I hit something on the expressway that bent my drivers side front wheel on the inside lip causing a…read moresmall leak. After a Google of "bent wheel repair" I got several places and simply began calling the closest to me. I had to provide pictures of the damaged wheel so I removed the wheel and took several pics. After providing pics with details to several local wheel repair shops I was quoted a high of $450 and low of $200. AFW was actually recommended by a guy I called, because he only repaired wheel rash, not bent wheels. On AFW's website, I scheduled an appointment and though I did get an email confirmation, I called the morning of the appointment to confirm if they have a pickup service and if I can drive in or have to bring in the wheel. No pickup service. I only had a slow leak, so I was able to drive in and they removed the wheel for repair. Everyone I spoke with there is very friendly, answering all my questions concisely. The shop can be a little difficult to find as their main entrance is on the side, not visible from the street. It's a much larger shop than I expected with hundreds of wheels neatly stacked on shelves. There's a small lobby and waiting room, but after being told approximately how long it would take, I took a walk down the street to the Omelette Factory Santee. BTW, good food and super friendly staff AFW kept me informed of everything, from the time they started on my wheel, their assessment, an estimate and how long the repair will take. Approx 2-hours for my wheel damage. In short, American Wheel Factory is professional and absolute experts at their craft. My wheel is good as new and they were the least expensive. I highly recommend!

Darren in the front office took impeccable care of me. I was in and out in a few hours, and the waiting room made it easy, comfortable and with solid wifi so I could actually get some work done. I had a set of half doors for my Jeep that needed powder coating. The doors have an inner panel…read moreheld on by about 20 screws. I removed all but 5-6 screws to keep the panel in place during transport. When I dropped off the doors, they gave me a reasonable price and assured me they could complete the job within my time frame. When I picked up the doors, they were wrapped in plastic. However, when I got home, I realized they had never removed the inner panel and had powder-coated over the screws, making it impossible for me to unscrew them and assemble the doors. I respectfully notified them of the issue. The staff handled my complaint professionally, with understanding and compassion--until the owner called me. He told me they don't remove screws and that a mechanic should have removed the three 1/4" screws beforehand. He also stated that I had signed a contract that didn't specify they would remove the screws. Okay, I get it. He offered to powder coat another product for free but refused to fix the doors. Again, okay, I get it. So, I asked if he would instead refund $500 of what I had spent. That's when he literally told me to "pound sand." I remained completely kind and professional throughout the entire process, but Phil, the owner, took it to another level. I own a business, and customer satisfaction is my top priority. Clearly, that is not the case for Phil. He is an unprofessional, arrogant man. Be careful when dealing with him--his employees are great, but Phil... not so much. Yikes. Oh phil you're a silly man you really earned this review.

My deck has a lot of odd angles and was a complicated project, but Paul made everything feel easy. He was extremely communicative--texted me back right away, came out immediately to give me a quote, and always answered every follow-up question I had. It was genuinely a pleasure working with him. My custom-designed railing (64 linear feet) was hot-dip galvanized and took about six weeks from start to finish. Paul recommended a matte black finish because the hot-dip process can leave slight irregularities, but it ensures the metal will never rust. He was absolutely right--the final result is stunning. The railing was installed the day before my birthday party, and we made it just in time. All of my guests and neighbors were blown away by how beautiful everything turned out. Paul is professional, reliable, and highly skilled. I would honestly ignore any one-star reviews--they do not reflect the quality of his work or service.
