If you're reading this it's probably too late for you. By now, you may have realized Mark's Auto Body is not a place for regular, working-class people or regular (economy) cars. First, they kept telling me about alternate parts and that they couldn't use alternate parts if I wanted a certified Chevy repair. My ninja, this is a Chevy Cruze, not a Lambo, just make it run so I can reach my full-time job, attend my full-time graduate education, and run my part-time business. I couldn't care less what parts you use. But he just basically said if they didn't use the parts that cost more, they wouldn't be able to stand by their work (no warranty). Not a good look.... But secondly, when you try to say the damages are over $8k for a car only worth $9.5k (2011 Chevy Cruze) instead of totaling the car out... That's what you call a vulture and is mainly the reason why I believe Mark's Auto Body needs to take several seats. Shame on Autonation Chevy (now Ourisman Chevy) for referring me to them when I asked them for a Chevy dealership. Mark's Auto can respond to this review any way they desire, but pictures don't lie. Attached is a photo of my estimate from Mark's Auto (they call it a blueprint) vs a KBB private party valuation. Again, over $8k for a $9.5k (maybe) car. Instead of being honest and totaling it out to begin with, they wanted to go ahead on with the repair. Then they told me multiple times that I would be responsible for paying whatever the at-faults insurance company didn't pay. Yes, I got nervous and scared. I pleaded with them. I told them I'm in school and I work, and I don't have enough money to pay the difference (it was 2k after one adjustment). Especially because the accident wasn't my fault! They were NOT having it, lol. I said OK I don't want my car to be here anymore. Then, I was told it would be hundreds of dollars for them to remove my car from their shop. Also, at this point, I'm looking on Yelp and seeing reviews from people just like me. Lol, I don't know how their google listing rating is so high? Anyway, I called my insurance company, who declared total loss RIGHT AWAY. Both insurance companies (both at-fault's and mine) had nothing but negative things to say about Mark's Auto body practices. Greed, it's all greed. In the end, I didn't have to pay anything and I was relieved to have Nationwide swoop in and rescue me because I promise you these people over at Mark's are like robots with no emotion. Especially, Jason, he is rude when you ask probing questions to get the answers you need. You should probably only come here if you are rich and really, really LOVE your flashy, expensive car. BEWARE! Marks Auto Body claimed they're "Pro Consumer" but was anything but. Once they got my car, they treated me like dirt. I wish I'd never taken my vehicle to this place. On Friday, September 18, 2015, I dropped my BMW off at Mark's Body Shop for repair of two small almost unrecognizable dents. I'd given them the insurance company's estimate of about $1,483.95. On Tuesday, September 22, I received an estimate from Mark's for additional repairs of more than double the insurance company's estimate. Mark's has a bad reputation for overcharging; it added "final car wash" and "protection of undamaged vehicle parts", items other shops don't charge for. On Wednesday morning, I received a phone call from the insurance company that they were not paying the additional items and Mark's sent it a day late. I immediately called Mark's. I asked Tracy what my options were and why someone at Marks hadn't called to tell me this. She said to "file a complaint against the insurance company with the insurance administration or the Attorney General of Maryland." This could take months. When I told her another body shop accepted the insurance estimate "as is" without the added costs, she put me on hold and never came back. I called back and spoke with Mark, Jr. I asked why didn't he call the insurance company before the deadline and he said, "That's not our normal practice." It's basic common sense. I told him I didn't want him to do any repairs on my car and I was taking my car to another shop. He threatened that he'd email the name of his attorney, but never did. On Thursday morning, Mark, Jr. sent me an email stating that they were charging me $60 per day from the date I first brought my car in although they didn't have my car ready to be picked up. The contract I signed, which is FOUR PAGES long and small print, states I have 7 days after notification before I incur storage fees. I then sent Mark, Jr. SIX emails again requesting they NOT DO ANY WORK ON MY VEHICLE AND TO RESTORE IT TO THE EXACT CONDITION AS WHEN I BROUGHT IT WITH ITS ORIGINAL PARTS. I asked when I could pick up my car, but he never received a response. Late that evening, Mark Jr. sent an email with a final bill for $754.40 including $254.00 labor to "remove and re-install" (R&I) several parts, storage, an "administrative fee" and $500.00 "parts". His email said he'd need one hour advance notice before I picked up my car. They would not release my car until I paid. On Friday, September 25, at 1PM, I sent Mark an email informing him that I would be picking up my vehicle at 3PM. I arrived at 2:50PM. I went to hand Mark my credit card and he said, "This is a cash only transaction." I reminded him that the contract says "we accept all major credit cards" and he never told me I couldn't pay by credit card. He refused to discuss it and ran into his office. I left and returned at 4:30 PM with the cash. Mark said my car was still disassembled and not ready and he demanded I pay up front before getting it ready. He never told me