I gave Carson's a call and asked if they could come out and lay winter rye for me in the yard and aerate the yard. Communication was smooth, they called me right back and we setup a day and time. They were a bit late but they let me know that they were running behind so I appreciate the notice. When they showed up they did a great job in the yard they even leveled out the yard as well as they could before aerating and laying the new seed, they gave me clear instructions on how to handle the yard to get the best results from the rye. Very helpful and not hard to communicate with, highly recommend and I'll be using them again in the future for my landscaping needs.

When they arrived, they explained the steps they were going to do and assessed the work. They really took their time digging out the roots that could cause problems in the future and even repaired a portion of the line that was broken (not from their work). They stayed late to make sure all the repairs were completes properly with no leaks and then cleaned up the areas better then they looked before. They far exceeded my expectations and the price was fair for the amount of time and effort the spent. I would most definitely recommend.

We got 4 other quotes for the yard before we finally called Mark. He was like a breath of fresh air! He was able to create our dream yard well within our budget. The other people we talked too either had prices twice our budget (and we didn't really want anything crazy) or one quoted prices so low, we were worried about the quality and whether he was really quoting us for everything. Marks price point was perfect for us. And his work was better than we could have hoped. He has been doing this for a long time and had fantastic ideas that made our yard even better. We wanted 6 fruit trees and he had great suggestions for more trees and shrubs to complete our yard since we really had no idea what else to plant. We asked for a fire pit area as well and wanted turf along our side yard so we could turn it into a play yard for our kids. The fountain with the gorgeous flower bed was all his idea. The most valuable part of using Mark though is that he is very accommodating. The yard was done very quickly, and the guys he employed to do the cement work, turf and our sliding gate, were also reasonably priced and provided the highest quality work. At one point we realized our cement boarder was further from the wall then we wanted, we told him, and he promptly fixed it. Also a few patches of grass died and he quickly fixed those as well. He added gorgeous lights to illuminate the trees. He also thinks ahead, so he added a special irrigation system to our trees so the roots will not grow up and ruin the cement boarder. On top of all this, he is easy to reach, extremely friendly and dedicated to making you happy. Make no mistake about it, his prices may seem too good to be true but he work is the best in town!

The evening unfolded beautifully with a delicious dinner catered by Bord A Petite, an open bar flowing with ease, and a thoughtfully curated silent auction featuring artwork selected by curator of exhibitions and collections Victor Gonzales alongside executive director and chief curator Gilbert Vicario. And the décor? Absolutely dreamy. Thousands of balloons were transformed into whimsical sea creatures all floating jellyfish and playful octopuses that created an enchanting, underwater fantasy throughout the space. I was so wrapped up in the moment: laughing, exploring, and enjoying the evening with my sister and her friends that I barely took any photos of the artwork itself... which just means you'll have to experience it firsthand.

It was lovely to be one of the only few people in the museum. They always have great bakersfield and kern county focused exhibits. This time we saw bakersfield standards exhibit which was such a lovely look at all the things that make the valley and its history and culture unique. It made me proud to be a valley girl.
