    Dead bugs on arrival

possibly the worst hotel ever. absolutely disgusting. looks like a cheap effiency motel. I travel ALOT. Have stayed in some dingy motels out of necessity. This was a planned family vacation weekend, booked on book it for 250 total for 2 rooms. great deal. then the "resort" fees are additional 125 per room 250 total now each room. total being more than 500 for both rooms. Was supposed to have a couch and king for one room and 2 queens the other. No couch in the king.Went to Walmart to get air mattress for the kids due to not being able to get another room on such short notice Never again Not recommended

If I could give a zero I would!!!! Filed report with BBB...MAKAI has a F rating with BBB!!! -MOLD on the curtains -MOLD on the doors jams in bathroom -Dead cockroaches ( only took a pic of one, but had three) -Stained linens on the bed sheets/pillow cases -Furniture battered -Extension cords around wall edges since outlets do not work between beds -Holes in the darkening curtains (holes that let light thru...not a big issue, but could be easily remedied) -Refrigerator rusted on the outside and top (fridge is about 4 feet tall so easily seen) -Coffee maker covered in a layer of filth (video too) -Towel bar in bathroom non-existent (again, not a big deal, but come on...) -Outside balcony had mold from constant water from air running. -parking is a nightmare ...worst being a presence of mold which is UNACCEPTABLE and a health hazard!

If I could give this place negative stars it would get a negative 2. It could have been a nice very quaint and beautiful hotel had it been maintained and cared for. This place is gross. I think they pay their staff in free rooms. Because this place was dirty. Even the outside was filthy. The walkways could have atleast been cleaned. When we got to the hotel it was late cold and raining. Not at all like Florida but we wanted to be at the beach so we took the chance. First the room was so gross I couldn't let me kids take their shoes off because the floor was dirty. Then we looked in the closet and there was a big ball of rolled up sheets with what looked like chicken bones falling out of the side and mold was growing on the top of. They must have been there weeks. And it smelled gross. The bathroom was dirty too. So we were moved to another room and this room was not much better. It was still dirty but atleast we had a fridge so we could keep our drinks cold. But the heat wouldn't come on and it was 40 outside this night a cold front was moving in. So we just snuggled in bed and prayed the roaches wouldn't crawl on us at night. I will Never go back unless I was gonna buy the place and really fix it up. It was a beautiful place at one time.

    Stains on the bed

If I could give a hotel zero stars this would be the one I went down there and booked the hotel for just two days as soon as I walked in it reeked of cleaning chemicals. And I didn't even make any sense that it smelled like chemicals because the room was absolutely disgusting there were stains and rips on both beds there was a used bathroom towel on the floor the toilet wasn't clean the shower had a crack in the floor there were bugs on the floor dead and alive the curtain to the outside was ripped overall spend the money and go to a nicer hotel because this hotel needs to be tore down and completely rebuilt.

We were looking for a hotel within our budget, that had free breakfast/wifi, and an ocean view. This hotel was one of the few that was in our budget. Outside, it looks really nice. The building is shaped different than other hotels, it has a hawaiian theme to it. The beach is right there, and there's a pool and jacuzzi. Our hotel room's look is something I won't complain about because you do get what you pay for. However, I will complain that behind the furniture and in the corner is full of dust and debris. It seems like they sweep the floor into the walls. The room smells of mildew a little, but other than that it's decent for the price. Wifi, is a joke. It doesn't work on my phone or my computer, and if it does start to work, it's super slow. I was even at the front desk trying to connect and couldn't. The breakfast isn't anything special. See photos. Tupperware containers of questionable items, some bread/bagels, and the 2 worst brands of cereal. The biscuits and gravy weren't bad, though. The jacuzzi is also a joke. The week we stayed it was chilly, mid 60s, and so we changed into our bathing suits to get into the jacuzzi. Upon approaching it we realized that it was just dirty, leafy, cold shallow water (see photos). Housekeeping was on point. Every evening when we returned, the bed had been made, trash was taken out, and the bathroom/shower had been cleaned. Idk, we might stay again. It's a shame the wifi and jacuzzi suck so bad.

Not as Primo as my uncle Barry & I expected. Nothing but a couple of Aqua velvas on the beach. I rather go to Swingle's in Fort Lauderdale.

