We picked up my tesla from Pollard towing yard. The car was completely dead and we could not get it on the auto trailer. The tow driver was going to help me by pushing it onto the trailer. The manager was watching him on camera and told him that he could not help me. In addition he told him to watch and make sure we didn't hit his truck. After almost 2 hours they towed it to a empty parking lot so we could get off their property. This is the Trump world that we live in. Owners of this business should be ashamed of the type of workers they hired. Very rude staff. They towed my car even though I had a valid guest tag on the dashboard clearly visible, and their reason was that they could see a resident parking tag for my complex under my infotainment console after peeping inside my car through the side windows (creepy). My resident tag didn't work so I took a guest tag at entry to the garage. If I was to exit that garage, I would have to pay per hour I spent in there. This makes me a guest at that point and I have every right to park on guest level if I am paying by the hour. If I have to enter as a guest and exit as a guest, I definitely should be able to park as a guest. Look at the difference between parking as a guest and parking as a resident. Went in to talk to them, the "lady" working the desk cut me off in the middle of saying what we were there for. Was extremely rude for no reason. Got towed for parking in a lot that was previously a lot for the venue I went to. But now the venue does not own that lot. More clear signage would have helped such as no parking for patrons of that venue anymore. It costed $300 to get my car out of the lot. At least they were still open at the hour I went. I purchased a parking pass through my leasing office & it's broken so I have to put it on my dash , last night I forgot to put it up there & my car got towed which I take accountability for. Although, the way this place went about the situation was HORRIBLE ! Over the phone the lady seemed nice and told me that I can come in and show them the pass so that's what I did. When I walked in I told her why I was there and which car was mine. One of the guys was in the chair leaned back with his feet up smoking a vape and watching something on his phone. The lady asked me what I'd like to do being as though over the phone she told me that I could show them my pass so I said "I can show y'all the pass" the guy hopped up hostile and said "come on then let's go" and then proceeded to follow me to my car . When I found the pass he told me "it has to be displayed even though it's broken" and then walked away. When he walked away I assumed everything was okay so I was getting ready to drive off because they were moving the tow trucks from in front of the gate. Another guy seen me driving and watched me and then came to my car window and aggressively said "GO PAY" I said "excuse me" he said "GO PAY" and then walked away. When he walked away he very aggressively backed a tow truck up to the front of my car and then he parked it in front of my car to block me in . I ended up not having my wallet and they don't accept Apple Pay. My friend offered to give his card numbers manually but because he was on the phone the rude lady at the front desk rolled her eyes , huffed and puffed and said "we don't accept virtual payments" . Very predoratory towing company. Not only do they damage the cars they've towed but they also purposely prey on college students in the area. They pick and choose what cars they want to tow as you can expect to find cars parked in the same areas untouched. They get off on taking hundreds of dollars from people ontop of charging fifty dollars per calendar day - meaning less than 24 hours after your car is towed, youre still issued a fee. Im convinced the people who work this job have some sort of weird power dynamic yet they're still most likely getting paid the bare minimum to try and make quota for the day quite sad when you think about it actually especially when they're known to fake positive reviews. I got my car towed at 8pm on a Friday night in my apartment complex. It was a new rental car and I did forget to place my parking permit on it. However, what really annoyed me with the service, the guy told me if I came in right before midnight on Friday night I could've gotten the storage fee of $50 taken off. What I don't understand is this place isn't open past 7pm on Fridays, so how is any of that physically possible? If my car got towed at 8pm, and they are closed at 7pm how am I supposed to pay before midnight? What they do is tow cars after they close so that they force these poor working people into paying an additional $50 to the already $280 ticket. I came in the next day after my work shift. These guys just illegally tow cars. Not only do they roam around the Aspen Heights parking lot looking for cars to tow (they weren't called by building management, they just show up and look for cars to tow), but they'll take your car and not send out any notice about the car being towed. I only found out my car was towed when I went to leave and my car wasn't there, and asked the Aspen Heights management what happened. On the phone, someone told me that it was $250 for towing, $30 a day for storage. But when I get there, the receipt says $280 for the tow, $50 a day for storage, then a random $80 fee. My car had scratches all over BOTH BUMPERS, and my door. They had no photos or footage of my car being towed to prove it was parked illegally, and the person at the front desk got nervous when I asked them to see the footage or pictures of my car be towed. I asked to see the pictures because they'd further prove that my car wasn't damaged before they took it. IF YOUR CAR IS TOWED AND YOU HAVE THE TIME, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE talk to an attorney and sue them, because their business is run incompetently. And they'll most likely give your car back for free if you show them papers from your attorney of your plan to sue, or you can go through with it and get your car + money for the troubles. Don't even ask these guys to tow your car if you're stuck on the side of the road. Call your insurance (best option) or call the police and they'll tow your car for you. Pollard's will damage your car. I also saw that there were a couple positive reviews on Yelp, so I clicked the profile picture of one of the one written by "Jed", and THE PROFILE PICTURE IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES TOWING A CAR. Service was horrible. Front