Pulled up to Nam Vietnamese Kitchen early and it was the best move. No wait, great energy, and super friendly service. The decor is modern, stylish, and surprisingly cozy, definitely one of the cleaner, more polished Vietnamese spots in Gardena. The food slapped. Fresh, flavorful, and comforting without being heavy, "I'm lying, I was full and loving every moment of it." I left already thinking about what I'm ordering next time. This place is an easy repeat visit. Miguel C.

5 Stars! A buddy of mine was in town recently, and after turning down every lunch spot I suggested, he said, "Trust me, we're going to NAM Kitchen." He kept telling me the food was great. Looking back, he definitely undersold it...because "great" doesn't even come close. The food was AMAZING! On my first visit, I ordered the Lomo Saltado, and from the very first bite, I knew I'd be back. The flavors tasted authentic, the steak was tender, and everything came together perfectly. It's one of those meals where you stop talking because you're too busy enjoying every bite. The crazy part is I almost ordered the Oxtail Fried Rice that first time. So on my second visit, I finally did, and wow! That dish absolutely lived up to the hype. Rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and packed with tender shredded oxtail. I honestly don't know which dish I like more. The food alone keeps me coming back, but the atmosphere makes the experience even better. You're greeted with a smile as soon as you walk in, and they do a great job getting people seated. The only downside, and it's really a compliment, is that depending on what time you go, you might have to wait a little while for a table. After eating here twice, I completely understand why. Good food brings people back. Needless to say, my buddy was right, and I'll gladly admit it. If you haven't tried NAM Kitchen yet, do yourself a favor and go. Just don't blame me when you're already planning your next visit before you finish your meal.

I really really like this place! It's a fusion between Vietnamese and Peruvian/latin flavors! If you can order a bowl of pho, spring rolls AND a lomo saltado, you've got my attention! The flavor is off the chain! The food is plated beautifully! The drinks offered are very tasty! I've been here twice so far and their service is top notch! Super friendly! Super fast! And really really clean! The space is beautifully decorated and their business card is well done! If you're anywhere in the area, I highly recommend coming to try it out! I'm sure you'll be back!

Yup, loved it. And I can see why they made Yelp's Top 100 list. It's not just the food, it's the ambience, the service, and the uniqueness of their menu. My friend is a Yelp hawk, and when we visited him in LA recently, he picked this place for dinner. We tried a LOT of different things from the menu, and all of them were solid. For appetizers, we had the Tofu Fresh Roll and the Crispy Roll (Cha Gio). The tofu roll was fresh, soft, and chewy on the outside, with a fresh, crunchy filling inside. It had a lovely, meadowy flavor. The Crispy Roll was delicious too, not too oily and paired really well with the dipping sauce. My daughter had the Chicken Pho. The server was very accommodating and substituted chicken broth for the beef broth for us. It was one of the highlights of our meal: perfectly cooked, fresh, chewy noodles in an umami-forward, comforting broth. Fantastic. We also had the Truffle Fried Rice. It was good, but it sounded more exciting on the menu than it actually tasted. Shout-out to our server, Moon, who was patient and friendly throughout our meal. They did forget one of our orders, and when it finally arrived, it was overcooked and soggy (the Spicy Wontons). But they replaced it even before we could say anything. It was a pity because those wontons were delicious. They just arrived too late for us to enjoy them as an appetizer. Anyway, overall, it was a lovely meal. We left happy, and I'd definitely recommend it!

    Cucumber salad $9

Located at the cusp of Gardenia and Torrance, I popped in before a concert at the Forum, since food there is so expensive and often lacking. The Peruvian influence here inspired my choices, although I plan to widen my options in the future, the cucumber salad seemed light and flavorful. It was, too. Crispy Persian cucumbers in hot chili oil garnished with peanuts. I appreciated the server asking about allergies, which, fortunately, I don't have. The Lomo Saltado was my main dish with fries, onions, and tomatoes. The dish sits surprisingly light in the belly, and the tender beef seemed to melt in the mouth. I was pretty full afterwards and felt it was a good meal and value. I like the clean, open space inside, and the employees were all nice and helpful.

