History
Established in 1960.
Pomeroy's Garage is a 2nd generation full-service auto repair shop founded by Bill Pomeroy and owned by his son John Pomeroy since 1993. Locally known for honesty, fairness, and good value, Bill and John have spent the last 55 years running their business on the idea that you deserve a repair shop that will be honest about what your vehicle needs, fix it right the first time, and charge a fair price.
We also think you should be treated with respect. We don't confuse you with technical terms and we don't do any work without your approval. We also know how important it is that your estimate is produced promptly, that we stay in touch with you, and that the work is done correctly and quickly.
Finally, we also know that repairs usually don't fit into the budget, so we now offer no-interest 6-month Special Financing on qualifying purchases.
Meet the Business Owner: John P.
John Pomeroy is a lifelong 'motorhead' who has been working in the auto service field since he was very young. He started as a full service gas attendant at his father Bill's original gas station / repair shop on Main St, and then as he got older he began helping with repairs. When he graduated from high school, Bill was getting ready for retirement, so together they moved the shop to the family homestead on McCard Rd. John officially took over ownership in the early 90s.
John is an avid deer/moose/turkey hunter (rifle and bow), and a Harley enthusiast. He's also an accomplished builder in his spare time... he built his own home in 2001, and then in 2013 he built both a 2-bay addition to the shop and also a barn. In the middle of all that he married his wife Sharon (who is now the part-time office manager for the shop) in the fall of 2013. Together, they enjoy life on their small farm with horses, chickens, a dog and a cat.
