It has taken me way too long to review this place. I apologize. Wow. King Mediterrano. I've never eaten in, but I've picked up food from here twice and have enjoyed their food at my sister's house at least one other time. The first thing I don't understand is how this place is in Torrance rather than Redondo Beach. I don't mean that I don't understand why they chose Torrance over Redondo Beach; I mean that I just don't understand the two cities' boundaries very well, because this feels like straight-up North Redondo to me. The second thing I don't understand is how this place hasn't expanded or multiplied or otherwise won the hearts and minds and stomachs of South Bayers near and far. But maybe it already has. The third thing I don't understand is why I don't come here more often. It's not that far from my sister's house, and I was dog-sitting there earlier this year. . . . I'm fresh out of things I don't understand. What I do understand is that the owners of this place (an Armenian brother and sister?) are amazing. The food is so good and fresh and flavorful. The menu is kind of all over the place, which in most cases is a red flag, but in the case of more than one restaurant owned and operated by Armenians (I'm including my cousin's restaurant before he sold it and retired), the more different items on the menu, the better. Or at least it's not a red flag. I promise. The combo deal is legit, but even without that deal, the prices are good, especially when you consider the food quality. The only good thing is that the portions are extremely big . You can feed 4 people with one portion . The service is great!! However, I have to be honest for other people to be aware. It is a smallish window with covered patio seating. No indoor seating. Good for takeout or small groups. Plenty of parking. I've never really heard of Mexican Mediterranean fusion, but it kind of works. We ordered the family combo for lunch in hopes of feeding 5 dudes and 2 kids. Boy was there a lot of food and then some! Huge box of rice, another full of falafel, one for salad, one for sauces, and a random box of quesadillas. The meat was split between chicken and gyro, plus pita. Everything tasted great. The gyro was not classically shaved meat but more like cut burger patties but that wasn't exactly bad. There was plenty of food to take home for another meal or two. King Mediterrano still reigns supreme in South Bay Mediterranean cuisine! Was fortunate to be a dinner guest at a recent meeting of 150 or so people. KM was the caterer. Diners at my table raved about the delicious hummus. Salad was tasting fresh and healthy. Pita bread and hummus, grilled chicken, and seasoned rice were all on point.. Ok, I will preface by saying the ability to order online and the pickup window were super convenient. There is a ton of parking since it's in a shopping center, and the service here very helpful, quick, and nice. Lastly, the other positive for this establishment is the quantity of food. If you're looking to get full for cheap, this is your place. However, overall I did not like the food. They do market themselves as "fusion", which I guess allows them to have creative freedom over what is being served. I ordered the King Family pack, which is expected to feed 4-5 people, but in reality maybe served 7-8 people. I got 1/2 Chicken Shawarma and 1/2 Gyro as the protein, and I believe they are using the terms "shawarma" and "gyro" incorrectly... what we received was a half container of super dry chicken breast chunks and what looked like flattened hamburger patties in the other half of the styrofoam container. Neither one of these meats were prepared on a spit and shaved. The seasoning and flavor was not terrible - maybe close-ish to using a more authentic Mediterranean spice blend, but the meat was SO dry. The chicken breast chunks were disappointing, since we were expecting true shawarma (thinly sliced meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie). Same with the meat patties - which seemed like thin hamburger sliced - instead of seasoned shaved meat cooked on a rotisserie. I ordered a side of falafels, which were just OK... I wouldn't get any of those protein options ever again. It did come with a full (packed to the brim) styrofoam container of pretty decent rice and a full (also packed to the brim) of "greek salad" which contained mostly frisee and spring mix topped with diced tomatoes, diced white onions, sliced black olives, and an unusually large container of ranch dressing (and two sides of what tasted like an italian dressing or vinaigrette dressing). We also got a box of hummus (probably the best tasting thing I ate), a box of potato salad (a little runny for my taste, but flavor was ok), and pita bread (that was a little hard and stale). We lastly got a box of cheese quesadillas (very random). I didn't get to try these but they didn't look extraordinary and a bit greasy. I added on a few sauces for $6 extra - 2 really small containers of tzatziki, 2 small containers of garlic sauce, and 2 small containers of tahini. All in all, I wouldn't come back here and I wouldn't recommend this to any of my network (despite the high ratings). I WOULD probably recommend this to people who have a goal of getting full for cheap, but I was very disappointed with the quality and flavors of my $70+ meal (as well as everyone else who partook in this family meal). read more

It has expanded quite a bit, sitting is outside, you order your food and they will open the window when the food is ready. We ordered 2 bowls and a plate, all of them were equally as big, big portions here. The menu might have changed from a long time ago. The chicken schwarma was a little on the dry side and they did not give the garlic side for the meats. Overall it was good, but not as great as I remembered it. 2026 update: This place is still pretty good. Been coming here for more than 10 years and there's a lot more direct competition around now. I haven't seen the siblings in years and not sure if they still work here. Overall, I feel their original menu is still the best, anything that came after Halal Guys to compete is hit or miss (eg king bowl). Don't even know if they added or changed things to compete with Kebab Shop, but I mostly stick to original menu anyway. Today I got the fusion burrito (falafel & gyro) as per usual. Feels a little lighter than the past, but still pretty huge. I think it was still great despite what others are saying, wasn't dry for me, good amount of Kings sauce already inside, more than enough with the extra on the side (which hasn't always been the case in the past). I do acknowledge that there has been times in the past few years that the food didn't stand out, or wasn't great, but their loaded fries/nachos and fusion burrito have never disappointed me.