this before. He would not allow me to see it. After I paid the $754.40 cash, Mark Jr. came out, walked up to me and for the first time told me, "You won't be able to drive it," and that I'd "need a tow." This was just before 5PM on a Friday! He then pulled my car out; it was unrecognizable and totally dismantled. The rear bumper, inside door panel, rear lights, rocker molding, trunk, door handle, and several other pieces were all removed. Mark and his guys put my car pieces all on the ground. They put the screws and other small parts in plastic baggies all over my trunk. When I asked for an itemized list of the "parts" he charged me $500.00 for, Mark said, "That's all we're giving you," and walked away. He closed and left me there without a tow, my parts all over the ground. I had to wait outside Mark's until the tow truck arrived. The new body shop let me leave my car throughout the weekend. On Monday, they did an inventory and discovered Mark's had not returned all of my parts and asked me to contact them. So, after all of the ill will, aggravation, frustration and nightmare with Mark's, I had to still deal with them for return of my parts worth $800.00. And Mark's never gave me an list of the parts I paid $500.00 for. I am entitled to a full refund of $754.40. Mark's charged me and I paid $254.00 labor to remove and re-install parts (R&I) but it refused to reinstall anything and spitefully returned my car in pieces. Marks did not keep me informed (it received a check from the insurance company for repairs, tried negotiating with the insurance adjuster behind my back to keep the business (and the check)) and had the nerve to charge me for storage. Mark's was rude, uncooperative, unethical, unprofessional and downright nasty (and has a reputation for suing insurance companies). I would never entrust my or anyone else's vehicle to Marks. I'll tell everyone do not use Marks Body Shop or recommend them EVER! read more

This is not under the same management that's getting these good reviews. I would not do business again and my car is still incomplete after month in their shop. I got my car back with shop dust inside and out they rush me and my car so they could dodge paying for my rental smh. I spent $13,000 with this shop and my car was not repaired properly. I received extremely poor customer service on top of it. Mark my back seats look horrible. You all lied to me; it does not take five weeks to repair a car. Jason told me it took almost four weeks for my back window glass to come in, I called GM and the glass only takes two days to be delivered. It was never on back order neither was my leather for my back seats on back order. When a customer wants to speak to you after they left work concerning their car you should always be available. I had a very bad experience and spent a lot of money in the process. You all were so rude that you would not even go over the repairs. read more

[READ THIS BEFORE TAKING YOUR CAR TO MARK'S BODYSHOP] In short: *MAKE SURE YOUR INSURANCE HAS A GOOD HISTORY OF WORKING WITH THEM. (explained why below) *MAKE SURE YOU READ THEIR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING. THEY WON'T EXPLAIN TO YOU. If you are dealing with an insurance company to get your car fixed, I do not recommend them. It's going to be a headache. Please note, I have no knowledge of their capabilities of how they repair the car because I decided to change the repair shop. The first thing I heard from them is that they have a bad history with Travelers and Statefarm. Maybe you have a different insurance company. You might be fine. Mark's Bodyshop was chosen because they were listed as my brand's Certified Collision Center. When I brought the car, they assured me that the car would be repaired as good as the previous condition and they will work very hard to fix the issue following the Audi Standard. I liked the confidence in Jason and I gave the car to them. Next process, insurance inspectors came to inspect the car, and the problem started there. I get an angry message from Mark's Bodyshop that inspectors were lying about the estimate. I get a call from the insurance agent that the Bodyshop was not cooperative. One of them were lying and sadly I got stuck in the middle trying to mitigate the situation. The original estimate from the insurance was roughly 3k; the Bodyshop estimated 7k. Based on my doubts for insurance companies, I did fought for the shop. On their behalf, I tried everything that I could do to convince the insurance to pay. Weeks passing by going back and forth between the shop and insurance company, I thought I need get quotes from different collision centers so that I could justify the asking to the insurance. Well, it did not go well from there. When I told the shop that I need to pick up the car to get different opinions the shop came back to me with surprising answers. THAT I OWE THEM MONEY which includes $300 admin fee, $60/day storage fee, hours put for dismantling the car for an estimate, etc... if I do not pay the fee, they will not release the vehicle. It was the moment of realization how they do business. I called the insurance right away and informed that I would move my car. They were happy to pay for the fees that the shop charged and still towed my car to a certified collision center. I saw the charges from the shop and it was above 2k. So unfortunately, I am leaning toward thinking that they acted as if they were helping me to take care the issue and maybe they were. While I have no idea, yet they still made good money out of it. I heard I was one of a few clients from the insurance company that had changed their repair facility