Worst motel ever, list is long, elderly p person traveling with us, no elevator, so no breakfast for her, the breakfast was so shabby, like the rooms, air conditioner leaked and wet our luggage, no coffee pot and when we got one was filthy old grounds and mold in pot, double bed? Really, water pressure in shower was eradicate, no plug for microwave, stove was disgusting, dead bolt did not work on door, door left open after housekeeping came, personal items were in room, no towel bar in bathroom, over all building was so run down, health department needs to examine. read more

I found this place on Expedia and I knew it was cheap so I wasn't expecting a lot but this place is absolutely disgusting everything is old and outdated I was supposed to get a first floor room but when I got there it wasn't ready so they put me on the fourth floor and the room smelled like marijuana and something dead like a mouse I don't know what it was but the whole place smelled like weed so I changed rooms and the second was a little better but not much the staff was extremely rude there was an older woman at the front desk that cussing like a sailor for some reason at somebody there was mold everywhere I would not recommend this place to anyone in fact it needs to be condemned!!!! read more

This was a planned family vacation weekend, booked on book it for 250 total for 2 rooms. great deal. then the "resort" fees are additional 125 per room 250 total now each room. total being more than 500 for both rooms. Was supposed to have a couch and king for one room and 2 queens the other. We booked this hotel for Memorial Day weekend. If there was a camper for rent I would have rented it. Our beds did not fitted sheets our top cover had stains. Called to change sheets and covers. Bathroom. Not soap 2 towns. Called 3 times before they got it half way right. You get what pay for $900 for weekend. Never again. Old. The clientele was different. But we had ocean view was beautiful. If I were you pay the money get something nicer. Party house. Pot smell every where. I had my family w me w 2 grand boys. Live and learn. Everything was booked. This place is the absolute worst. It's super ran down the rooms smell horrible. The house keeper asked my husband for some of his medical marijuana. The hot tub is filthy and so is the pool. The breakfast is boiled eggs and waffles with watery juice or coffee. I tripped on a pipe sticking out the ground. The table ripped my bathing suit with the rusted edges. There was throw up on the side of the mattress. The only good thing is that it's on the beach. We tried moving but Bookings.com wanted to take $780 for cancelation fee when they have false information and pictures that don't match on the website. when we arrived we were under the impression we reser a beach front room with a kitchen. When we went to check our room we were not beach front nor was there a kitchenette, even though it was requested. One if the double bed frames was broken and the room was not very clean. When we asked to move we got a room with a kitchenette that had a light that didn't work and the stove didn't work either. If I could give this place negative stars it would get a negative 2. It could have been a nice very quaint and beautiful hotel had it been maintained and cared for. This place is gross. I think they pay their staff in free rooms. Because this place was dirty. Even the outside was filthy. The walkways could have atleast been cleaned. When we got to the hotel it was late cold and raining. Not at all like Florida but we wanted to be at the beach so we took the chance. First the room was so gross I couldn't let me kids take their shoes off because the floor was dirty. Then we looked in the closet and there was a big ball of rolled up sheets with what looked like chicken bones falling out of the side and mold was growing on the top of. They must have been there weeks. And it smelled gross. The bathroom was dirty too. So we were moved to another room and this room was not much better. It was still dirty but atleast we had a fridge so we could keep our drinks cold. But the heat wouldn't come on and it was 40 outside this night a cold front was moving in. So we just snuggled in bed and prayed the roaches wouldn't crawl on us at night. I will Never go back unless I was gonna buy the place and really fix it up. And I didn't even make any sense that it smelled like chemicals because the room was absolutely disgusting there were stains and rips on both beds there was a used bathroom towel on the floor the toilet wasn't clean the shower had a crack in the floor there were bugs on the floor dead and alive the curtain to the outside was ripped overall spend the money and go to a nicer hotel because this hotel needs to be tore down and completely rebuilt. read more