This hotel was right across the street from Ocean Center where we would be headed the next morning. The hotel was massive having a south and north tower with 16 floors on each side. My roommate and I were ocean front on the 12th floor, nearly in the middle of the south tower. WOW, what a view! I didn't realize until arriving to the room there was no balcony. However, you could open a regular size sliding door to see and hear the ocean. There were bars like a balcony in front of the sliding door but you could only step out one foot on the tiny platform. I left the door open while I was reading and it was so peaceful to hear the ocean;) Parking was nearly two blocks away on the opposite side of the street and across the street from the entrance of Ocean Center behind a barbecue restaurant. This was a bit of a pain pulling the luggage that far. Plus you had to go up a steep incline to get into the lobby. I could have paid an extra $20 for parking overnight if I had used the hotels valet service. No thanks lol! We did get a discount for the parking lot because we were attending the conference. Instead of $35 it was $20 (with taxes $23). The hotel was a little dated. The light over the sink flickered. But did stop after the light was on for a little bit. The beds however were up to the Hilton standard as well as the pillows, nice and comfortable. I shared the room with a friend from church. I liked the feature of having an extra sink and mirror outside the bathroom. There was a mini fridge but no microwave. The desk chair needed replaced as the seat was very worn in. Service at the front desk was friendly and they helped answer all my questions about parking. It was a little confusing because you didn't have a ticket and I couldn't figure out how I would get out of the lot when the conference was over the next day. But the front desk attendant advised they would have someone at the exit gate to open it when the conference let out. And they did;) Thanks for a comfortable night's sleep Hilton! I would stay here again if attending a conference that included a discount code as this hotel was pretty pricey.

The water also does not go away at the sinks quickly. Really a cleanliness issue. The bath tub is broken too. Also the hotel can get some upgrade: it's really run down. Swimming pool can get an upgrade too. There is a mini fridge for you to put drinks. The beds are ok but can be better maintained. Carpet can be cleaned better. Will probably not come back to this location. Parking is $55 for valet. Opposite outdoor parking is $35 with in and out privilege and $25 per day for no in/out.

Luckily, the onsite laundry room was located right across from our apartment. The room was also fully stocked, and had an amazing view of the beach and pool area from the balcony. The resort was kept very clean. My kids enjoyed the pool very much. We even left the pool toys we had brought for other visitors to enjoy. If we were coming to the area again In the future we would definitely consider staying at the Daytona Seabreeze.

We felt very safe and comfortable during our stay. I always take along my own cleaning supplies when we travel since some places are not as clean as I prefer. I was so impressed with the cleaning done prior to our arrival--and as I said, I have very high standards. Even the ceiling fans were clean! That is unusual. The floors could have been cleaner, but the rest was immaculate. The staff, with the exception of one older lady at the front desk, went out of their way to be super friendly. Being that we were there for three weeks, we even developed friendships with some of them. Echo, Eliza, Cassie, and Jorge were some of our favorites. We did have some noisy neighbors above us one night--people who were obviously celebrating and enjoying one another's company. When the fun continued beyond 11 pm, I contacted the front desk. The older lady working that shift could have been nicer, but the female security guard who responded promptly made up for her. We understand that the guests above us were having a great time and likely forgot the time. However, they quieted down immediately and we were able to sleep in peace after that. The other guests staying at the resort were all kind and friendly as well. We never met one rude person. Instead, we made some new friends that we plan to stay in touch with as time goes on. We felt comfortable leaving our bags by our chairs near the pool if we needed to go in and use the restroom. It's just that kind of place and we are pleased to say we found other Bluegreen owners to be a lot like us--friendly and kind. Bluegreen owners, as a general rule, are like this at other resorts too. Our experiences at Bluegreen over the past twenty years have been a lot like this one, although I would say that this was THE cleanest resort we've had yet. Would we stay again? One thousand times, YES, and with pleasure.

Pool is great for kids, could use a couple more umbrellas. Our biggest beef is the lady at the front desk having a major hissy fit when she claimed that we're parking in two spaces. We were not parked in 2 spots based on the pavement striping. But regardless, we moved over 3 feet so another car could park over top the 5 foot wide hashed spot next to the sign that says "Van Accessible". Go figure. We had a handicap placard. Not handled like a business that wants to accommodate people. I suggest a kinder tone, like, "we would like to squeeze one more parking spot in that obsolete wheelchair spot. Do you mind moving?" The lady got combative and defensive when my wife suggested that they improve the white striping on the black asphalt to reflect her reality.