    House fried chicken

Food: We tried a mix of dishes here, and overall it landed at about a 4/5 for me. The house fried chicken was pretty good, well marinated with great flavor throughout and a crispy exterior that held up nicely. The cauliflower beef garlic noodles were also good, with rich, savory flavors, though the beef itself was slightly tough to chew at times. The golden pear salad was fine but didn't quite come together for me, I would've preferred the pear without the skin and chopped into smaller pieces to better distribute throughout the salad. The oxtail fried rice, while solid, didn't really stand out and felt more like a standard fried rice than something memorable. If anything, I'd honestly recommend just sticking with the pho here. It's one of their stronger offerings, and the fact that you can get unlimited noodles makes it feel like the best value and most satisfying option. Price: Pricing is pretty typical for a modern Vietnamese/Asian fusion spot. Appetizers like the house chicken wings run around $16, salads like the golden pear are about $19, garlic noodle dishes are in the low‑to‑mid $20s, and dishes like oxtail fried rice come in around $18. Pho is generally in the $15-19 range depending on the protein. Expect to spend about $20-35 per person depending on how much you order, which feels fair for the portion sizes and quality, especially if you go the pho route. Ambiance: The space has a modern, casual vibe with a slightly trendy feel. It's clean and comfortable, making it a good spot for a casual meal with friends or family without feeling too formal. It does get pretty noisy instead with everyone chatting away! Service: Service was good overall, friendly and efficient. The staff kept things moving and checked in appropriately, which is appreciated, especially when the place is busy. Parking: Parking can be a bit tricky. There is actually free decent sized lot available right in the front, but it does fill up quickly, especially during peak hours. Otherwise, you may need to rely on nearby street parking and walk over.

This review has been on my drafts for far too long. I have been trying to conjure up the best words to describe this place. This food is amazing, understandably so given their place in Yelp's Top 100. The way that they make Vietnamese and Peruvian food keen to its authenticity is unmatched. No fusion dishes, just authentic dishes from both cuisines. So good my grandma (who's from Vietnam) and mom say it's one of the best pho's they have ever had. Very flavorful without being overwhelming or overly salty. All of their other food was equally delicious. The only small negative would be that some of the noodles were too oily. But that qualm is minimal considering the flavor of the dishes. We also got their lomo saltado, oxtail fried rice (so good), egg rolls, veggie noodles, and tiger prawn garlic noodles. Out of all of these items, I recommend the pho, egg rolls and oxtail fried rice! Lomo saltado and noodles were good but the others were better. The place fits a lot of people however, it is a very busy place. Expect to wait, especially during dinner hours or the weekend.

I love their beef combination pho since my first visit. Nam Kitchen is my top spot for pho and always within rotation of my cravings. One thing though! These wings are cooked and crispy, but the taste profile needs development. We're used to eating a lot of wings, and these are only 3/5 rating. They're under flavored and odd-flavored.

    Jay B.

I had been hearing about the Pho at Nam for quite some time...I mentioned Nam to my Sister & she said they are on her favorites short list...Now, I had to go...it was as good as advertised...I first heard of them on TikTok & the hype is real...now on my Favorites List

Waited 15 minutes to dine in on a Thursday night for a party of 3. We ordered pho, crispy rolls and ox tail fried rice. Service was quick and attentive. The pho came out first before the crispy rolls. Crispy rolls is served with veggies and is a perfect app. So packed with meat and deep fried to perfection. Pho broth was on point with deep beefy flavor. Made the entire restaurant smell so good. But the star was the ox tail fried rice. This is a must get. Highly recommend this spot.

The restaurant is very busy but the wait wasn't too long at all. The restaurant is open and has lots of seating. The servers work very hard and are very friendly. The shaken beef pho was very good. The beef was tender and flavorful. The broth was clean and well made. One of the best I have had. The summer rolls are nice and refreshing; a great sharing appetizer.

After our dental appointment, we headed straight here for dinner and got the Steak Garlic Noodles, Filet Mignon Pho, and Coco Matcha. Everything we tried was so good! The steak was cooked just right--perfect medium, exactly how we like it. The garlic noodles were super tasty, and the Filet Mignon Pho was amazing. The broth was rich, cozy, and full of flavor. The Coco Matcha was really refreshing and went great with everything. Would we come back? For sure! Do we recommend it? 100%! We'd definitely come back again.

