Being in the people business it's important to make sure the corporate team is well coordinated to make sure that customer touch points are well covered and seamless from their dispatch and back office to making sure each step is handed off to the right person, could not go any smoother. From reaching out to Snowbird making the appointment, text message updates and connecting, my first in-person was Carlos. Carlos is The Service Tech Guy! Carlos's understanding of the systems, the importance of explaining the issues, and current condition of the unit (even to show the meter readings which I personally appreciated having a background in mechanical) he took the time to explore the options, costs and considerations for short and long term. When it was decided to go with the new system- Paul, The Sales Guy, was on the phone with me to review the A/C units, work through the pricing to get the best deal on this major (and can be nerve wracking) purchase. We decided on the unit and everything was scheduled. Matthew, The Install Guy, worked alone and very hard being respectful of property yet working smart to remove and install the new system onto the sweltering Florida sun (UGH!) He does an amazing job! From a business perspective (and I work with many companies, big and small, including startups) kudos to Jennifer Gleason, The Owner Gal, for marrying people and technology together to provide the best customer experience possible. Our heating suddenly stopped early this morning. Field technician Carlos Ramírez came a few hours after we called Thorpe. He checked the unit and found nothing wrong. The problem was due to the settings on our thermostat controls which he corrected in a heartbeat. In addition, Carlos took the time to explain to us why the problem occurred. In addition, he also educated us how we can prevent this problem from happening again. His professionalism and dedication demonstrated that he's definitely a real asset to Thorpe Heating and Cooling. .

Fairly new Lennox system broke down THREE times within a few months. Seems this company has…read morerecommended to a number of customers with Lennox systems that they install a temporary fan motor to fix problem, as permanent fan motors are on back order or parts are hard to come by. So they charge about $480 to install a temp fan motor PLUS charge $100 for a deposit on a permanent fan motor, then a few months later come back and charge another $450+ to install a permanent fan motor. If this company does this to several home homeowners with Lennox systems, obviously there is some kind of racket going on and customers getting ripped off OR Lennox is selling new defective air conditioners. I will NEVER buy another Lennox ac and will NEVER use this company again. Strange too that this company refuses to give itemized invoices for work performed so you basically have to guess what services you are being charged for.

The price we were quoted was exactly what we paid, even though he had to do some unexpected things. One unexpected thing was to change the placement of the air filter from the outside unit to the return duct inside the house. That entailed the owner special ordering a new return duct cover so it could accommodate the new filter, but no additional charge to us. The total price we paid ending up paying was $2000 to $3000 less than what two other companies quoted us. I would highly recommend AJ's for heating and air conditioning and also for duct cleaning.
