Cute place, nice people, but I was extremely disappointed.. when my nail technician said "ok all done!" I looked down and saw a huge snag on the tip of my big toe nail. It was so obvious but I had to ask her to fix it? She did that and didn't fix the super crooked cut on that nail. This was my 2nd nail salon experience ever but I'm pretty sure that's not right! I fixed it myself at home. Kim is the bomb when it comes to gel nails! I had my nails done by her twice and she did not disappoint, actually exceeded my expectations! Which is why I was pretty bummed when I tried making an appointment last week but they were fully booked, so I ended up going to a different salon and totally regret it. First time I got my nails done with Kim, she painted my nails a pretty nude color, topped with gold glitter on my tips. Second time, I requested something fun and got my nails painted like the galaxy. I received tons of compliments at work for both nail colors! The salon is not huge but I really like the vibe inside. After reading various reviews for the very few nail salons in the area, I decided to give Polished Nail Salon a try and I am so glad I did. I had previous gel nails done at another salon in the bay area before I moved up here and needed to have them removed so I could go back to my natural nails. I called and had a same day appointment with Cammi. The salon is very clean and was very warm and inviting, and eveyone there was very friendly, and the pricing was very reasonable. It took a long time to remove all the old stuff, and Cammi was absolutely wonderful. She took great care into removing everything and was very patient with me for the amount of time it took. She was very precise and committed to ensuring that my nails looked just right and perfect. My hands and nails look and feel amazing, and Cammi is such a warm and wonderful person, she made me feel very relaxed and had such a great attitude! I just cant say enough good things. You might want to wear a mask if you have an appointment for service at this salon. I have been going there for about 3 years and the service has been good.. I had an appointment the end of December and because my manicurist was away my nails were done by someone else. She did an excellent job, but she was very sick... She had just gotten up out of his sick bed to come in and do my nails, and should never have been out of bed at all that day. I, who never catch anyone's colds or flu, came down with whatever the woman had after 3 days. And was very sick for 2 and a half weeks.. When I later told the owner of the salon what had happened she said, "Well, you people give us your germs and we give you ours. That's the way it is... She stayed home for one day!" If you feel that you need to go to Polished Nail for service, you might want to consider wearing a mask to protect yourself from germs, particularly during the cold and flu season.. read more

Disappointing. Went in for a gel mani and pedi and had a pretty bad/subpar experience. The technician was a little rude and cold and just had a negative attitude that didn't make it enjoyable. My nails turned out like I'd done them at home, probably worse really. There was polish on my finger around the nail. 24 hours later the polish was cracked and chipping. Ive never had that happen with gel even after weeks of wear. The pedi was weird and felt unsanitary, the water was lukewarm and the scrub was so minimal. It felt like she was giving the bare minimum effort. I'd never go back or recommend. read more

I went in for the first time on Saturday to get my nails filled, it's such a cute little salon, with a great polish selection. The woman who I was scheduled to do my nails with was late, and the other girls were so nice and accommodating. Turns out it was some sort of emergency, and Barbara ended up doing my nails instead. I'm not from the area, so I'm used to having my nails done a bit differently. Typically, the nail artists use that filing machine, and it doesn't always make for the best looking nails, and they always kind of rush it, so they don't always turn out great. Had a gel manicure with Erin today- she did SUCH a good job and was so fast!! I told her I was in a rush, and with removal I was out in 50 minutes. I'm used to spending 1 1/2 hours per appointment at other salons in town so I was thrilled to get out quickly and get on with my day. Fun, friendly shop and prices are comparable to other salons. I would give 0 stars. I came to get my nails done about 2-3 weeks ago and it was honestly the worst experience I ever had. Odaliz cut two of my cuticles to the point where they bled THE ENTIRE TIME AND EVEN AFTER. The whole time she had to apply alcohol to both nails until the very end. The most painful nail appointment I have EVER had. None of my nails even matched in design (I got lavender french tips and a yin yang design on my ring fingers). The actual nail shapes didn't even match each other. She didn't even bother to compare them to each other. She didn't bother to file down where the shape was cut off from the manufacturer's packaging. She didn't bother asking me how she OR I felt about it. I thought they seemed fine when I was at the shop, which is why I gave her an almost $50 tip (the lighting made it seem different and I always tip above and beyond because I try to appreciate the service, even if it is awkward). I ended up having to file them MYSELF for a few hours. She told me the "natural" color to go along with the lavender was not pink at all and that it would blend in. My skin tone is brown and olive, so the pink nail color she choose looks incredibly tacky and frankly trashy. I still have them on as I paid about $100 because I do believe in tipping well, but this sucks. I can't even take them off even though they are so ugly and mismatched. The "conversation" we had even seemed forced, like she didn't want to be there. I unfortunately could not pay the deposit at the time because I have technical issues with the cash pay apps she requires (I own up to that mistake/grievance), and I did express that to her. She accepted my clientele regardless, but made her annoyance clear the day of our appointment. Never, ever, EVER going to this rude establishment EVER again. Such a waste of my time, money, and energy. Now I can't even get them off. EDIT: I don't blame the lighting on the salon AT ALL. If it looked fine at that moment, then it just did and I can't blame it on anyone. All of my past nail appointments, however, have ALWAYS asked how they or I felt about it throughout the whole appointment. My tech was so preoccupied with the fact that she made me bleed the entire time that she didn't even take the time to look at each and every nail. I don't know what any other Polished tech would have done, but I don't even want to know. I mean I even heard the other tech on the phone with a customer and it was not the best customer service I have heard. Even if I set this up through her (Odaliz) own means, she is still employed by the salon, she still did my nails at this salon, and nothing will change any of those facts. She was still indifferent, she still didn't seem to care about my business, and she didn't seem to care too much about what I thought of the finished product. And this employer response is honestly insulting. read more

Every time I come in I'm greeted w/ a smile & you can't beat the price when compared to other salons w/ stand-up tanning beds in northern Humboldt.