We were looking for a hotel within our budget, that had free breakfast/wifi, and an ocean view. This hotel was one of the few that was in our budget. Outside, it looks really nice. The building is shaped different than other hotels, it has a hawaiian theme to it. The beach is right there, and there's a pool and jacuzzi. Our hotel room's look is something I won't complain about because you do get what you pay for. However, I will complain that behind the furniture and in the corner is full of dust and debris. It seems like they sweep the floor into the walls. The room smells of mildew a little, but other than that it's decent for the price. Wifi, is a joke. It doesn't work on my phone or my computer, and if it does start to work, it's super slow. I was even at the front desk trying to connect and couldn't. The breakfast isn't anything special. See photos. Tupperware containers of questionable items, some bread/bagels, and the 2 worst brands of cereal. The biscuits and gravy weren't bad, though. The jacuzzi is also a joke. The week we stayed it was chilly, mid 60s, and so we changed into our bathing suits to get into the jacuzzi. Upon approaching it we realized that it was just dirty, leafy, cold shallow water (see photos). Housekeeping was on point. Every evening when we returned, the bed had been made, trash was taken out, and the bathroom/shower had been cleaned. Idk, we might stay again. The location was perfect, but you get what you pay for. There were pool toys that the kids could use at the front desk. Lounge chairs in the pool and beach area. Being right on the ocean was perfect. At check in we had tiny bugs all over the windows. They were biting us. I asked the front desk if they could spray or do something about the bugs and the woman's response was "they will go away. I can't do anything about it." The same woman was very rude when we were having issues with the plumbing. The beds aren't that comfortable. Breakfast was okay. They will make pancakes and waffles. The location is great but the rooms need updating and a good cleaning. There was mold on the furniture, in the curtains. We got what we paid for. read more

And yes I'm sure so just be careful leaving anything you don't want stolen inside the room. No housekeeping all week. And the best part... No deadbolt on door or latch at top of door and my door didn't close correctly. When I asked about this, I was assured the key lock was all that was needed and only key holders could get in. Imagine my surprise when on my last night, a young man barged thru the door at 2 a.m.! Security blamed me for not closing door. Since it didn't close properly, I always made sure it was closed tightly. While I was in the office on the phone with booking. Com trying to get my money back, there were four more people behind me complaining. The people in the room down from us were leaving too and was disgusted with their rooms. Was able to get most of my money refunded. This place was extremely dirty and just plain gross. The white towels were a shade of yellow and the bed and pillow covers were full of black spots. There was also a strong smell of moisture and the room was just very unpleasant. The staff insisted it was just "from the dryer" instead of uncleanliness. Beware that there is a one day pay policy where even if you want to leave they will charge you that first night. Would not recommend at all. The room was advertised as 68$ a night but when they charged us it ended up being a total of 184$, still being cheaper than most hotels on the strip I was fine with that until I saw the room. It was dirty, outdated and felt very unsafe as the door connecting to other rooms did not lock. When we tried to get a refund they tried to tell us we couldn't get one, eventually they did refund us though. We ended up staying at the Hawaiian Inn which was more expensive but much nicer. read more

However whatvreally made me angry was that upon check in i inquired as tobwhatvthecratecwoukd be if i decided to increase my stay by one day. Makai Beach Lodge took some creative liberties when they included the word "Resort" in their name. Based on the reviews I read, I was well aware that the bar was low for this hotel, but the price was right and location was perfect. The most noticeable feature of our room was the door that connected to the neighboring suite. I understand the utility of the door, however when it is as thin as plywood, has a 2-inch gap at the bottom, and the neighbor won't stop jiggling the handle it became an unsettling amenity. The cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. I felt like I couldn't unwind and the bedding was so old I had to lay on my back all night to ensure my face wouldn't come in contact with the pillow. And sleep...well that was futile. The vibrations of the motorcycles parked directly below us, coupled with what sounded to be a convalescing whooping cough victim in the room next to us made sleep an allusive prospect. As a seasoned traveler I've learned to take experiences like these in stride. With a friendly staff, decent free breakfast, and a beautiful ocean at your doorstep, this hotel wasn't all bad. However, when the opportunity arose, we didn't hesitate to hit the road one night early. I don't think I'll be coming back to this "resort". read more

