples really comes through. The dough is hard to describe, a combination of soft, flaky yummy goodness. Service was great, both people at the counter were very pleasant and helpful in explaining the menu. (One was the owners son.) Also, you need to know that they sell loaves of their own delicious homemade bread here. Buy some! There's a large room in back with plenty of unique seating options. Will definitely come back the next time we're in town!

When I read that this was voted one of the best bakeries in the US, I definitely had to stop in when I was out taking photos nearby. I ordered a delicious breakfast sandwich that came on a pretzel bun. I also bought chocolate chip cookies to go, which were easily the best cookies I've ever had. If you like bakeries, visiting Polish Princess Bakery is a must!

Just a sample of the amazing treats!

If you are anywhere near Lancaster, making the Polish Princess a stop is a must! The best chocolate croissants ever and if they don't run out of the olive and rosemary bread by the time you get there you won the lottery so buy a loaf or two.

Very cute and quaint! My mint cucumber lemonade was delicious! I love their selection of puzzles and coloring books. A few more games and some 'for here' cups would be a perfect addition to their sitting room setup!

The ice cream prices before tax (in 2020) are reasonable, Soft Serve/Hard Scoop: Kids ($2.50/$3.00-1 scoop), Small ($3.25/$3.75-2 scoops), Large ($4.25/$4.75-3 scoops). They offer several specialty sundaes ($3.50-$7.50) including: Roady Toasty - Dipped waffle cone, 2 scoops of smores ice cream, marshmallow topping, chocolate sprinkles A River Runs Through It - Fly fish fudge ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream and 2 gummy worms The Turtle Shell - Mint chocolate chip ice cream, caramel, whipped cream & peanuts Maple Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream topped with maple syrup (Fuller's Sugarhouse), whipped cream, cherry Dish of Dirt - soft serve ice cream, Oreos, hot fudge, gummy worms, chocolate sprinkles The Unicorn - Unicorn ice cream, sugar cone, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles in a dish Brownie Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream, 1 brownie, any sundae toppings, whipped cream, 2 cherries Death By Peanut Butter - Peanut butter pie ice cream, peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream Trying to stay cool on a sunny day, I made a stop at Scoops On Main for some ice cream. I needed something small, but different than the traditional scoop ice cream. I ordered a The Unicorn Kids Size Sundae ($3.50 plus tax), which had Gifford's Unicorn ice cream, a sugar cone horn, whipped cream topped with rainbow sprinkles. This sweet colorful sundae was really good and refreshing to enjoy, especially on an 88 degree day in the North Country. Picnic table seating in front of the shop and parking along side of building and along Main Street.

Sylvia (?) was the only server/cook there when we arrived on a Monday morning at 9:30 am. There were several locals at the counter top area chatting with her as they discussed life . We were welcomed when we came in and told to sit anywhere we wanted too. Place is clean but there is nothing cozy or warm or intimate about it. the space does not lend itself to that at all. The menu includes breakfast and lunch options but we weren't quite sure what we were in the mood for. I asked about the home fries and she said they were deep fried so I decided no. After debating, we ended up ordering the 2 slice French toast for me and 3 slice for BF. I opted for sausage links and we both wanted real maple syrup which was $1.69 per small bottle. I wanted a glass of water but was told it might not be safe given something, so got bottled water with no ice . BF got coffee that was just ok. We didn't have to wait long for the food. French toast was mediocre - a bit dry - needed more soak time in egg. Butter was cold so did not melt on bread. Maple syrup was cold as well , making the French toast cold overall. Too bad. The sausage links were the brown and serve sausages you get frozen and were over cooked. See photo - just not very good. I hope she improves her cooking skills as there are not many breakfast/lunch spots in Lancaster open on Mondays. However with a tab of $22.00 I would not return unless reviews become glowing. I wish her well.
