Well, I need to let you know, I've tried this store in my country, Ecuador. Specifically in Quito. This is a Guatemalan chicken franchise. It was as I expected, really good I preferred the crispy chicken but the other one with seasoning was okay. I ordered 4 pieces meal with comes with two sides: coleslaw and green plantains. I have only tried Pollo campero in Guatemala, so the bar was high but all i can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the level of attentiveness, friendliness and customer service. The store was clean, the vibe felt very welcoming. The chicken was 10/10, very savory and tender flavor, the Cole slaw salad was also delicious and the tortillas were hot. While the midget was competing in Miami, we didn't have too much time to stray from our hotel. Being from Texas, we were not very fond of the food in Miami. Not because it wasn't good, everything seemed under seasoned, or fried too much that it dried meat out. Will this was a welcome change for us! The chicken was seasoned extremely well and it came with TORTILLAS! We found tortillas at a restaurant in Miami! Felt like we won the lottery!!! The food was simple yet good. I enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich which definitely had a spicy kick, but was slightly offset by the sweet bread and butter pickles. The sauce wasn't evenly distributed which made me a little sad, because it was very good. Our French fries were cold but I let alondra know and they made a fresh batch for us. New Pollo Campero in town! I had to try this because Pollo Campero originated in El Salvador, my home country! So I was really excited to get a little taste of home I went through the drive-tru and ordered the classic Campero Sandwich meal w/out pickles, coleslaw and an horchata for the drink. I also got a Campero Bowl, a side of yuca fries, and a Carmel flan. Service was pretty quick, but the food was super mid. It definitely tastes similar to the Salvadorian one but it's not exact. The Campero Sandwich does not bring any sauces, and they don't have mayo, so I put the coleslaw on the sandwhich to make it juicier. After that it was better. The chicken it self was crispy, crunchy, and tasty! The horchata was okay, too watery. The yuca fries were on point! So fresh! Hands down my favorite was the Campero Bowl. Great portion of chicken, rice, and beans. Comes with salad (wish they put more), guacamole, corn, and tomatoes. Kinda spicy. Super yummy! The last thing I ordered was the caramel flan. I was definitely surprised when I saw it because it looks nothing like flan on the top. Just go to the pickup area and tell them your name. I did get the "holiday 3 piece special" which is 3 pieces of chicken, 2 sides of only coleslaw and fries, a tortilla & drink. So I have completed three visits to this location. Two drive thru window and one dine in. Slow service when ordering inside but the dining room attendant was very helpful once we sat down. I have tried their bone-in chicken, nuggets and sandwich. I will only return for their bone-in chicken. The nuggets were dry and salty - no amount of sauce could help. And the sandwich was just meh.. I enjoyed the sides - for fast food - rice is bland but pairs well with beans and hot sauce. The yuccca fries are good when they are not overcooked.Dip yucca fries in your ranch (really need that sauce from pollo tropical - the garlic one) French fries are nice and hot and greasy - fast food staple. Oddly, I think my favorite thing is the hot chicken and a sip of the room temperature jamaica juice. Don't get ice because it waters the drink down too much. I ordered a 12-piece family meal with a side of white rices and black beans, coleslaw and Campero rice. I was disappointed to see that the sides are smaller than what they give you at Pollo Tropical. And to add insult to injury, they don't even fill them up all the way to the top. The two rice containers were filled only half way. That was kind of ridiculous! But let's talk about the taste of the chicken. My husband and daughter were blown away! I asked for mixed so they gave me half grilled and half fried. My favorite was the fried but the grilled was delicious too. The flavors are so unique that you can't stop eating!! I wish I would've tried them years ago. The customer service is great. I love that you can choose between fried chicken and grilled chicken. The sides are flavorful. It reminds me of fast food, when people actually cared a lot more. I think it's far better than Pollo Tropical. The drinks are unique for a fast food joint, if you mix the Jamaica with the mango it is so delicious and it's not overly sugary.