desk(Nash) is rude, demeaning and condescending but I guess I would wanna kill myself too if I was this obese, ugly, couldn't grow a beard and I was a receptionist at a towing truck company(Nash). My car got towed from a pay per hour parking garage because I was parked overnight (the gate let me in, and you would think it wouldn't if you're not allowed to be there after hours). My undercarriage cover got ripped off by Pollards towing. Called countless times to get my damage compensated they told me I needed to drive hours back to Towson to see it in person, so I did, they told me no manager was in that day and to come back the next day. When I came back the manager(Perry) tried for so long to convince me that the damage wasn't bad and repairing it would be a waste of time and its not a big deal. I stood my ground and basically demanded they fix it or compensate my repairs. The manager(Perry) finally understood that I was stubborn and wasn't going to be walked over so he did fix and I was happy that they could fix it but got no compensation for my time/efforts/or the damage. The manager at least was somewhat helpful and understanding, although never showed me the before pictures he claimed to have. Bottom line is that I know nothing about cars, and the manager knows I know nothing about cars. But I do know that I know nothing about cars and to trust pollards word, so even if they were being truthful that it wasn't important, damage/undercarriage being ripped off, I will be demanding it gets fixed. They defiantly were expecting me (a solo teenage girl) to be a pushover but honestly I refuse and if you are unfortunate enough to end up at Pollards don't be afraid to make a scene to get the bare minimum of what you deserve. read more

Even though I am not a fan of having my vehicle impounded, I am pleased to say that management exceeded my expectations when I was faced with the dilemma of having to get my son's vehicle out of impound after nearly a month of storage fees. Long story short, my husband passed away and I have endured SIGNIFICANT debt trying to take care of my disabled son as well as his brothers. It took my disabled son several years to get his license so I eventually put his gift truck in storage because I could not afford the repairs. After several years in storage, I nearly gave up on trying to save money for repairs. The owner of the initial storage unit charged me well over an accumulative $7k in monthly storage fees. When I requested to get the vehicle out of storage, the owner had it towed to Pollards which devalued me. After several weeks being in the impound, the owner and company manager took time to help me with the towing and storage fees which meant a lot to me because I am still trying to get my sons vehicle repaired and did not have the full amount due for three plus weeks impound fees. I also feel better about this experience because many years ago, Pollards towed me when I was in my late twenties trying to survive college. I had sooo much hurt built up in my heart and had no idea how much humanity the owner genuinely has. It was definitely scary but I am relieved to know that they were willing to help. read more

My wife's car was towed while visiting my daughter at college because she didn't realize the guest pass she displayed was a weekend pass that did not cover weekdays. The egregious part is that the charge was $280 to tow the car about a mile. I called the company and asked what they would charge to tow a car about a mile. He said about $100. Then I asked why my wife was charged $280. He said that was because it was towed for being illegally parked, and that's the rate established by Baltimore County. What he didn't say is that that is the MAXIMUM rate they can charge. I said I was going to leave a negative review and he took offense on the basis that they provided "courteous" service. There is nothing courteous about charging $280, nearly 3 times what a reasonable cost would be. This is a rip off racket and companies that engage in it and charge the maximum allowable rate are unethical. If you want to read more about these egregious circumstances, there was an article written by the Baltimore Brew titled: "With towing reform shot down by the City Council, high fees and aggressive practices will continue in Baltimore". This was about Baltimore City but the same thing exists in Baltimore County. Then they claimed they towed it two months earlier and I owed them $3000 dollars. They said they had video proof of it and did show me a video with a date of December on it...which can easily be changed. I asked to see my car in their parking lot during the blizzard of January 2016 and the employees told me they didn't have to show me that and couldn't at the time (but they can show me something that says December on it? Convenient.) I had several pics of my car including a selfie of myself in it from after the date they claimed to have towed it but they said "it could be any similar car" even though my specific model is rare and was a very rare color. They tried to show me undelivered mail that needed a signature from December but it was mailed to an address I no longer lived at and I had already changed my address with the MVA so that seems very convenient as well. Pollard's Towing is completely unethical. Don't be fooled by the two positive reviews Yelp is showing you, look under the dozens of reviews that Yelp has blocked. The owner of Pollard's is rude and condescending. He and his team drive around towing cars without just-cause, no signs posted, no explanation to why they took the car. They just grab it and go, leaving the owner forced to pay an astronomical fee to get it back. Pollard's also doesn't have a set fee. Prices range up to whatever the owner wants to charge you. Part of a "poor tax" scheme that is incredibly bothersome and completely unethical. Falsely flagged for having a license plate light go out, I was given no option to replace the bulb, but these guys quickly charged $250 for an incredibly short tow. Of course, MD doesn't give you your tags back, even if you correct the issue (replacing a 79 cent bulb) immediately, so they charge $35 a day while I am awaiting my tags in the mail. Now there telling me I won't be able to get my car because my paper tags I would need to get hard tags before I could get my vehicle because the tags were expired & it was already Friday they could of been told me this before I came up there & wasted my time now there closed on the weekend & charging me for those extra two days.
