It's important to point out that the only way I ever even knew about this business was because I asked Yelp to help me find someone to take the old tint off my windows and apply new tint. He responded to my yelp request and was so professional and easy to work with through text messaging. I could tell immediately he was a hard worker who cared about my business. I waited on going through with it because Life got busy - and when I reached back out, I found that he had left the business he was with when we first started texting and went to start his own business. Both his former establishment and he... Were so professional about the fact that he had left one business and started his own. The other business even referred Connor to me at his new location. I thought that was really respectable! You will not be disappointed... Connor was quick and very efficient and even took the time to show me the difference between the tint he took off my car that was bubbling and purple and the new tint that he put on. I was concerned about the color of the tint from inside the car and that it would be dark, but not too dark. He did the best job ever! And he used a special steam process to takeoff the old tint. The location is very nice and there was a nice waiting area for me while they did the work. I could see them working right in front of me and trust this place completely! I've rarely had things powder coated so I'm not sure how their prices compare to others. That said, I thought their quote seemed fair and they completed the job quickly and the quality seems excellent. It was a 25 year old free standing cast aluminum bird feeder. Very heavy and quite dirty and weathered with the old powder coating peeling off. They sandblasted off the old finish and any corrosion and it should be good to go for another 25 years - looks better than new! My husband and I collect antiques. We have 2 vintage Russel Wright metal lawn chairs from the late 1940s. They were in really bad shape when we got them and we've had them in our garage for a number of years. We decided to restore them. We did research to find out what they might have looked like when they were new. We also researched different ways to restore them. At one point, we even considered taking them to an auto body shop. After asking around and talking to other people, we decided to have them sandblasted and powder coated. We found 3 powder-coating companies here on Yelp. We sent each of them detailed photos of the chairs and told them what we wanted to have done. All of them were similarly priced and said they could do the job. We decided to use Anocote Powder because they were the only ones that said they could do the chairs in two colors (as they were when they were first made). I also got the sense that the owner, Kent, understood that this wasn't a typical industrial powder coating job but more of a high-end restoration. When we took them in to have the work done, we were told that they could not do two colors. We were disappointed but we decided to do it anyway. They helped me choose the colors which we really like. The job was done quicker than we thought. When we saw the photos of the completed chairs we noticed that one of them had a pitted texture that we didn't expect and weren't told about. When we picked them up we saw there was a small hole in one of them and the other chair had a small rough spot in the seat. When I asked about the pitted texture, I was told: "The reason it looks like that is because we had to sandblast it to remove all the rust." The reason for the 3-star rating vs. 5 is that I feel they should have communicated more clearly up front. We shouldn't have been told they could do 2 colors when they could not. Also, we should have been told what to expect regarding sandblasting and that the chairs would have defects. Overall, the chairs look much better than they did. I'm sure this is a great company and they've earned their rating here. However, I wouldn't use them for high-end restorations of the type we did. read more

I would like to give Anocote Powder a better review. But the attitude and professionalism of the woman working the front desk was horrible and really ruined the whole experience. My order included several parts, and unfortunately the shop lost one of them. It wasn't the end of the world, but when I called and asked if they could look for the part, she acted as if I was the one inconveniencing her, and never offered any kind of apology. She also made scheduling and picking up my order far more difficult than it needed to be. The quality of the powdercoating job was fine. When I had to go look for the missing part myself and I walked into the warehouse area, I ran into another employee, and he seemed very nice. My recommendation - hire another receptionist. read more

Kent replied in a very quick manner and delivered a quote for my wheels. His price is very competitive. This was my first powdercoating experience and it went smoothly but not without some hiccups. The wheels were accidently powdercoated the wrong color but was corrected the next day. Apparently it was a mix up of orders. The wheels came out great however just 2 months the color I had chose developed a very unattractive swirls marks. I brought this up to Kent and he made it right without any effort. I brought my wheels to Anocote a little over 6 months ago for powder coating. I was extremely satisfied with the work, but wanted to wait a few months before writing a review to see how things held up under driving. Results? Coating still looks great after 5,000 miles, some track time, and a replacement set of tires. I also appreciate Kent's help in selecting a color (they nailed what I was looking for) and the company's transparency. There was a small flaw on one of the wheels and I was given the option of a discount, or having the work redone. This is a before and after picture of my late grandmother's vintage Cosco stepstool. (For some reason I wasn't able to post a picture here, so I posted it separately). It had been sitting in my dad's basement for over 30 years, collecting rust and dirt. I tried restoring it myself, but it was too important to me and I didn't want to mess it up so I contacted Kent and sent him pictures, asking for a quote. He got back to me within an hour. Called a few places to get a quote to powder coat my 4runner spare wheel. first place I went to quoted a price then when i went to drop off the wheel they doubled the price, not acceptable. Our 15 yr old cast aluminum patio furniture was chipped and flaking. We liked the design but thought it might be cheaper to replace it - we priced a new set and it was crazy expensive, even in the off season. I emailed Anocote with pictures and they gave me an estimate almost immediately. The furniture was picked up, finished and returned within 2 weeks, which included repairing a crack in the table that happened when we moved. We chose a custom color that we absolutely love. The price was about 25% of what it would have cost to replace the set, and manufacturers don't offer all of the color choices that Anocote does. My matte black coat on my rims still looks fresh as ever. I just gave them a wash at Gentle Touch Wash of Clairemont Mesa and these bad boys look brand new again. Once I picked up the bars I was speechless. I was completely blown away with the quality and workmanship, it also helps to have employee's whom have a combined experience of 40 years. I was given a tour of their facilities, and I was quite impressed.
