My absolute favorite is the skin because it absorbs most of the seasoning. The sides are okay, they compliment the chicken well. Their horchata is pretty good, definitely worth a try. This place really is like a hole in the wall with delicious chicken. I've been here a few times and always have taken my food to go, there is not much room inside. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly, parking can be a problem though. I went with one other person and we shared the Half Chicken Combo ($15) with a purple corn drink. The half chicken combo included four pieces of heavenly chicken and two sides. For our sides, we shared the massive "side" of fries and coleslaw. The fries included skin still on them. They were pretty good. The coleslaw didn't have much mayo like other places yet it was amazing and also a large side order. The actual chicken was perfectly cooked using a fire grill. It was served with their green Aji sauce which went with it perfectly. So good! The purple corn drink was also pretty good. The pricing is cheap for the quality and amount of food you get. This place is small. It's more of a grab and go type of place. You order at the register and they call your number when it is ready. While we were there we saw a lot of locals picking up food after work. There's about six tables inside but they are crammed and kinda dirty. Bf and I got one of the rotisserie chickens, a side of aji and an order of fries. The fries were hand cut, and were easily the best part of the meal. If you're a fan of rotisserie chicken, please look no further. Pollo ala brasa is hands down the most delicious and unique rotisserie chicken in Los Angeles. I've tried Peruvian food in various rated spots all over LA and nothing comes close to the smokey and delicious food they serve here. Peruvian food had a lot of Asian influences so for my Asian and Asian American Yelpers who have never tried this place or Peruvian food, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the similarities that some dishes share with East Asian cuisine. Get the chicken for sure! As far as sides, the beet salad is surprisingly refreshing and delicious. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 64/100 Disappointing. Especially when I starved myself all day because I had my heart set on having their supposedly amazingly delicious chicken. All 5 of their parking spots were taken and couldn't find street parking close enough. So after circling the block a couple of times, I decided to just park at the market right behind it. It's smaller than it looks. There's probably no more than 3 feet between the order counter and the door. Went for the quarter chicken with two sides - rice and coleslaw. "To go, please?" They do have seating - they can fit about 24 people, at most. I was outta there in less than 5 minutes. Popped the container open soon as I got home and its immediate appearance didn't give a good impression. But I was still in hopes it's gonna be great. My quarter chicken was 85% breast that barely had any skin and the rest was a teenee piece of wing. And that 85% was completely DRY. I got thirsty with every bite I took, boy, it was NOT good. I couldn't eat more than 3 or 4 bites. The best part was what little skin it came with and that small wing - which wasn't a lot, so I was left hungry. I'll probably give it another try. There's a reason so many speak so highly of their product and I'm hoping to find out next time. I'll most likely ask for dark meat then. For now, though?! Thumbs down. read more
