    1/2 chicken with 2 sides.

I wouldn't call 2 thighs half a chicken. At first I thought half a chicken and 2 sides for $16 is not a bad deal but this is just 2 thighs.

If you're in the Downey area do yourself a favor and try this place!!!! I ABSOLUTELY make this my stop EVERY TIME I'm around the area. This is AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS!!! I ALWAYS get the Lomo saltado with fries NOT noodles! Tender marinated beef, grilled purple onions and tomatoes, fries and a scoop of white rice all floating in what I can only describe as "crack sauce" *drools*. TIPS: Don't eat the rice as it comes, mix it into the juicy crack sauce. Also, mix the green and yellow sauce at the table together on the SIDE of your plate and then dip each bite. The reason I mix it as opposed to just drizzling it on top is bc they taste better together AND the green sauce is rather spicy so mixing it separately will allow you to get the exact combination you like. Other popular dishes I see ordered are the roasted chicken and the "caldo de gallina", I stick to the Lomo Saltado though bc I just can't imagine anything else tasting as amazing!!! It's a small restaurant so be prepared to wait for food and a seat during busy times, which is most every time. So worth it though!!!!

Saltado de pollo. Fries and rice. Where is the chicken!?

After having had some bad experiences at my go to Peruvian, I decided to try this place. I called in my order and after being quoted 15 mins I still waited over 30!! Apparently there was some orders ahead of mine. There was no where to sit and wait, the place is very small! I ordered 2 saltados de pollo and as you can see in the picture I pretty much only ate rice and fries. They are so greedy with the chicken. Needless to say, I will not be coming back. I paid $31 for both orders and a small side of rice. I could've made this at home and way cheaper!

the chicken actually looks like this pic of their business card :)

Ordered garlic chicken. It was very dry, rice was cold and under cooked; plantains were cold. Very disappointed

The menu had so many different options that I had a hard time deciding between the soups, traditional meat dishes, and pasta selections. I ended up ordering a pasta dish that surprisingly had an Asian-inspired flavor profile. It reminded me a bit of Kung Pao chicken with linguini, thanks to the red and green bell peppers, onions, and a nice kick of spice. It was delicious, especially with the house-made green salsa they served on the side. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and although I passed on the plantains since I was dining solo, the server kindly brought me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is a cozy, mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot with a mix of two- and four-top tables. Parking was easy, and I found a space right in front. I stopped by just before closing, and there were still a few people enjoying dinner. Expect to spend around $30 per person. Overall, I enjoyed the food and friendly service, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.

Cute, clean atmosphere - the owner was nice enough to chat with us and introduce us to some menu items. Highly recommend the Ceviche Mixto to start, and the Lomo Saltado to share all around. We also got the Tallarín Verde con Pechuga which was a cleaner dish. I recommend the Maracuya (passion fruit) drink. For dessert, I loved the Lucuma fruit based ice cream which kinda had a light but sweet maple-butterscotch flavor. Would come back again!

The minute I got there I requested if they could accommodate for 13 people which they did . The laddy was really sweet for doing that , THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT, MUCH APPRECIATED. Waiting time for food was almost an hour which I didn't mind because I understood we were a lot of people . I asked for lomo saltado - sadly The flavor was not good - Too much seasoning and the meat was not salteado , it was more like the meat got boiled . I only ate the fries and onion . I told my husband and he was more like just eat it - so yes , I ate just the fries and onion . The green sauce for sure was really tasty and delicious. I don't knw but the salteado was not it . Keep in mind - the only reason I go to a Peruvian place is just for the lomo saltado. I know when is done right and when is not . And this time - it was not . I don't know if I may come back !!!!!! Edit - answering when and what time we were there : WE WERE THERE Tuesday JUNE 2, 2026 @8:07pm to be exact !! Thank you Ma'am .

Not very appetizing. Also I noticed some trash like straw paper under the table. There was no one there before me so they must not have swept before closing the night before. The tables were also sticky, and the overall interior was dated. No other customers came the whole time we were there during peak lunch time. My niece and I decided to share the Leche de Tigre ($21.99) and a Lomo Saltado ($19.99). The food came out in a decent amount of time. The leche de tigre was decent but the chips it came with were stale and insufficient in ratio of how much leche de tigre there was. The portion size was more than what we wanted to eat. The menu showed they used to have a smaller size and that would have been better for us. The lomo saltado is the most disappointing of all. This is typically a Peruvian restaurant main dish so I wanted my niece to try it, but this was such a bad first impression of Peruvian cuisine. The beef was tough and the flavor was forgettable. The fries were... edible. I didn't care for the rice. We barely touched it. We were so excited to come here and we left pretty disappointed with our appetites spoiled. Not recommended.
