When we walked in, there was chicken being grilled fresh, and the place was fairly busy even late at night. We had to wait awhile before someone stopped to take our order, but thankfully, we didn't have to wait long for our food to come out. We ordered the Tropical Trio which came with churrasco steak, chicken, and mojo roast pork. It came with rice, beans, and plantains. We also ordered the boneless chicken entree, which comes with rice and beans but we opted for fries instead of the beans. Unfortunately, we did not get the chimichurri sauce that was supposed to come with the steak. We also ordered the cilantro garlic sauce with our trio platter and we didn't get that. We would've loved to try those. Overall, the food was good. My kids enjoyed the boneless chicken and I really enjoyed the roast pork. It was tender and flavorful. I have no clue why this place has such a low rating. We walked here from the embassy suites and it was so good! There are a lot of chicken options, pulled pork and salad options but the sides were the best! A hotel employee told me what to order. The kids meal chicken rice and beans and the plantains and cheesy yuka. It also came with a full size soda and was under $16. There is also a selection of sauces you can get an unlimited amount off. The cilantro was my favorite. The staff is so nice! I was thinking about the balsamic tomato's and they were kind enough to give me a sample to try. Yes, there is a long line, but it is because everyone knows the food is good! This was my first time here and I would consider it a Cuban-ish Chipotle. This is my local Pollo Tropical and although I feel like the food is good for fast food and a healthier option compared to others, their service is not good at all. To their defense they are always very busy and I understand that sometimes things aren't perfect, but the last few times I've gone have been so bad that may not be returning. The drive thru at this Pollo is horrible because their parking lot is so small and theres always cars packed everywhere and its a mess! Having experienced this I decided to use their app to order ahead and pick up in store. Both times I have done this I have waited until the app told me my order was ready to go out and get it and then when I've gotten there I've had to wait another 15-20 mins to receive my order! So the whole point of the app and ordering ahead are basically useless! It is very very disorganized! To top it off last time I was missing all my sauces and didnt realize it till I was already home :( I hope they can pull it together soon because I do like their food, but I may just have to go to a different one next time. read more

I hate nothing more than a business that cheats their customers because they can get away with it. I got my large tropichop bowl I felt underserved. So I went back up and asked the kid if this was the normal amount of meat I guess I was a little too wordy in English. That's understandable at pollo tropical so I told him this feels like less than it's supposed to be so I ordered a small tropichop the same way because I had a feeling. I took the chicken out of each and placed it on two napkins and this is what I got ( pictured below ) I went up and they played dumb at first then a manager got involved, a woman who kept trying to get me to just accept a new large bowl without saying a word more so I in a loud inside voice asked her is this the right amount of chicken for both of these bowls or not? She didn't answer but told me the large is supposed to have two scoops and the small should have one. So I asked her is there a reason why these two bowls have the same amount? Unless you have each one and a half scoops that's not three scoops total. It seems like you're just cheating people because you can get away with it. She's still not answering the questions but instead asked me to accept a new large bowl. I tell her loudly I don't need a new bowl I paid for two because I wanted to know if you're cheating your customers and now I have the answer. My explanation to the behavior of the manager is that she knows full well what is happening and she is complicit in the rampant theft of the money that people pay expecting a certain amount and are getting less. My latest venture to this place was last night when I made an impromptu stop as I was running around doing a million things at once. I ended up buying dinner and lunch to boot. Opted to get a regular-sized Tropichop with all the toppings sans tomatoes, a lemonade, and a large side of sweet plantains. Yum yum. Food was on point as was service. I decided to go in for once as I wanted to eat then and there. Not to mention that this drive-thru, come hell or high water, is always packed and they move like turtles. You can spot a Pollo Tropical almost anywhere in Miami. This chain always reminds me of my family and our trips to Miami. As soon as we'd arrive to my cousins house, our first meal would be Pollo Tropical. Their family meals are affordable, filling, and tasty. The seasoning on their chicken is awesome and I love their side dishes. White rice, black beans, boiled yuca, and sweet plantains are some of my favorites. Their complimentary sauce bar is always awesome. Not all Pollo Tropicals are created equal. I've had Pollo Tropical in New Jersey (now closed) and the chicken just didn't taste the same. It lacked seasoning and that grilled flavor. Though I've eaten at Pollo Tropical many times before, this was my first time trying their dessert. Decided to get a Tres Leches and Flan. The Tres Leches had a weird aftertaste and the flan wasn't the best quality. I highly recommend skipping dessert here. Great place for a quick bite. read more

