This place has become my go to nail spot. All staff are friendly, accommodating and very skilled. Really fast and do a great job. And it has MASSAGE CHAIRS! There is ALWAYS an interesting HGTV home renovation show on. I never watch these shows unless I'm here and it makes the time go by fast. They don't have the best selection of non gel colors, but I always bring my own anyway. I have tried several other nail places in Humboldt and I keep ending up back here. I went in for a Mani Pedi, and while my nails turned out okay, I do have a spot on my toe missing top coat - and I had a few issues with the service. The main thing being it was extremely rushed, 30 minutes for a mani pedi. The massage was very quick and light for both the hands and the feet. They didn't shorten my toenails enough for my taste but that's a kinda nit picky personal preference, also didn't trim my ingrown big toe nail. The finger nails are decent. She didn't push back my cuticles even after I asked her to, she just kinda did the motion of it very quickly and moved on, so I predict some lifting before the end of the week. I feel like getting your nails done as opposed to doing them yourself it's all about the pampering, that's what you're paying for, and I did not feel pampered at all. The nails look good but I could've bought the stuff myself for half the price and done a better job at home + had more left over to do them again and again. I was going for the massage and wanted some self care since my baby shower is coming up and it just was not worth $115 for 30 mins and no attention to detail. read more

I was already upset upon leaving at the upward direction of the nails, but let that slide, contacted another parent whose child also went with us, also missing nails already! Poor quality, and lack of proper knowledge, it took all the nail techs over seeing 1 design on both girls, they ignored another customer for well over 10/15 min just to put the flame design. I just had the worst mani/pedi I have ever had in my life. First of all they were doing to many people at the same time that they were rushing everyone through like cattle. After the girl finished my pedicure she put my flip flops on right away before it was dry. Had me walk over to the manicure table and rushed though that. I looked down at my toes and realized the she did not clean under or the sides of my toenails. So she quickly did it and smeared my polish. So she put more polish over if which made it to thick, So I had to ask her to remove the polish and redo it!! I came in for a manicure pedicure it cost me $100 to do both sets of gel nails. The customer service was terrible I felt uncomfortable the whole time, and the gels lasted only 5 days before they started peeling off. Such a bummer I've been getting Gels for years and they usually last weeks before it's time to get another set. Fast forward to today... it's my friends birthday and we had made appointments to come in. (I only was coming in to get the terrible gel polish they did on me and removed nothing else). I was a walk in for a gel pedicure, and had a nice experience! I loved the massage chairs, and relaxing full service spa pedicure. Here's hoping it lasts as long as gel pedicures are supposed to last. If it does, I'll be back. My toenails are a little short, but I think that's my fault--she asked me if I wanted them cut short and I said yes. I'll alter my response next time. The service was fast, which is how these sorts of places are designed to be. But they covered all the bases. Worst pedicure I've ever had! I took my daughter there for mani/pedi. During my gel pedicure the person dropped the applicator on my big toe - she noticed and immediately checked it, and since she didn't fix it I figured all was well. After I got home I noticed that my big toe is a bumpy horrible mess of gel polish. I can't believe they would realize something had gone wrong and not fixed it right then & there. Then I kept waiting and 2 more people walked in and they got sat to start their services before me and I decided that was my breaking point so I left. As I was walking out a lady called after me and said she was going to do mine right now but the client she currently had, didn't even start her color yet so there was no way I was gonna start soon. Needed a last minute manicure on a Sunday before engagement photos, and this was one of the only nail salons near me that was open. Upon walking in, the place looks pretty clean and modern, which is nice. However, polish selections were pretty bad. The majority of them were super separated and old looking, the bottles were grimy and coated in old polish, and the color variety was lacking - there was ONE nude shade. In addition, the base and top coats at the manicure station were practically crusted shut. The nail tech that did my manicure wasn't great. She kept getting distracted by the TV that was playing, and after I left, I noticed that she did a pretty poor job applying polish - there was some on my cuticles and the second coat very noticeably didn't go all the way to the edges. Started chipping the day after, and four days later, it's chipped beyond repair. One of the other nail techs was hanging out in one of the pedicure chairs, listening to videos full volume on his phone the entire time. Not very professional. I won't be back. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. When I went to get my acrylics removed they tried to rip them off. When I told them "please don't do that" she responded "it will only hurt a little." I asked for them to be soaked off, and they made me sit there for an hour with my fingers in acetone. Then she used the drill and went so deep that it almost went to my skin. I am in pain daily and my nails are completely destroyed. The older woman that works there is straight up mean and insulting. I will be reporting this business to the BBC and I hope they get shut down. They should not be allowed to stay open. read more