from them. Although, it would have been great for all parties to play nicely, my overall experience was not very pleasant. As mentioned in other reviews, they are prompt in a communication though. [Update] It's been a while but I should inform here that my vehicle was fixed from another Audi certified shop near by with ABSOLUTELY NO issues. I drive over an hour to come to Mark's Body Shop, not only for the excellent work they put into my vehicles everytime, but also the customer service. They have advocated for me every time I need work done on my vehicles. This time a deer ran into my SUV, and the damage was quite severe, and the insurance company wasn't trying to fix all of the damage. They low balled the damage, and wanted to order cheaper parts. Mark's Body shop wouldn't allow it. They put in the extra work with the insurance company to make sure my vehicle came out as nice as it was before the deer hit me. They handle so much behind the scenes that I didn't have the time for, I could never thank them enough! My SUV is immaculate! There is no other shop that I would take my vehicles too. This is the only place where I would bring a vehicle for body repairs in Baltimore. I've had an Audi A5 and an A4 worked on here and they are true professional perfectionist. If you want your car returned to factory condition, Mark's is a no brainer. Mark's Body Shop did a superb job on my 335i after I messed it up really well on a median. They certainly look after the customer's interest, as opposed to the insurance company which will do what it can to take shortcuts with using refurbished or non-OEM parts. That being said, there was a lot of tug-of-war between Mark's and the insurance company with a lot of one throwing the other under the bus and vice versa. However, most of that is on the insurance company trying to save money. So be patient getting your car back, knowing that it will come back the way it was before your accident. I hope I never have another accident, but I would only want to go to Mark's if it (God forbid) ever happens. read more

I can't say enough good things about this shop. Not only are they professional and courteous, but they do excellent work. Insurance companies will try to steer you away from them, because they know Mark's won't cut any corners. My insurer said the repair would cost under $800. When the work was finished, it was almost $4,000. And Mark's made sure it was all covered and done right. I'm a personal injury attorney and I deal with auto insurance carriers daily. I know the tricks they use to steer their insureds and claimants towards cheap repair work, especially with shops they own or have relationships with. When I needed repair work on my Audi A6, I chose Mark's because I had so many clients tell me good things about them. I'm glad I did, because they used OEM parts and my car looks brand new. And I'll continue to refer them because they're honest and they stand by their work.There's a reason Mark's is certified by so many major manufacturers - it's because they fix cars the way they're supposed to be fixed. If you don't believe me, just go there and ask them about your repair needs. They'll show you examples of damaged parts that insurance carries didn't want to replace, or crooked estimates that wouldn't cover half the required work. I'm with GEICO and had an amazing experience with this body shop. As mentioned in some other reviews, you may have a less favorable experience with other insurance companies, so I would call them and make sure that they have a good history with your insurance company. I drive a MK7 VW GTI and found this place because they were VW Certified. I had what looked to be a minor collision with the front grille, which GEICO estimated to be around $700. I dropped off the car to Mark's (they had a 1 week wait initially before a slot opened up) and they quickly gave a re-estimate of over $3000, as the work extended to the entire front bumper and condenser. GEICO approved the following days and they began work. It took 3 business days between approval of the work and completion - and it looks absolutely fantastic. All OEM parts, looks like it just rolled out of the factory - and they even detailed the interior for me! Jason and Tracy are very professional at their jobs and I would never consider taking my car anywhere else so long as I am in the area. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone, especially if you have GEICO. It will be a hassle free and stress free experience. read more

I just picked my car up from Marks and I can say they did a very good job. Customer Service was excellent. My car was involved in a hit and run accident and I can honestly say Jason kept me informed every step of the way when it came down to my car. Progressive worked well with them and they worked well with Progressive to get my car fixed and get me back up and running. I would have given them 5 stars but they forgot about my rims needing to be replaced. But as soon as they realized their mistake they fixed it and had my car cleaned and ready for me to drive. I will recommend this shop to anyone that is in need of a body shop. My car is running great and I can honestly say they didn't cut any corners or put after market parts on my Nissan. I was involved in a fender bender. The other driver was at fault, and her insurance was through Geico. The estimator from geico said the damage was $1100.00 dollars. Mark's Body Shop dis-assembled the car and found the damage to be close to $5000.00 dollars. They are Audi certified, and would use nothing but new Audi parts. They stood their ground and Geico took care of the repair using new parts at no charge to me. The work was excellent. The repair work is not visible to the naked eye. The car looks new. Wow! Simply Wow!! Took my 2014 Ram 1500 in for repair. From the time I walked in the door to when I picked up my truck I was treated like family. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgable. Insurance companies can be difficult to deal with but Mark's handled all contact with mine after I made the initial call. When I picked my truck up I couldn't believe the quality of the repair. They cleaned my truck extremely well. So well I didn't want to drive it in the melting snow. I was in an accident and found Mark's on Audis website as a certified Audi repair shop. From the time I spoke to Tracy on the phone to schedule the appointment, to the time I took it in for repairs, until the time I picked my vehicle up for repairs, she was nothing but friendly and professional. The gentleman who handled my repairs was awesome as well (sorry I don't remember his name). They were very thorough when reassessing the damages to my vehicle and ensured that EVERYTHING was repaired correctly (beyond the insurance company's original estimate). In addition, I was having some difficulties with Enterprise and these two immediately took the wheel, told me not to worry and that they would handle Enterprise and that they did! After a collision with my Audi A3 in stop and go traffic on I95, I called Audi roadside assistance and the tow truck driver towed my car to Mark's. I learned that Mark's is one of only two Audi-certified collision repair shops in Maryland - and how lucky I was! What a top-notch collision repair shop! The staff was courteous and professional each time I called to check on the progress of the repair. I was particularly impressed when we ran into an issue with the first independent appraiser that my insurance company hired. Instead of being caught in the middle between the insurance company and the body shop, I was so relieved when Tracy at Mark's offered to work directly with the insurance company to resolve the issue. Another appraiser was hired and the repair was completed on schedule - actually a day ahead of schedule. My car looks fabulous and the repair has a lifetime warranty. I drive a 2013 Audi S5 coupe in white (not pearl white). My car was struck from the passenger side fender area causing substantial damage to the fender, lower bumper, lower grille, destroying the headlight and damage to the corner of the hood. I knew at that point I wanted the vehicle repaired at a CERTIFIED Audi repair facility. This shop is the ONLY certified Audi repair facility in Baltimore City and is an INDEPENDENT "unbiased" repair facility where there number one concern is the Customer. NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES. Therefore, they give their honest professional estimates based on their expertise in the business. Anyhow, they treated me with the utmost respect. The customer service was excellent! Tracey is fantastic! and they informed me every step of the way as to when my initial estimate was finished after pulling parts off my car to do a "deep inspection" to see if other damage had been sustained. They informed me when the genuine Audi parts were received at their facility (non aftermarket), when the car was being worked on, when it had to be towed to Audi, and even an expected promise date. They had my car for practically a month. BUT STILL finished the work prior to the expected return date! I look at my vehicle and I CAN NOT even tell that the vehicle was hit. I have had previous accidents (as we all have) with luxury cars, and in every other repair that I have had I COULD ALWAYS tell that something was a little off. But I chalked it up to being "normal". Which it is not. Nonetheless, I picked up my car and it was in immaculate condition! Again I couldn't even tell it was struck. Prior to going to Marks Body Shop I read some of the other Yelp reviews about bad situations. Well I am here to tell you from my perspective my experience with them was pleasant and easy going! All in all, I hope to never see any one there again......and i mean that with respect...In the sense that i hope No one hits me again! :) read more

DO NOT go to Mark's Auto Body unless you don't mind making him wealthy by overcharging clients on insurance claims. He consistently charges beyond industry standard rates and plays it off as the insurance companies ripping you off. Recently had a no-fault insurance claim on a higher end vehicle and went to Mark's because they are "CERTIFIED but, what a MISTAKE!! Mark's tried to charge me over 30% out of pocket expenses outside of the insurance claim. Mark's Auto Body would not guarantee a simple paint match for a fender replacement and required a waiver accepting a possible non match in paint finishes. Mark's has everyone sign a "NOTICE OF UNDERESTIMATED INSURER LOSS RESERVE" AGREEMENT" which essentially says that after your insurance picks up your loss, the balance is on you to pay. Mark's makes sure there is ALWAYS a balance to pay by attempting to make insurance companies look bad and not performing within industry standards to keep things honest. Don't be swept in when they tell you your satisfaction is their goal. Not true. They work hard to line their pockets. Mark's Auto Body charges at least 20% to 30% higher rates than all the other local shops who do just as professional work. Be especially careful if you decline the out of pocket charges and cancel. To get your vehicle released, Mark's Auto Body charges anywhere from $60.00 to $150.00 per day plus incidentals to store your vehicle even though it sits outside