I stopped in on a Tuesday for lunch and knew I was going to get the curry puffs. The last time I ordered these I was with a friend and had to share but not this time. I was on a solo lunch and looking forward to the puffs! To say they are "perfect" seems insufficient. They were fried incredibly well, hot, crunchy, tasty, but never greasy. And these little puffs were filled with minced beef, potatoes, and seasoning! For my main dish, I chose the dragon noodles (pad thai) with chicken. All the veggies in the dish were cooked perfectly, nothing too mushy, just the right amount of crunch/bite to the cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. And the chicken was chunky! And while I loved everything about the dish, the sprinkling of the crushed peanuts was *chef's kiss*. There's no skimping on those peanuts here. As I write this I'm excited for the leftover noodles waiting for me. When you walk into Sausalido you really do feel welcomed. The space is unassuming in the best way possible. Posters of the drinks they offer (coffee, smoothies, boba) adorn the walls, along with pictures of the various food items they have. The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. That was bad, in any case, I ordered the kalua and shrimp. The shrimp was extra, but was pretty good. I am glad I ate right away since the shrimp was not overtly deep fried (this means the sauce on top was going to drench it, making it a soggy deep fried batter if I did not eat right away). The sauce it comes with is not bad, it seemed like a flavorful batter. The pickled onions were not a palet cleanser, but was sweet and went well with the kalua pork. The pork itself was definitely on the saltier side, I would not recommend eating this without the rice! It was that salty! Together it was good. They put on a lot of rice, no substitutes like Mac salad unfortunately. But what was bad is that the shrimp is extra but they put a bed of rice underneath so you don't really get as much protein as you would like.

It's a small restaurant and they don't take reservation but the way isn't too long. They have both counter seating and a few small tables. Service is quick and friendly-many people have been coming here for years and the kitchen consist of brothers who have been making the pasta for a long time. I enjoyed the clam pasta, and my boyfriend got the spinach bacon pasta, which he says he orders every time! They are simple but delicious.

This was one of the spots they went to when they first started dating many many years ago. It's definitely nostalgic every time we eat here. So glad to see that they're still here and thriving. There's a small parking lot in the back and street parking available. The restaurant is pretty small and only has 4 tables, but lots of bar style seatings. Lines can get pretty long but service is pretty quick. Crazy since they still have their $1 salad still available! It's such a good deal and the salad dressing is delicious. All of their pastas had been delicious. They have a lot of fusion pastas.

We had gone to W's China Bistro years before and enjoyed it but never tried Lotus until last night…read moreand we are so glad we did! Our usual not-so-usual go-to for Chinese in the South Bay had been Seashore at Calle Mayor and PCH but I remembered the food being somewhat bland on the last visit several months back. We have also enjoyed Lunasia (for Dim Sum) and Ruiji farther east on PCH but it has been a long time (at least for Ruiji) and the reviews and pictures for Lotus looked really good. I also liked the All-Day Happy Hour! $3 house wines, beer and hot sake as well as the complimentary (and delicious) garlic noodles with $50 purchase ($11.95 value). We ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons ($10), Spicy Orange Crispy Chicken ($21.95), Kung Pao Chicken ($21.95), Sweet and Sour Pork ($20.95), Beef with Broccoli ($20.95), Mongolian Beef ($21.95) and Crispy Honey Shrimp ($25.95). Yeah, the prices, I know, but again the All-Day Happy Hour and the free noods! The food was a hit...everything was great, fresh ingredients, packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken wasn't spicy so don't worry if that's not your jam...the Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite and the crispy honey shrimp was lightly fried "to perfection". I hate that phrase but it is appropriate here, truly. Service was excellent. The food came out very quickly and our server was fantastic. It was my 87 year old Mom's birthday and they brought out a cheesecake and candle for her too. We did have tons of left-overs so it will go a longer way which helps with the cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND; they've definitely earned the top Chinese spot for me.

However, it was worth it! We had the Special Hong Kong Garlic Lobster, Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Garlic Noodles, and Hot and Sour Soup. The service was fast and friendly. The food was uniformly great. The soup was excellent as was the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. The Fried Rice was good, although I wish they had BBQ Pork Fried Rice, but that is not to be. In short, I upped my rating and we'll be back in less than 2 years.
