    "Interesting" mural...ummm.

Typical diner. Get what you expect. Pancakes and the works. Friendly and to the point waitress who helped us order. I got the American Burger which was a simple as you would expect but tasty. Came with fries which were good and a soup which was not - we had the cheesy mushroom and spinach soup that was basically a fondu. But I think that's a style that some people are used to. Eclectic devour including a strange mural will add a pic of. Not a bad stop if you on the road.

The diner was clean, but extremely cold, like cold cold. I had ordered a French dip , came with chicken noodle soup and fries and my husband ordered the monte cristo sandwich with fries. Neither of us could eat our food, the meat didn't look right and they don't put cheese on their French dip sandwich unless you pay an additional amount. There was no chicken in the soup and it tasted like shells in water with a weird film over the top of it. Everything about our dishes was off , even the piece of lettuce with a tomato on it was kinda weird on the side of our plates. Found out they changed owners months ago. My husband bragged how great this place was and how his family went here every yr up to 2018 , and then with covid they hadn't been back... until now. This was my first and last time goin here .

Wonderful country diner with great food and great prices. My country special shown is under $10! You can't go wrong and the service was great. We had Alexis. They have complete breakfast, lunch and dinners.

For starters you cant beat the prices or service. Hands down 5 star on that. The food there is a little to be desired. Sausage gravy is somewhat bland, just need some simple cracked pepper. The biscuits we decent but i like a dense consistency. Eggs Benedict were cooked well but the hollandaise sauce was also bland and watery. The ham is a good portion but its smoked ham which overpowered the hollandaise sauce. Worth a visit.

So far so good. Restrooms are clean. O rhink we ate here a few years ago but cant foe the life of me remember if it was decent or not.

A couple kinds of French toast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon, ham, corned beef hash, lots of potato casseroles, waffles, two kids of French toast...it just goes on and on. And then you have a full salad area with fresh fruit !! Oh and did I mention an entire buffet of pastries? Donuts, cinnamon rolls, danishes, muffins. It just kept going !!! Everything was fresh and replenished and delicious. The only thing I'd pass on was the Bloody Mary bar. Not a lot of stuffs. Cold chicken nuggets, bacon, green olives, some sad pickle spears, lemon wedges, celery, kielbasa, that was pretty much it. Would Have like to have seen cheese cubes or maybe some shrimp. But it was not bad, just nothing to write home about. All in all for 20.00 a person for food (I don't remember what the bloody bar was) it was a good deal. And they do it daily, not just on the weekends!!!

R place was legendary with their Hubcap -Porkchops , and massive pancakes, my favorite was the R place challenge- a burger which was about 3 lbs of meat, 1lb of condiments, and 1lb bun which was fresh baked daily on site. A few people conquered it, but not I. A friend & I went and split it once, and we couldn't finish. The server drops it off, and glanced at my buddy who had a funny look on his face.... And says: whats wrong sir? My pal deadpans and looks at this Massive burger which is about spilling over a full size dinner plate and says : Looks kinda skimpy, dont ya think?? The waitress and I roared with laughter. The burger was fabulous, fresh condiments, great bun, and meat was tops! Ahhh those were the days... They've fallen on hard times and closed. Shame. Good luck to Black Bear. I dont know anything about them but will try to stop in one day soon.

I was back in town visiting for a wedding and my host recommended G&S for brunch. They are only open eight hours a week and the only time we could get one of their few tables was 9 am sharp. We arrived on time and were the second table seated in a dining room that only contained eight tables. Great music, with classic rock and country played at a moderate level. Servers were all super nice and engaging. I could tell this was a place where the regulars come often and the staff knows them well. I got my OJ and my friend got her coffee. Juice tasted pretty fresh, but I admit I wish it had a little pulp. Right away we headed up to the buffet line and it was so amazing. Herb and cheese frittata, thick cut bacon, thick sausage patties, cheesy hash browns, banana bread French toast, biscuits, sausage gravy, Caprese salad, cinnamon rolls, raspberry brownies, fruit salad, almond poppyseed scones, chocolate chip cookies... Everything I tried was excellent. The bacon and sausage were so full of flavor and as I mentioned they were thick, nothing wimpy about this breakfast meat. The French toast really had that nice banana and cinnamon flavor going. Cheeses added richness to the shredded hash brown potatoes. That cinnamon roll was so flaky. I even took some the buttercream frosting on top and spooned it on the French toast bake and that only made it even more amazing. I almost felt sorry for the fruit salad of blueberries, red grapes, and honeydew! 23 dollars was a pretty solid deal, especially since it was unlimited portions. I've had a few brunch buffets, but this absolutely ranks in the top 2 or 3 I have ever had.