exposed to all the elements while torn apart waiting for parts. That's another way to take advantage of the customer. Mark's Auto Body makes the claim that they need to deem your vehicle not drivable in order to take possession of it immediately for tear down to assess unforeseen damages for the claims adjuster to inspect, but then lets it sit for weeks prior to actually working on it, arguing with the adjuster and client over acceptance, methods and reimbursements, thus racking up big dollars in fees that get passed on to you. Mark's Auto body would not release my vehicle to take it elsewhere until I signed a formal "TERMINATION OF CONTRACT" requiring a witnessed signature, a WAIVER to RELEASE them from any DAMAGE to the car while in their compound, and also an arbitrary document that Mark states is a Maryland required form authorizing the charges to a credit card, but with a NON-DISPUTE in it. When you call Mark's Auto Body the initial recording will advise you that ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED, they also repeat this when you reach an actual person, instantly causing your dis-trust antenna to go up. Go with it. Dishonest and greedy guys. If you don't believe me, check out their reviews on Yelp. Sounds like Mark's Auto Body isn't Baltimore's top dog after all and belongs in the doghouse instead. Exceptional service. My Porsche Cayman was rear ended and I live two hours away. I chose Mark's because they are known for the skill of the work they do. They were incredibly accommodating when coordinating with me so it was convenient to drop off and pick up my vehicle. They made my vehicle look better then before it was damaged. They worked with the insurance company of the individual who hit me making sure their estimate matched the insurance estimate. I got rear ended and decided to take my car here, as they were certified for Audi repairs. The damage looked minor, so Geico had estimated it at ~$400. After removing the bumper, much more damage was found bringing the total closer to $4k. The shop took care of dealing with the insurance company, and had the repairs approved within 24 hours. Some parts had to be ordered, which took quite a long time to arrive at the shop, but the shop kept me constantly updated. The staff was very friendly and respectful, and always made sure I understood what was going on. Hopefully, I won't need to, but if the need for body work ever comes about again, I plan on taking my car back. read more

Ineffable! (too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words!) My experience with Mark's Body Shop was just that! INEFFABLE! From the beginning they were courteous, on time, and very professional. They worked with my Insurance Company easily and effortlessly. The work that was done on my car is, for me, excellent! My car looks brand new. Unless I tell you - you will never know that it had been in an accident. I'm grateful for the service that they provided, and will continue to provide, if I need them in the future - as I was given a lifetime warranty as long as I have my car. There staff handled everything with the insurance and had a rental car waiting when I dropped off my car. My husband and I happened upon Mark's Body Shop completely by accident! Pun intended. Anyway, when our vehicle was hit and severely damaged we took it to a local independent shop, only to find out the owner sold the business to a national chain. Seemed like they were doing a good job but we noticed they would always respond via phone call, never anything in writing so there would be no paper trail. Three long months later, we had the vehicle back yet after another month we noticed molding coming loose in several places. Rather than going back to the chain, we took it for a post repair inspection at Mark's. Well, that was eye opening! Not only had our car not been repaired properly, but the chain went against manufacturers safety standards and further damaged it making it unsafe to drive. Long story short, Mark helped us get the situation corrected to our satisfaction. While the situation was being resolved, we were in communication with Mark's every day... but most important, they made us feel like family! You cannot ask for better service than that! read more

I have never had to use a body shop before, cause I never had a problem/accident with any of my vehicles. However, I purchased a brand new 2016 VW Passat in May 2016, truly loved this car and it's performance. Leaving work one day I was traveling eastbound and a 93 Chevy/Blazer was traveling westbound. The car took my right away making a left turn, there was no left turn traffic arrows/lights which means you have to wait until it's clear to make your turn. Anywho, the driver nearly hit me directly on the driver side of my car, I could see it happening that I was going to be hit but wasn't able to avoid her. So I tried to maneuver my vehicle which means my car made contact on the passenger side (thank God, or I would have been messed up). I thought my car was a total lost and I only had it less than two months. The passenger side door, right side bumper and the hood on the right were crushed. But the car could still run, looked a wreck, never thought it would be right again even after they told me it could be fixed. Well, let me tell you when I picked up my car from Mark's Body Shop, it looked just as good as the day I got it brand new. My co-workers that saw pictures of the damage before thought I had bought a new car same color and all. I am totally satisfied and would recommend Mark's Body Shop to anyone that wants totally professional workmanship. I am so pleased!!! read more
