Food line

This place rocks! They offer a variety of Caribbean food and meats! They have over four different type of rice, over 13 different meat & flavors and lots of sides to satisfy any angry(hungry) person. You will not be disappointed nor let down with choices! Service is nice, friendly, fast, and easy! You choose your dish main and sides from the lines the you pay and get to sit down and enjoy! One down thing is that the seating area is small and it's located what used to be a gas station. Parking is big but like I said seating inside is small and may get full fast! Overall, enjoyed this place and will definitely come back next time i find myself in Orlando

My plate looks a bit messy because I ordered it from Ubereats and I was really desperate to start eating because the food smelled and looked so good. First bite did not disappoint. The meat was tender and flavorful. I did not order the beans but it came in my bag! What a pleasant surprise :) They also wrote my name on the bag with a smiley face and it made ME smile. Def need to check this place out in person.

I got a delivery order from here and the food was absolutely delicious + they do a wonderful job at packing everything with care. For my main order I got a small combo with pernil, arroz con guandules, and mangú. The meal was affordable and the portions are huge. I enjoyed some cuts of the pernil more than other parts, but overall the combo was really flavorful and incredibly filling. I also tried their relleno de papa, pastel de guava, and one of their passion fruit juices. The relleno was yummy and not too greasy. The passion fruit juice was sweet and refreshing, pairing well with the meal. The pastel de guava was also very flaky with a good amount of guava filling. Overall, I was happy with my food! Definitely a good place to check out to get good food for a good value.

I've been here many times, just yesterday, so it's overdue for a review! A quick serve restaurant, order at the line and for $8.99 you get a hearty portion of a protein and two sides. I added one more side of maduros. Yesterday, I went with their roasted pork, yellow rice, pinto beans, and plantains. Delicious! This is a home cooked meal with depth of flavor and seasonings. A really great value! I can't think of any fast food option cheaper for this kind of quality! A variety of latin soft drinks and the American usual. They also have a case full of sweet treats for dessert. The staff was friendly and even let my husband sample the chiccharron before he ordered it. Note they also deliver via Doordash. I've ordered this way also, and they didn't skimp on the portion or quality delivered either. Inside? Pretty basic. Clean. About 15 tables inside and seating outside as well. One small no was I noticed a couple tables needed a wipe down. The bathroom was clean and updated. Overall, it is a great value, and you will leave full with likely leftovers. It's not a fancy date place, but my date prefers good food and a lot of it! Recommend!

Very one of the best places to go to , staff is super attentive and very friendly, place has good seating but most people are to go orders , the food is off the hook , only the best taste and fresh , great Latin food to stop by

Great selection of latin food and pastries. Always fresh. Food options are constantly changing. Crowded a lot of the times that I have visited. Fast and friendly service. Food taste is 4/5. Rather loud dining area due to so many patrons dining inside. I always dine inside due to my 2.5 hour drive. I have been here 5 times in last 2 years.

And with a shrimp on top. I'm done.

These people almost killed my wife. She ordered mixed rice via Uber Eats from these people. They never contacted me to tell me there was no mixed rice, and instead sent fried rice. Mixed rice has no shellfish. Fried rice does. And my wife is extremely allergic to even the smell of it. I was fortunate to have opened it while my wife was in another room. Closed it immediately, then took it to a separate room to take a picture of it for Uber Eats to refund me that money, then threw it away. This is the third time they do this with mixed rice specifically, and I've tried at different times of the day, so I'm convinced they'll never have it and will send any other random rice without even telling you. I would've looked the other way like before since they sent either white rice, or rice with pigeon peas. This time they risked my wife's health. I'm done with these people. Reviewing here since Uber Eats did not let me leave a review. Picture sent to uber eats attached.

Lechonera El Barrio Restaurant is a fantastic option for a meal if you are on Semoran Boulevard. It is not far from where Semoran meets with East Colonial Drive. The staff was extremely friendly and helped me navigate through their long line of food offerings. The food is placed behind glass and served by a friendly staff. There is nothing fancy about here, it has a long row of food offerings and a few tables. I chose to sit at a table outside after i received my food in a styrofoam takeout container. But the food is very good and I enjoyed a pleasant enough atmosphere, though the music was a bit loud. I opted to go with the perils, which is a pork dish. The lunch special came with rice and plantains. I also went with a papa rellena, which is a potato ball with meat inside. Both were very good. The total for this was just over ten dollars before a tip. All in all, this was a very good lunch. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars.

I was I the mood for Puerto Rican food while in Winter Park in Florida for business. I found this spot immediately and drove up to it. When you find a place that has the cafeteria style service, especially Latin food it's probably going to be good. If you know Puerto Rican food then you know of the many options, I can honestly say they had it all, I ordered arroz con habituales and cuajito (yellow rice with kidney beans with pork chunks and Latin style stewed pig instestine better know as chitlins) Don't knock it until you try it! Honestly the food was fresh and ridiculously tasty. I know Criollo cuisine rather well after being raised on it. The variety of different foods was just amazing, the service was fast and quick, the portions were really large and the price, two of us ate for under $23.00!!! I intend to return before leaving Florida. I highly recommend this place.

If you want good food and a lot of it, come here. I am always pleased when I come here. They're English is not too bad but I love their portion size. Last time I was there I didn't see the menus on the tv or the prices, which can make it a little harder to order. But if you just point to what you want they'll help you. I always get the large plate and it's about $10 which lasts me a couple days.

Pastelon (I already dug into it), coditos, and maduros

Always delicious, huge portions, and so many options to choose from! Love this location specifically for the huge variety of options on their buffet, they offer way more than the other Lechoneras in town. Food is always delicious and just like homemade, never had a bad meal from here. My favorite is the pastelon and codito salad

Oxtail stew rice and guineitos.
Orlando R.

