I stopped off here on the way to Orlando airport. The grilled chicken was fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The coleslaw, plantains and the horchata drink were all very good too! The cashier was also very nice and accommodating. The ambience is very casual, as expected. If you don't have a lot of time before going to the airport (and want to avoid the steep airport pricing) or for lunch during work hours this is a place to go! This place seems to be hate it or love it. I had a decent experience. I've avoided coming here because of the prices, so I was excited to take advantage of a recent promotion. I got two empanadas and an horchata. Both were very good. The empanadas were fresh and flaky with a savory filling. The horchata was refreshing and sweet. I absolutely love this place! I've been here twice and both times it was a to~go order. My orders were always correct and packaged efficiently. The chicken is SEASONED so well and not greasy. It's extremely moist and so delicious. The sides that I have tried were the yuca fries(excellent), plantains(sweet) and Cole slaw(meh) Hands down one of the better fast food chicken restaurants. read more

We followed the construction of this place for a while and were excited to try something new. Some research showed that it made a top 10 list of fast food chicken spots so we thought we'd give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. There weren't many people in the drive thru line so we were able to place our order pretty quickly: the spicy chicken sandwich with sweet plantains, an empanada, and a campero bowl. Waiting for our food took a minute, but the employee apologized and made some small talk. We did assess and It seemed like he had to ring the order as he was taking payment as he had to make a special trip to pull the side. We took the food home, the dough of the empanada was decent although more greasy than need be and the sauce they use for the inside is more smoky than I would have liked. The sandwich was utterly disappointing, for some reason my sandwich was plain- I didn't get pickles or the spicy sauce that should be on it. The campero bowl we received was missing the avocado. Both meals were made incorrectly even though they were ordered without any changes. We had really high hopes, but with what we received neither of us feel the need to go back. read more

Pollo Campero has been serving amazing fried chicken since 1971, and my meal was full of great flavors! My husband got the 3 Pc Dark Fried Meal with Campero Rice, a Dinner Roll, and Sweet Plantains. According to him the chicken was crispy & juicy, and the plantains were sweet and tasty . Everything was fresh and flavorful! I  tried the Campero Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich and my daughter ordered the original Campero Fried Sandwich. Both were crunchy and delicious. For sides, I had Yuca Fries and regular fries and washed it all down with a Pepsi. Service was fair and friendly! The inside was clean but we took our food to go. The food was hot, tasty, and worth the trip. If you love fried chicken with a unique Latin twist, Pollo Campero is a great place to try! read more

So I've been here twice bc I enjoyed it so much the first time. On our first visit, we got the grilled chicken and it was very good. Nicely seasoned and juicy. Not dry at all. Loved the mac and cheese. I thought it was so good that I put it above Pollo tropical. lol 2nd time, they didn't ask if we wanted fried, grilled, or mixed. Didn't think anything of it. We were disappointed when got home and saw it was fried chicken. We do like fried chicken but it was dark and extra crispy as if they'd dipped it again to warm it up. I have been waiting patiently for this chicken restaurant to open. I ordered a meal for myself and my step daughter. The menu had many choices but I made it so simple the first time around. I ordered (2) sets of chicken nuggets with french fries and macaroni with cheese. I then asked for an oatmeal cookie. This cookie was the only type of cookie I would order and I always want this type of cookie only. Unfortunately after I paid I took a bite of this cookie it was chocolate chip . I told the cashier I wanted an oatmeal cookie as discussed on my order. I was then advised they don't sell this type of cookie. I was offered a different side order where I chose yuca fries. I asked for their dipping sauce for both orders of chicken nuggets. I finally made it home and I received no sauce, no macaroni and cheese for my sides. I really want to give this place a 5 star but their consistency was well off the mark. I try again later in the day and maybe I will get the order just right and I will amend. read more

Order found my table, though she had forgot to give me a number. Yuca fries were cold pieces of unflavored paste-starch. Sauce was so spicy it burned my lips. Beans....took one bite and tears came to my eyes. Total mouth burn! So the fried chicken....started well, then Boom! Spices were in the breading and crept up on you. 2 dummettes and I was done. I've never visited this restaurant before so when I saw it, I decided to give it a try since they're very close to my house, but this is my first and my last visit. It was a struggle to put my order through the drive-through and once I was able to finish getting the order corrected, they asked me to wait next to the "thank you" sign...which I did for over 20 minutes before I realize no one was coming with my order. When I walked in to ask for my food, my order was not even on the screen. Although the manager apologized, my order was still incorrect. My fries were soggy and greasy and the rest of the food was just bland. I do not like to write negative reviews, but this is just a place that I am not going to be returning. We went through the drive through and placed an order with some trouble getting the employee to clearly respond (especially about fries[below]). They were also out of all 3 new sauces. Bummer, but ok. When we got to the window the price changed by over $10 and we asked why. The employee said he hadn't calculated the nuggets (which we'd discussed with him earlier when he said fries didn't come with but could be added). I asked him to read our order again to check before paying. Then he said two sides of fries. I asked why, and he said that one side came with the nuggets. I asked why hed said it didn't earlier, but regardless we only needed 1 side of fries. That changed our price to a 3rd total. Ok...then he handed us a partial order and said the nuggets would come soon. We pulled forward to wait. I opened the bag & there was also no utensils to eat my bowl with nor the sauces ordered. My husband went in & they gave him a metal fork for my to-go bowl, saying they didn't have any plastic forks. Huh! In all, we spent $34 and 25 min for some so-so food with a lot of disorganization.