not good at all i walked in with my mother in law looked at the prices on the wall it is posted that acrylic sets are 40$ and sculpted acrylic are 50 $ so tell me why after I double check pricing with the nail tech and if they take cards we got very very simple acrylic sets my moms was black French tip and mine is blue with cat eye coat. she cut my fingers multiple times and never cleaned her brushes from the previous person or maybe even at all between clients. Went in for first time manicure and pedicure with this salon. Pedicure was fine, a woman did my manicure while I was sitting for my pedicure. I've never experienced this. Nail dust was all over my clothes, she cut me twice, my cuticles look worse than when I went in. She kept expecting me to reach across my body so she could work on the opposite hand. No hand massage, no oils, sloppy polish. And, she kept moving the gel lamp after about 30 seconds instead of the full 60. I have zero expectations for this manicure lasting. It was not a joyful or relaxing salon experience. I asked when I paid if this was how they normally do mani/pedis and was told it is. I have never experienced this in 30 years of getting them. Unprofessional, unclean space. I booked 4 pedicures for myself and my sisters almost a week in advance. We arrived a few minutes before our noon appointments and were not acknowledged for about 10 minutes, until a young woman walked up and shoved a thermometer in our faces without saying a word. At 12:20 (our appointments were 12), they told us they had 3 chairs ready, although we booked 4 pedicures. They were clearly doubled booked, so one of my sisters had to wait 10 minutes before they began her service. There was no apology, no explanation, nothing. With the exception of one, none of the techs looked at or even spoke to us during the service. We all booked a deluxe pedicure, but my sister (the same one who had to wait to join us) missed out on the massage portion of her service, and when she inquired about it, she was met with eye rolls, and then given a quick and very rough and massage by another tech, after her pedicure was over. Again, no acknowledgement or apology. Apart from the cold nature of the staff, the place was dusty and grimy and didn't feel clean at all. We saw them wipe down the pedicure chairs, but they did nothing to sanitize the tubs in between the services, they just emptied and refilled them. It was such a disappointment and we will not visit again. read more

I've been here twice before and each time the experience is decent (at least for what you can expect in Humboldt county). The prices are a bit on the pricier side, but again it's what you would expect in Humboldt county. *Mai, the nail technician has done my nails both times I visited and has left me satisfied! She's a bit on the quieter side, but she definitely knows what she's doing. I visited with my family during graduation and had an excellent visit. As for yesterday though, my visit felt extremely rushed for a full set gel mani. I was there for an hour and 45 mins. Majority of that time I just sat there waiting and I know other customers had the same experience. They might have been under staffed, but regardless they have always been polite and do a good job. Was on track to be one of the better mani pedis I have had... until the paint job. Toes turned out great, but they brought in someone else to do the gel paint part of my manicure. It was thick, bumpy, not clean (extra gel polish on tips of fingers), and she painted all the way onto cuticle line, so with the tiniest bit of growth, there was a rough, lifted edge. You know, the kind that snag like crazy when washing hair. Worse yet, within a few days, the entire polish easy lifted and came off in one piece (see pic). The same thing happened to to friend who also got a mani that day. Again, the guy that did my pedicure and manicure up until the polish was great. The girl that finished was rude and did a horrible job. What a waste. If not for her/this paint job, I would have for sure been back. read more
