Furnace went out and now learning that cannot be replaced without extensive construction work to house! HVAC companies refusing to do work due to liabilities! Recent new townhomes in Bethany Creek Falls (in Oregon) have been significantly overpriced. The Dogwood series is the same floorplan as Magnolia minus a room, bathroom, deck and is 150 sq ft smaller. However, Dogwood is $25K more. Also, the Sequoia series is the same floorplan as Willow minus a room, bathroom, deck and is 200 sq ft smaller. However, Sequoia is 15K more. read more

My wife and I just bought a polygon home and our experience was nothing like the other posters. The salespeople were very friendly and professional, even going out of their way to help us lock in our unit's price when we first connected with them despite other units starting to sell for more. Since we only just moved into our place, I can't speak to the longevity of it, but so far we absolutely love it. We also have the 5 year warranty just in case, which will transfer along with the home if we ever decide to sell it. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience working with Ted, John, Dawn, Kristie, and Tammy through each step in the process. I bought a home in Viewcrest (SeaTac) neighborhood back in 2006. Total nightmare. House was brand new & I had nonstop issues from the moment I moved in. *MICE already living in my house because of access points that were not filled. *front door didn't seal properly, you could see light & feel air *the plumbing from the 3rd floor sounded like I had a waterfall in my stairwell & could swear water damage was occurring (but I could see nothing) *paper thin walls(you could literally hear your neighbors in their homes with everyones windows closed. And yes, this was a house (detached condo to be specific) with no shared walls! You would also swear there was zero insulation in this house! Freezing moments after the heat turned off so my heat was constantly running! * master bath window was installed crooked * numerous & random installations upside down or backwards This list goes on & on! **********And the real topper, was Polygon telling me I was too detailed & picky!!!! That my problems were not a problem to other buyers & they weren't getting these complaints from anyone else!!!!! Plus, sales team LIED about practically everything. We were told all the trees would be open space which after 2 years Polygon tore almost everything down and at the worst time, in spring, killing all the bird eggs (yes, I witnessed the birds searching for their eggs or finding them on ground, dead) and I had called polygon begging them to please wait till after Spring! Did not care about the birds or environment for one moment! They only do what they legally HAVE to do, do not let them fool you. * I was told I could plant flowers, etc in my yard & I would come home to everything being chopped down, mowed down, whatever the landscapers wanted to do in my yard & HOA never cared or reimbursed me. Yet HOA will be on your back the moment you leave your garbage/recycling out for the weekend & will fine you for it! God forbid you ever take a weekend trip or longer. Better hire someone or have a friend come to your house to bring in the garage (which is mandatory) Good luck to you if you don't listen to the negative Yelp reviews; they are all true & you will regret buying here or any Polygon property. We recently bought a house at High Point, Seattle. The biggest issue we are having is the internet connectivity. We were not made aware of the fact that there is no internet availability in the area. The plant is still under construction and we do not know how much time it will take to get set up and running. While this can be expected out of Comcast, had we known that the Polygon property we purchased belonged to a non internet zone we would have never made the biggest investment of our lives. This is one of the worst builder I have dealt with. Filled with Jerks all over. They changed the agreed upon price and terms without notifying the change to client. Client not aware of new changes end up got screwed up. They do lot of bait and switch techniques and their sales team is worst than dealing with a used car salesman. They changed agreed upon price/terms with so many clients it is really disgusting to deal with them. They have no shame in doing all kind crook techniques get the business and money. They have no ethics and moral standard of any sort. No wonder the construction quality as bad the lousy sales they had which is reflected in other reviews. I just bought my first home ever with polygon. Their professional service , attitude and Customer Service was wonderful from the get-go. Everyone says buying a house is the most stressful thing in the world I call BS on that if you deal with polygon and the staff I had the pleasure of dealing with it will be a smooth ride from takeoff to landing and if you do everything right you close within 30 days or less in my case I close in 20 days. We have raised our family in our Polygon NW home for 15 years. We love our neighborhood, our floor plan, and the people we have spent the last 15 years with. What we don't love is that our home was built in the cheapest way possible by the lowest bid contractors with builder grade materials. When we bought our home new in 1999 we knew it was cheap but were willing to do the work it would take over the long haul to make it right. After only 15 years we are literally rebuilding this house from the outside in. Our 25 year composition roof needs replacing at 15 years because it was not installed properly to begin with. The plastic strips were never removed from the backs of the 3-tab to allow the tar to set, the roofers used staples instead of nails, and it has blown off in every wind storm since we bought the place causing us to make two claims on our homeowners insurance since 2006. The new roof will cost over $10K. This year we replaced 100 percent of our failing Weyerhaeuser siding that was rotting off of our home. This project was more than $20K. The plumbing scares me to death, I have seen it and it is so thin and fragile that it will need replacing next. The siders nailed through a pipe in the garage when installing the new siding because the pipe was laying directly on the sheetrock instead of 2" off of it as per code. The bread and butter of Polygon's business is young families who are impressed by flashy decor in models and smart floor plans. Tight communities with kind neighbors live together in close quarters and build relationships that last a lifetime. If you can live with every floorboard creaking and way-more-than-routine maintenance, a Polygon home may be the one for you. But remember, you get what you pay for. read more