Definitely in need of a revamp. Staff are friendly but do a terrible job of cleaning. To be specific, we had an open/used tampon casing on our courtyard...the entire stay. I understand that this place is also too far gone to be salvaged in some areas but at the same time, the lack of upkeep on anything/everything makes this a hard review to keep positive. The beds were decent and sheets clean but the bathroom was unkept, rusty, and the meth lab...aka kitchen was manageable. This place was the worst place I have ever attempted to stay at. I cannot call this a hotel as I feel that would be an overstatement and misleading to anyone who would even think to go there. The sheets that were supposed to be white were a mix of yellow and beige, the floor was full of other peoples hair and the toe nail clippings were the icing on the cake. When this was brought to the attention of the night manager and we asked him if he would like to see the issues, his response "No, I'm sure it is what you say, We get this all the time." With that knowledge you would think they would at least try and clean up the place. Booked room on a discount website. It cost over $100 for the night for a dirty run down hotel that needs to be torn down. The window in the bathroom was busted out and there was no heat or AC in the room. It was filthy from years of use and grime on the floors. The continental breakfast was far from continental, toast, juice and warmed sausage gravy in a crock pot. I will say the pool and hot tub were warm and clean and the room was directly on the ocean. Your better off checking in to the Hilton with a room facing the river as it is $20 les than this dive! read more

2 full size beds in our room 1:00 in the morning I feel something crawling on my arm I swat it jump out of bed turn the light on it's a big roach .My GF freaked out there were only 2 of us so we moved to the other bed and 1/2 hour later another ROACH crawling on me !! Well after reading the reviews I noticed Most to be true. It is quiet and much older hotel. I liked that old modern feel though. Problem was our room had no phone so if we didn't have cell phones we couldn't even call 911 then the real issue was the black pubic hairs all on the toilet , toothpaste in the sink.... but the floor... my tile was so dirty we had to go buy a bottle of bleach cleaner and scoot around on the floor to clean it. When I brought it to the manager Chris attention he stated he has had several complaints with that wing so the housekeeper would be talked too. Now, with this being an issue he was aware of as a manager I would have expected some form of refund or a comp night ... but no .. nothing.. zilch...I can't say I won't stay again but next time my room will be checked and I will ask to have the floor cleaned and mopped prior to me checking in. Stayed this past weekend here July 26-28th. All I can say is just dont.! Unless this is the only place you can find. The pics online do not even show what you really get. In the first 2 minutes of opening the door we discovered a 1960s remake. Same beds everything. 1 lamp NO phone just dead. TV remote had to be replaced due to fact someone had chewed buttons OFF? Fridge was rusted half up front and covered in mold on door. No power plugs in walls worked only on the table in room that actually had plug ins on it. Pool is small and depth is 4ft 6. Kiddie pool cant even be seen from it. The back side lead to the beach but you had to walk thru what looked like a homeless camp to get there. Complete with string clothes lines grills everywhere. ACs rusted and looking like they were gonna fall. Lots of noise and parking your car is a nightmare. If you get a spot you best not move or your outta luck. For almost 400 bucks it was a RIP off. Oh the water that fills the bathroom floor while you shower is lots of fun too and the 1 mirror you get in there is funny too. Beach view is the ONLY thing it has going for it! this place is disgusting. they left a bag of poop in a plastic bag and there was dried up pee in the plastic bag as well and it had to have been there for awhile because it was stuck to the floor. me and my family asked 3 different workers if they would come into the room and clean it up. only one worker came in and they just scrubbed the poop from the toilet. also in our rooms (we had two separate rooms), there was hair in the drain of the shower and it looked disgusting. the bed sheets and pillow cases had stains on them and they were brown so who knows what that was from. we had to wait a day for the manager to come in and one of the workers (his name is steve dont trust steve lmao) said that the manager came in at 12 the next day and that he would give us a refund, steve then later offered us other rooms (2) and they were both disgusting, so we were transfered into a different hotel next store, next day we got no refund and the manager is very very rude and everyone in the hotel just lies. worst experience ever, do not stay here. read more
