Things started off smoothly. Baltimore Body Shop and Service was willing to fix damage to my bumper…read morefrom a minor fender bender. They told me it would take 5 business days. On the fifth business day, I called in the morning to see when my car would be ready for pickup. They told me it would be ready after 12PM. Then, I received an email about the fog light plug at 2PM that day (email attached for review). I thought it was odd since my car had been at their shop for 5 business days and a weekend and this was not noted previously. I refused to get it repaired, and I wanted my car back for the evening. I had to drive to DC that night. After I received my car, I realized that my bright lights did not work and my left turn signal was rapidly clicking. This made me think that something was not right with the car after I picked it up. I scheduled an appointment that evening on the day I got my car back with a different mechanic used by family and friends around the DC area for the following day. It turns out that wires on the driver's side were not reconnected after re-attaching the bumper and harness back on the car. The fog light plug was fine, but the wire to it was cut and needed to respliced for it to be connected again. There were missing bumper clips (see additional bumper clips in the list of materials) that had to be added to the bumper to secure it into place, so my bumper was not even secured to the car after the work had been done to it at the Baltimore Body Shop and Service. There was even a missing bulb from the front of my car! I attached the report from the second mechanic who had to re-plug the wires, reconnect the cut wires, replace bulb, and add the bumper clips to secure the bumper back into place. I had to pay more money to remedy the situation, since it was dangerous to operate my car (bumper could have fallen off; brights did not work; left turn signal was not working - fast clicking sound). If this task cannot be performed well, please do not offer to do it.

I brought my car in for the Maryland Vehicle Safety Inspection. After doing my own research, it became clear that not everything on the list of repairs were safety-related or required by the state. Only after pressing the issue did the mechanic (named Malik) agreed and revised the list, which already raised red flags about trustworthiness of this shop. The experience only got worse from there. I dropped my car off early the next morning, as instructed, and called later in the day to ask Malik when it might be ready so I could arrange a ride. Instead of a simple, helpful response, I was met with outright hostility. When I asked, "Do you expect the car to be ready today or tomorrow?" Malik curtly replied: "Your car will be ready when it is ready." I asked my question a different way. Malik replied with the same exact response, " It will be ready when it is ready" I tried to explain that I just needed an estimate to plan my transportation. Malik responded "What part of what I told you don't you understand?" This level of rudeness and unprofessionalism toward a paying customer is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic respect should be the bare minimum, especially when you're entrusting someone with your vehicle and paying for their time and expertise. I cannot in good faith recommend Fell Point Auto to others. There are plenty of competent and respectful auto professionals in Baltimore , Fell Point Auto isn't one.

Justin was so incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to give me a competitive quote. With some digging for aftermarket parts he was able to knock off nearly $300! All the reviews are correct-- they are so friendly and helpful, fair, and the work is perfect. EDIT: To add to this, just the next day my car part was delivered as promised and I was able to swing by when I was available to get my repair in under 30 minutes while I sipped coffee at the bagel bistro just a little walk over. They had my car for 12 weeks giving me no updates. The work itself was poor quality and didn't solve the issues I brought my car in for. The first time I went to pick up my car, I pointed out multiple issues where the work was incomplete, pieces were falling off my car and not secured well, or not fixed at all. The doors they replaced were not even painted completely and they left the inside of my car a disaster. They have since been completely unresponsive when I tried to follow up. I have had to go through my insurance company to hear any news. I selected them doing searches on Yelp and Google and realized when I went to pay for the work, they off discounts if you leave a 5 star review... so that is why it looks like a good option. I recommend going anywhere else in the area. They apparently require that you pay in cash, which they never told me until I was there picking up the car, and then I did not have that amount of cash in hand, told me they could only use a card with a surcharge. I was given a 3-day window for completion and got a call back by the end of the 2nd day to come get my car. Checking out was easy and before I knew it, I was out in the lot looking at my car. Not only were the repairs flawless, I believe my car has been washed...at least rinsed off. The overall repair, while not cheap, is immaculate. Three hours after I had followed up, Joe calls me to actually do a consultation on what was needed. He clearly had not even looked at my car and told me I would not get it back for two more days. When I said this was unacceptable and that he should have told me some time in the last two days, he bullied me with gaslighting (insulting my parents??) and demanded that if I did not what I was doing at 8 PM on a Friday to get my car immediately, he would have my car impounded. Go anywhere else. Cars are complex, but agreements are simple. This shop does not communicate well.