My husband and I were slated to purchase in the Timberland community in Portland, OR. We were going to purchase the Dahlia floor plan. We were impressed upon first visiting the location and the location of the community was perfect. My husband and I were a little put off by the sales rep, Liz Holland, who waved us off and told us where the models were and to check things out on our own when we expressed interest in a condo instead of a detached home. Liz was nice on follow-up visits, but seemed fake. When the unit was completed, my husband and I were put off by the color the condo was painted since the walls, ceiling, doors, and all trim work were painted the same flat beige color. In the model the ceiling, doors, and all trim were painted white and that s what we were expecting. When we expressed our concern to Liz, she immediately shut down and told us the model was not an accurate representation of the condo. I thought that was the whole point of the model? The paint color is not spelled out anywhere on the options addendum. My husband and I, along with our realtor, took the appropriate channels to talk to someone who could potentially help with the paint color since Liz became unresponsive and rude. The owner, Fred Gast, classified my husband and I as difficult clients (without having met or talked to us - all communication was done through our realtor). Fred cancelled the sale of the condo TWO DAYS before the closing date, which left my husband in a very tight spot. It all boiled down to a lie that Liz told Fred and she refused to set the lie straight. Liz told Fred my husband said he was going to sue Polygon, which never even came up in any conversation. After back and forth with our realtor, Fred sent a cancellation addendum to my husband behind our realtor's back - keep in mind this was after he refused to talk to us about the issues at hand. We refused to sign the cancellation. If you have a choice, do not deal with this company. Liz is fake and lies to cover her own mistakes and Fred likes to throw his weight around with his power position. Very unprofessional actions all around. read more

Having bought a new construction condo built by Polygon just four years ago, I now have large cracks on every section of the ceiling running from corner to corner, under every window, and several walls. Site prep work was not done properly and Polygon said our warranty was for three years only. Never again. read more

