Monday tech comes out couldn't find the leak, but found "my whole system was not balanced". They wanted an additional $1,800+. Um, no. Called ACE AC. They sent their tech out. Alex. Said he knew exactly what the problem was. Cleaned the coil which he stated was black with dirt. Total charge $95. Air has been running colder than it has in years. Still freezing us today. I have used this company a couple times with positive results when my air conditioner won't cool…read morethe house to the set temperature. When the tech showed up i explained the situation. He immediately started telling me that he won't try and sell me a new unit, but will try to sell me something (monthly plan) later. As he opened my a/c he began rambling about the components of the fan and other weird things that wasn't getting us closer to a diagnosis. Then his phone died. I brought out a charger. He then tells me he doesn't do a/c repairs but does installation. After a half hour of this, I kept asking what he was going to do. He kept telling me I had to tell him what to do. I responded that I am not the tech. Once the phone was charged he called his supervisor. They were on the phone for a while. The tech then has me listen in on the call but without speakerphone but brought the phone ear to ear. The person on the other end of the phone was saying that when it's hot outside the a/c won't cool accurately? That's nonsense. The tech then sits on the floor of the garage to scroll through things he might do and what it would cost. This took another half hour with us out in 90degree heat. He then calls someone else to complain that he wasn't trained on billing and using whatever app he was using. At this point I was getting frustrated. He shows me a cost to pull everything out of the unit To clean at a cost of around $400. I asked if that would fix it and he again said I had to tell him what to do. At this point I lost faith that this guy could fix anything and asked for the bill and call it quits. He then disappeared. I think he wandered off behind the house somewhere. I couldn't find him. I took all his stuff out of the garage to try and get him out as fast as possible. He kept rambling under his breath. I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or himself. It turned out he was talking to me. This person was so weird I just wanted him to go. I wasn't going to complain until he said something aggressive to me as I was paying. I waited for him to leave as he sat in the truck for 15 more minutes. I called the company and explained what had happened. My wife got a call asking how the service was. She asked the person to call me. We never heard back. I paid $70 for the weirdest two hour encounter I have ever had. He arrived at 10 and didn't leave until 12pm. Two hours wasted and my a/c is still not functioning as it should.

I contacted this business, Speedy Tech Services (who advertise on TV as being not only veteran…read moreowned but woman owned) about flushing my tankless hot water heater and was quoted $90 forthis service plus they would do a free all home inspection of all plumbing. The inspection revealed 12 shut off valves recommended for replacement which I authorized and was shocked to receive a sketchy, non-detailed invoice for $$1,673.00 which did not include an itemized list of charges. I asked the Tech for such an invoice but was told I would have to contact his office to obtain it. I foolishly went ahead and made payment thinking I would be provided with an itemized invoice. When this did not occucr, I called called and talked to Manager named Mark on/about May 20, 2026 and asked for an itemized invoice showing exactly how they derived this amount. Mark told me he would mail me an itemized invoice and I gave him my mailing address. No itemized invoice was received. Here's why I think this charge was totally unfair and that Speedy Tech took advantage of a retired Army veteran. I priced 12 like valves at Lowes at average cost of $20 each which equals $240.00. I then added a 30% markup to this cost amounting to $312.00. Adding the $90 for tankless hot water heater flush to this brings total to $402.00. Deducting $402.00 from $1673 leaves $1271 which I can only assume to be labor cost. The Technician was on my property for approx. 3 1/2 hours total. Giving him credit for 4 hours divided into this $1271 implies the labor cost per hour was $317.75. Based on this and without any detailed invoice from Speedy Tech Services, I am very unhappy about the outcome. They will not receive any recommendation from me to any of my many friends and acquaintances. Don't be fooled (like I did) by this business or any other who uses the "bait and switch" to overcharge you by using a "free inspection service" as the bait; which doesn't cost anything; and a friendly, seemingly competent technician to set the hook. Had this business provided what I asked for e.g. an itemized invoice showing exactly how the $1,673.00 charge was derived, I most likely would not have been upset. Royal A.