I visited last Saturday and the food was delicious. I ordered Oxtail in a stew with Guineitos ( Green bananas) and Pegao ( the crunchy rice at bottom of pot ) , my wife ordered Arroz con Gandules and pernil (roast pork) . Oxtail stew was on point the seasoning was perfect and the portion was huge. The pernil was very tasty and arroz con gandules was one of the best I had, they only issue I had is the I like my pernil cut up in slices and they serve it shredded, the cuerito was a little too hard. Otherwise the food is fantastically delicious. Again the portions are huge. I definitely recommend and will return soon.

Pernil (pork) white rice and yellow sweet plaintains

5+ stars for various reasons. I ordered via dash door and gave specific instructions and Julie followed it to the "t." On my way to pick it up Julie reassured me that my requests were met. She was so sweet and glad to accommodate my needs. On my way back my car had a delicious smell all the way through to my house that transported me to the days when my mom cooked (of course her food was better, ) her rice, her pernil and the "amarillos or tostones" that are called yellow sweet or hard plantains. When I arrived home, the food did not disappoint. The rice was soft and plenty, the pork was tender with juicy-sabor that it felt like I was at my moms house. I also ordered dessert--duh. There were several dessert options which was hard to decide, but I opted for tres leches (3 milk cake). I am sooo glad I chose the homemade Tres Leches. Omg, It was mouthwatering as I was salivating the faultless sweetness of this confectionary delight. Idk who made this cake, but they surely have a hand for it---therefore, they deserve 5 woop-woop and claps . The whip cream was soft and not overly sweet, same for the cake. It was pure perfection!! If you want homemade Spanish food, this is the place. If you're a sweet tooth like me, don't forget to pick up the homemade tres leche or a few.

The restaurant can get a little loud, but I enjoyed the music and appreciated the large TVs. Great if you're dining with someone who wants to watch a soccer game. Our order was taken, everyone's food arrived, but my meal never came out. When I asked about it, the waitress appeared to realize the mistake but did not take accountability. Instead, I was told she would "check in the back," and 15 minutes later she returned with my food claiming it had been there all along. To make matters worse, my daughter ordered her churrasco medium, and it came out well done. My drink was also forgotten. Mistakes happen, but what was most disappointing was the lack of ownership, communication, and effort to correct the situation. I asked to speak with a manager, but it seemed like the request was ignored or avoided. Coming from someone who has managed restaurants before, it is disheartening to see this level of service and lack of accountability. Unfortunately, based on this experience, my family and I will not be returning.

The fried chicken wasn't bad, it had flavor and the tostones were nice and crispy. We didn't care for the rest though. The arroz con gandules was the driest I have ever had! The carne frita/maditas de cerdo had NO seasoning. I was so shocked! They tasted like unseasoned pork and oil! I was so disappointed because I wanted those so bad. The alcapurria de carne was ok, but nothing I would crave or come back for. There was no ac and it was like 90 degrees outside. If I lived local I would've taken the food to go but unfortunately, I had to sit there and suffer to eat one of the sorriest excuses for puerto rican food I've had so far. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately for us it was a big miss. The ladies working there didn't look happy to be there but neither would I if I had to work in those conditions! The lady at the register was patient with me as I stumbled through my broken Spanish. She didn't suggest switching to English, so I must have been speaking reasonably well. So I ordered the carne frita (fried pork) with a side of tostones. When I go to any Latin restaurant, I have to try the tostones. Ever since Rice & Beans closed I've been on the quest for some good tostones. Piñones' tostones (no rhyme intended) were decent, but not quite what I hoped for. The star of the meal was the carne frita. It was hot, juicy and flavorful. I'll likely try it again in a mofongo.

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside with great vibes and a nice atmosphere. Our first visit was mostly good, but I would not recommend the tripleta. All you taste is the burnt tortilla, and it wasn't like a typical tripleta sandwich. The second time we went was for a graduation celebration, and sadly most of the food was a miss. The grilled chicken and sauces were especially disappointing--expensive, bland, and not something I'd order again. The drinks were also disappointing and tasted more like sugary syrup than actual cocktails or fresh drinks. We chalked it up to maybe being an off day. That being said, we also ordered catering for the graduation before the unfortunate dinner, and the catering was amazing. We ordered pernil, leg porchetta, arroz con gandules, and roasted whole chicken. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well done with no complaints at all. I just wish the dine-in experience matched the catering and food truck experience better. Overall, I would still recommend Crocante because when they're good, they're really good. The service was okay, nothing special, but not bad either. The space is beautiful, the vibes are great, and some items are definitely worth trying.

The ambiance and the warmth of the staff took me back to the Caribbean--it definitely felt like home. Their menu features a Latin-Asian fusion, and I loved every second of it. We started with the Krab Salad. It was incredibly fresh, topped with avocado, and the perfect way to open my appetite for a sushi night. Next were the Pork Fried Gyoza, served with a sticky, glossy sauce that has just the right amount of kick. They were so good, you won't be able to put your chopsticks down. The Escobar Roll combines shrimp tempura and churrasco--the best of both worlds. It's topped with sweet plantains, chimichurri sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. I had my doubts about all those flavors working together, but I have no idea how they perfected that combination--they absolutely did. The Mar y Tierra Roll was recommended by our waiter, and I highly recommend ordering it in tempura. It gives the roll a completely different texture, and it's absolutely amazing. The Pollo Loco Roll is topped with sweet plantains and teriyaki sauce. It's simple, yet packed with flavor. We finished it all off with a crème brûlée. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be enjoying one at a sushi restaurant, but it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. If you're looking for creative sushi, unique Latin-inspired flavors, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like family, The Escobar Kitchen is definitely worth the visit.