Had a leak from the bathroom that went through the kitchen roof. When the plumber put the drain on he torqued the pvc and instead of replacing it filled it with putty. There was some challenges upon moving in, but they were handled in a timely and satisfying manner. We think the warranty department went above and beyond to make our purchase memorable. There are good eggs and bad eggs in this company but I would never recommended anyone to buy a home from Polygon unless they are prepared to deal with allot of issues. The sales team is the worst, the lead realtor is very nice but hard to get a hold of, her assistant on the other hand is defensive, rude, and extremely unhelpful. Also Polygon assigned the day the home inspection is and only gives you one day, regardless if the home is ready to be inspected or not. Our inspector couldn't do a full assessment since everything was not completed. We had to do two walk throughs because we were not comfortable that everything would be taken care of before we closed. The only high point was the guy that did our walk through with us, he was very nice and helpful; he seemed like the only one who cared if we were happy with the house. The builder was stand offish at first but eventually warmed up and seems like the only one in the entire company that knows what is going on. On top of everything else we were told to go to the post office to set up our mail and get the key to the boxes, when I expressed concern that I did not see any mail boxes by the houses I was told that I was mistaken they were there. When we went to the post office they said that Polygon had not contacted them and that the boxes were sitting in the post office waiting for Polygon to pick them up and install them. We then went to tell Polygon about the boxes, but ran into the builder and he said it would be at least 2 weeks before the mail boxes would be ready and that it was a normal time-frame. If you need answers always go to the builder, everyone else has no idea what is going on with the house/neighborhood. read more

I bought a new house in Bethany Creek community one year back- great location and nice neighborhood. But I will never recommended anyone to buy a home from Polygon unless you like the community that much that you are ok spending money out of your pocket to get major repairs done or ready to live with issues that will annoy you everyday (e.g. squeaking floor, poor plumbing). I kept seeing the issues throughout the first year of our stay here and almost every time I logged an issue with warranty folks I was told to wait for the yearly maintenance visit. I got some issues taken care of by our handymen for things that I did not want to wait for an year. The experience of yearly maintenance warranty visit is the most horrible one. Our floor had major squeaking issues and the polygon guy kept trying to fix it on his own without engaging the floor contractor (most likely to save money). When he could not fix the issues he started making excuses such as squeak free home is not possible, that he has spent a lot of time to fix things etc. After repeated visits from the maintenance folks (visits but no results) and my persistence to not let the issue go they finally engaged the floor contractor company but only for two issues, which the floor contracting company folks took care of completely (since they know their work). I still have multiple squeaking floor issues but Polygon folks are not ready to fix them. They want to wait for 2nd year visit. I will probably end up getting the whole floor redone at my own cost- which really sucks after you pay high dollars for buying the home. I generally don't write reviews but this was super painful experience and I wanted to make sure that folks who plan to buy home in Polygon (at least Bethany Creek Fall community) know of what they are getting into and not get fooled by the 3 year warranty that the builder offers. read more

We have had a horrible experience with this builder building in our neighborhood. They have seem to have no control over their contractors noise levels and will build against county ordinance. We and other neighbors have lodged complaints with King City and Polygon has had their permits suspended only to then violate again. I can only imagine what kind of poor construction quality is going in to these houses not to mention the devaluation of the existing neighborhood of these cheap built houses. Buyer beware! read more

Quality is builder grade, so it looks nice, but doesn't last or age well over time. Main issue I have is the lies we were told when purchasing. Polygon RUINED what should have been a nice 55+ community by merging an older Homeowner's Association and NOT telling and hiding info to new buyers about an amendment that created different allocations of interest making the new owners pay higher HOA fees. There is CONSTANT division between phases and rudeness that never would have happened if all information was properly disclosed/legally/communicated to the new buyers, so they actually KNEW what they were actually buying in to. I was an ARCH buyer and expected a slow increase in HOA fees over time, but in 1 year have already had to go through litigation/assessment for the "original/older" homes, I was unaware of when buying EVEN HAD issues and on top of that, HOA fees for the "new" phase homes all went up, whereas the older homes (that need more upkeep/maintenance) only had their HOA fees go up a little due to a hidden/non-disclosed Amendment and paperwork I NEVER received when buying my home. If I had known this, I would never have bought my home. Shame on the Sales and the Executive Team for trying to dupe 55+ home buyers. What should have been a nice 55+ community to live in, is now tainted with bitterness and battling homeowners. SO DISAPPOINTING that this is how so many had to start retirement, with arguments, nasty comments, personal attacks, and negativity all because the BUILDER wanted to profit and hide information from the new buyers.
