I came to get a gel manicure over the weekend and I will never come back here.. TLDR: The salon is nice inside and clean but the service itself at the prices they charge are AWFUL. They were not busy at all as no one was waiting. The lady who took care of me (I think here name was Lilian?) took the dremel to my bare nails to remove the cuticles instead of pushing them back.. Then she filed my nails. That's all she did before applying the gel. I'm sorry but that is not what a manicure consists of. I wanted gel with a matte top coat, which they charged extra for matte but did not tell me until it was time to pay. The matte top coat also STINGS when putting your nails in the UV light. Now I know there's a normal slight burn associated with UV but this was so unbearable I had to keep pulling my hands out. The final result is streaky looking.. not enjoyable, not what I wanted, and PRICEY. $40 for this? Really? I live in Astoria just outside of NYC and visit my parents occasionally out on the island. NYC prices are less if not the same and THEY ACTUALLY GIVE YOU A MANICURE. I am only giving 2 stars because they seem to be taking the proper COVID precautions to protect staff and employees. And I didn't have to wait. But believe me, after this cringe-worthy "manicure" while polish was being applied, I was itching to get out of there. read more

This was my first time here and Ellie was my technician who worked on my nails. She was super friendly and accommodating to the design I had in mind. This establishment is taking COVID precautions very strictly which made me feel safe and actually have social distance between customers. They required me to fill out a covid tracing sheet and temperature checks and and had sneeze guard between customers and employees. I would recommend making an appointment prior.  I got tips with dip powder and I'm very satisfy with the results. They also provide a little back massage while my nails were drying which felt nice since I haven't gotten one ever since COVID. Will definitely come back :)) read more

Prices are downright decent and include a 10 min leg massage and 5 min shoulder massage at the end. This time I added a 10 min back massage for only $10 Sanitary standards are high, they sterilize all of their instruments and open a new packet in front of you. Plenty of color options. I've been coming to this nail salon for a few years now and it's been my favorite in the area! There's a good selection of colors whether you're getting regular polish, gel or powder. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Depending on the day of the week and what time you come in yes there will be a wait but they always do a good job. I went yesterday and really enjoyed my jelly pedicure as well as my powder manicure. I had a facial and was very specific that I wanted the extractions and was assured that my blackheads were taken care of. I came home and they weren't. I had my eyebrows and lips waxed and was assured every spot was taken care of. I came home and have already made an appointment to redo my eyes and lips at EWC. I tried gel powder manicures on 2 separate occasions. The first one - 6 out of 10 nails chipped off in 4 days. I did go back and they fixed them however 2 days later the other 4 nails chipped off! I gave them another shot and did an SNS gel powder manicure; this time 6 out of 10 nails cracked! I don't recommend powder gel manicures here. At first I thought perhaps it was poor quality powder but the SNS didn't last either. I've never had that happen before. One thing I do recommend though is their pedicures! read more

Just moved here & I'm very picky with nail salons. Been here twice & it is Very clean and big variety of colors. They offer a lot more than just manicures & pedicures as well. It's a one stop spa. Best of all they didn't shout at each other in another language so I never felt like they were talking about me. Came here to get the worst attempt at a french ombre fixed, first time here was impressed with how my nails came out....VERY. I also got a 10 minute massage while getting my nails done which was GREAT he even hit pressure points and got my 2 day sinus headache to subside. what a relief that was! Went to this salon today since it's close to my boyfriends house and I figured I'd give it a try.. It's nice when you first walk in. Spacious, relaxing music playing, looked clean. So I picked out my polish color and sat down to wait until they were ready for me. Next thing I know one of the employees SNAP their fingers in front of me to get my attention and tell me where to sit. So I go to the pedicure chair and have one of the men working on my feet... and the pressure he used when cleaning my toe nails hurt so bad. My nails LOOK nice but I will not be back. read more

if i could give this place 0 stars, i would. when i went in, i had to have acrylic taken off. they said it would be an extra 10 dollars, which was fine. when i was getting them off, the guy tried taking them off with a credit card which was ripping my nails and i asked him to use a file. i then warned him my nails were thin and to be careful because they may break easily and he rolled his eyes at me and ignored me. then he filed a hole in my middle finger nail. these are my natural nails which i have been growing out for months. at this point i told them i was leaving and got up, but a lady told me she wouldn't charge for tips. i sat down again and he filed off ANOTHER nail. he tore two other nails but left them and put powder on top. when he put on the powder and finally finished, the shape was so ugly and uneven on both hands. i am so disappointed and angry. don't go here unless you want the ugliest nails of your life. read more

Horrible nail salon. The two males who work there find joy in pushing your cuticles so hard they bleed. When I protested he scowled and proceeded to wipe up the blood with a scalding hot towel. This place is absolutely a waste of money! I heard about this salon through a coworker who lives near the area and said they've been in business for many many years. I figured I would try since it's walking distance from my work place. I made an appointment for a gel manicure ($20) several days before. As soon as I walked inside the door there was a police officer exiting the salon which made me skeptical but I didn't want to judge so quickly . I overheard that there was an altercation of some sort. I sat right down where no one welcomed me or acknowledged me. 10 min later the owner( forgot her name) called me "little girl, come here". Mind you I'm 35, I did not find that cute or flattering. I knew as soon as I sat down, I made a mistake. The owner was VERY RUDE and did a sloppy job. She paid attention to everything but me. The phone, the other customers, yelling in Chinese to her workers, etc. .. I just wanted to get up and walk out She did NOT use a new pack of files/buffer and I second guess if the instruments were truly sterilized. I never ever had a gel manicure in 20 mins. I literally walked out the door within that time upset and annoyed cause I was really looking forward to a relaxing time...I'm also not the type to complain and make a scene. Two days later,3 of my nails were already chipped. I didn't want to call or return back but I wasn't going to pay to have it fixed at some other salon. So I went back and expressed my anger to the owner, she didn't give a shit or apologized. She basically told me she does gel manicures in 20 mins and if I don't like it to go elsewhere. Mind you I also told her how sloppy of a job she did and to polish my nails much closer to my cuticles. Also the woman next to me expressed her bad experience there and agreed that the owner is very unprofessional and only goes there because she works right around the corner, which I still don't understand why she goes... Anyways,the salon was busy both times I went and I'm truly amazed how there inbusiness.( I noticed it's mostly teens that go) So please save your money and go elsewhere. Even if the gel manicure is cheaper than most salons ($20) it's exactly run like a factory. I rather pay a little more and know the nail tech takes there time and does a neat job. I have been going to this salon for a while and used to love it, however the last few months my nails have chipped after 5 days (gel manicure). This last time they chipped after 3! The woman who did my nails rushed through while I was getting a pedicure and did my nails at the same time. She said she was using a "faster light" however 30 seconds under the uv is not enough time. My family and I have been coming here for years and at first they were absolutely great and over the past several months it has really gone downhill. The customer service is horrible they don't even seem happy to greet you when you walk in, and they have gotten extremely lazy with the quality of their services. Most recently, I went in for a pedicure and gel powder manicure. I walked in and there was one other person in the place so you'd think they'd be happy to have a customer but they acted as if they were annoyed a paying customer walked in. The woman who did my pedicure cut my toe as she was cutting my nails and left a noticeable mark. I have no idea how clean or sanitary their supplies are so I obviously got concerned. Then when doing my gel powder manicure he didn't even bother to do a base or top coat and rushed through the entire thing as if the place was packed. Powder gel usually lasts me a little over 2 weeks, and my nails started chipping and breaking within 5 days. I will never come back here again. They don't care about the quality of their service or customers anymore. read more
