They have goats, chickens, peacocks, a variety of birds, chickens and roosters and cool art displays. We saw signs for paintballing and hayrides though I didn't see any wagons operating. The main reason we stopped was to try the Okie Pies. I had never heard of them and I am always looking to try new things. They remind me of a large empanada or handheld meat pie. We tried 3 savory and 1 dessert Okie Pie. They were out of blueberry so we settled for Apple and it was good but super sweet. I love desserts and unless you're a diehard apple pie fan you may find this to be too sweet. Savory flavors were salsa verde, chicken pot pie, and blueberry BBQ pork. The blueberry BBQ sounds odd but it was everyone's favorite. Everyone was very friendly and there was even someone who let the kids pet the goats and roosters. We also picked up some dates, which are absolutely delicious. I love mine stuffed with good Irish butter and cheddar, it's the perfect sweet and savory combo. My wife prefers hers with Skippy peanut butter, and she absolutely loves them. As always, the staff were wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. It's become a bit of a tradition for us, and we'll definitely keep coming back every time we're in the area.

Quail Run Ranch is a unique and one-of-a-kind ostrich farm that is basically out in the middle of…read morenowhere. You might not realize how huge and dangerous some of these birds really are, but they average about 9 feet to 12 feet tall and from 250 to 350 pounds. And, they can be quite deadly. During the mating season, the males will instantly try to attack you if you get close. They've got about 6 to 10 different ostriches in separate fenced off areas. If you pay a few dollars for a tour, they will walk you down and show you the different ostriches they have, as well as provide some pretty interesting ostrich facts. Their feet are crazy as they are the only two toed bird on earth. Looking at them it is easy to see how they are related to dinosaurs because it looks just like a dinosaur foot. You can also buy ostrich eggs if they have them available, which are equal to about 24 to 36 eggs. The flavor and consistency is actually pretty good as well and very similar to chicken eggs. They also sell honey and a bunch of other things. Also, in certain times of year, you can go and see the baby ostrich chicks that they raise. If you're feeling adventurous, this is definitely worth a trip, especially if you have kids. This has become a fun stop we started making on our annual visit to the California Poppy Preserve in Antelope Valley. I would call ahead and see what's going on with tours and everything else. I understand to keep the crowd controlled and make sure the farm doesn't get trampled. The weather was perfect so we took our time, walked to the back of the rows and moved forward as we picked. They were red and beautiful, grabbed our baskets once they were full and headed back. He did buy some strawberries and honey comb inside the Little Purple Barn. I think there should be a daily checks before opening to check for the over ripened pumpkins and toss those to animals in the petting zoo. I stepped on pieces of squishy pumpkins that was close to other pumpkins that looked ok and it was slippery. I would still recommend coming here. The staff is very kind, lots of shade and the layout was very nice. This place was packed! I gotta say even for how full it was, other customers were just as nice and patient waiting their turns for photo ops.