Well worth the visit. The place is usually always very busy. There are a lot of choices for your sides. Every single time, which is about six times now. Everything is always great. All of my colleagues that have stopped in for meal,love it as well. The prices are very reasonable. Get a huge family meal for less than $20. During the week they have a dinner with chicken, rice and one side for $5.99. All the prices are great. Certainly prefer this location over the location in the flea market plaza. Whenever I want Pollo Tropical, this is my go to location. It's convenient, depending on which way you're going. It's located at the corner of a very big and somewhat restricted movement intersection. So if you don't know how to navigate it, it could be a little frustrating. The food always seems fresh here and not like it's been sitting for hours on end. Whether it had or hadn't, I can't tell. I love their yuca fries and if you tried I am sure that you would too. Coupled with the cilantro sauce that could be a nice snack! The staff is always nice when I come here. I have never once had an issue whether I went through the drive thru and ordered inside. Tropichop bowl is basically add anything you want combo, includes drink for under ten bucks. If picking up anyone at Miami Airport this location is ideal too. I did not physically visit this location but ordered through Uber Eats. The food was mostly good, but there were a few issues that I feel deserve attention. We ordered the whole chicken with three sides, and chose to upgrade to white meat only, and a separate large side of yellow rice and vegetables. The chicken was moist, flavorful, with a perfect portion. We were given the option to choose three sauces, which were not all included - we seemed to only receive fresh salsa and cilantro garlic (which were good). The three sides we chose to accompany the chicken included the balsamic tomatoes, brown rice and black beans. The tomatoes were delicious and fresh. The brown rice was cooked to tender perfection. We were not impressed with the black beans - flavor was lacking and there was too much liquid watering them down. The separate side of yellow rice with veggies was also disappointing. They use glass barriers by their registers in addition to masks these days, so you cannot understand them. The cleanliness of the place can use some improvement too. I placed an online catering order to pick up on Friday March 3rd at lunchtime. When I arrived the parking lot was packed, I saw a lady taking out the trash (her name is Livia) and I opened my window and asked her if she could find out if my order was ready. Once I was finally able to park a man named Luis was waiting outside for me and informed me the pick up date on my order was Saturday March 4th. He must have seen the mortified look on my face because he quickly said "don't worry, you will not leave here without your food just give me about 20 minutes." I could have hugged that man right then and there! Sure enough in 20 minutes my order was ready even thought the restaurant itself was packed the line was moving fast. Halfway through my wait, Livia even came by and assured me my order would be ready soon. This lady did not have to go out of her way to help me, yet she took it upon herself to make sure I was ok. I arrived, showed my receipt and they had my entire hot catered meal ready to go with cutlery, plates, napkins, the food (very well wrapped and in strong containers that wouldn't spill in my car) in a huge strong bag. I'd just flown into Miami International after traveling nearly all day, it was nearly 9 p.m., I was hungry and had a bit of a craving for BBQ. While driving home, I happened to remember that there was a barbecue restaurant in this vicinity, so I headed over. When I drove past, the BBQ joint I remembered was dark and the signage was off, so they were either closed or had gone out of business. One block further, I noticed signs for this Pollo Tropical, so I decided to pull in, at least they were open. I was the second customer in line, so I was waited on almost immediately once I decided what I wanted after checking out the menu board. I ordered the Chicken and Caribbean Ribs. It featured 1/4 chicken, 1/4 rack of grilled pork ribs along with bread and a choice of 2 sides, for something stupidly reasonable like $6.99. I headed over to the beverage dispenser to get my drink, and to the toppings bar to grab a few cups of their classic and guava BBQ sauce, and salsa. I was really surprised at the taste and the quality of both the chicken and the ribs! Both were juicy, the meat nearly fell from the bone, and both had a nice grilled and slightly smokey flavor, even without adding any sauces. Once topped with a bit of BBQ sauce, they were even better. I was able to more or less satisfy my craving for barbecue, I was surprised at the quality of the food, the speed of the service and preparation, and the flavor of everything I tried. Also, while I don't make it a point to go around reviewing restrooms, I did use the men's room here to wash my hands after eating. I stopped over in Miami for a 1 night layover and stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street. My impressions are great food but dirty eating area.
