Great place to stay when going to the races in Pomona. I liked it because they don't gouge you on race weekend like the other nearby places. I spent a couple of hours looking and they were really the only decent place that didn't jack up their normal rates. The other important item - the beds. The beds were FANTASTIC. My back gets sore with nearly all hotel beds - even the ones in high end hotels. Both my travel partner and I were amazed at how comfortable the beds were. They must be made of an advanced material and be new. Otherwise, it's an older road motel. They clearly take great effort to keep it as clean as possible, as I check anywhere I stay for crud in the tile corners, etc. I will be staying there next November without a doubt. Extra bonus - they are right across the street from The Top - a 'world famous' Pastrami and other item sandwich restaurant. Cannot be missed. read more

Kids screaming could not sleep cockroaches dirty and the beds have stains everywhere

I've stayed here once before back in Spring of '22 and had a decent experience. However, this time was much different and the reason I'm giving this review. The night I checked in I opened the fridge to find a little roach. Things like this don't honestly bother me too much, as long as it's not a full on infestation. Didn't see anything else until the next evening around 10pm or so as I was going to sleep, when I saw two roaches on my nightstand next to the clock. I was so tired from a big bike ride that day that I just crashed, before waking up and taking my Lyft to the airport. Point is, I did not tell anyone at the hotel until I called the front desk just now (a day after check-out), when the front desk person argued with me about whether or not they have bugs. I booked these two nights through Hotels.com, in which I used my rewards, so it cost me nothing. I'm not asking either Hotels.com or Garden Inn & Suites for compensation, I'm simply trying to inform them of what I saw only to be met with being told I'm wrong. Do with the info what you will, but I stayed in Room 227 on 03/11-13 and I saw roaches in this room. read more

We were very happy with our 8 day stay at the Garden. It's small but the grounds are kept in perfect order and the room was spacious and well appointed. Beds are always a problem for my husband but this bed was comfortable for both of us. We slept like a baby! The room also has a little kitchenette with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. Very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. read more

This place is pretty run down. The bathroom door is very hard to open, it scrapes across the floor. The closet, which is a standing closet, like Oops they forgot to add one when building the room, doesn't have hangers. The walls are so thin, I could hear the people in the room next door snoring and when they talked it was like they were in my room. The people above sounded like elephants dancing. The door lock was broken. They ask for you to pay for the room before giving you a key and then $100 deposit in addition to your room fee for any damages you may do ro the room during your stay. Never heard of a hotel doing this and that should have been a clue as to the condition of this place. What kind of people are staying here? Very sketchy. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

This is a classic California motor lodge with large rooms and nice amenities for the price. The location of the motel is convenient to visitors to Glendora, Azusa, San Dimas, and Covina. There are plenty of dining options nearby. The complimentary breakfast is not too good, but there are good options (Flappy Jack's and Broken Yoke) within walking distance. I have stayed here for a week at a time before and the owner was very generous in providing the weekday rate for the entirety of our stay. I travel to the San Gabriel Valley quite regularly and this is a place that I have added to my list. read more

We first noticed this place with attractive landscaping when going to Flappy Jack's Pancake House (excellent!). I saw prices and room availability on-line while waiting to be seated there. Right after breakfast we walked into the lobby of the Garden Inn & Suites and spoke with the manager to make a reservation for that day/night. To our surprise, he said they only had one room left and the price was much higher than we saw on-line only about an hour earlier. With our senior discount, it was still ok with us because it looked good and other alternatives we were aware of did not. While we were paying for our room, another couple asked if they had any rooms and were turned away. Our room was nice and comfortable. We especially liked the big office-like chair with desk and the abundance of a variety of pillows (thick or thin, etc.) on the good bed. When we went out to dinner, we were surprised that we couldn't get back into our room with either of our card keys. We went to the lobby and a very helpful staff member came back with us to our room door and worked with the locking mechanism for a couple of minutes. Thankfully he managed to get the door open. We didn't leave the room again until we were ready to check out because we didn't want to have that problem again. The breakfast (included) we enjoyed the next morning was surprisingly good. Avoid this place unless you like to find Hair and black mold in your bathroom, flickering landscape lights that go off and on all night, hard l, cold and cheap wood laminate floors throughout the entire room, extremely noisy air cond & heater, the front office with doors always locked while you wait for minutes after ringing a door bell for a couple minutes. Abs, the office staff who have absolutely no personality and never greet you with a smile; no breakfast but only a " grab & go " paper bag that you must wait for. Honestly, this is the worst motel we have stayed in over the last 20 years . Terrible, It is old and dated. You hear doors slam and close from many rooms away. The diverter valve in the tub/ shower unit was broken so, turning on the shower saw very little water coming out shower head and most of the water was going out the tub faucet. Very few parking spots which forced you to park in the back where there were old cars and furniture strewn on other parking spaces. What a dump! We got out in the morning as fast as we could. It's sad that such a nice town as Glendora has so few, if any.... nice hotels.... You have to go to San Dimas or Monrovia. Nothing nice in Glendora. read more

This is a relatively small, family owned hotel. We got checked in by the adult daughter; the mom stood behind her watching her every move. No corrections were necessary but Mom directed anyway. The amenities are by no means fancy, and this is by no means a fancy hotel. But it is quite reasonably priced and the price/value is excellent. It is located on famous Route 66 directly across from The Hat, which (according to its website) offers World Famous Pastrami. The hotel is remarkably quiet considering it's location. The room (we had a King Suite) was ready and clean, and featured a fridge/freezer, microwave, iron/ironing board, coffee and coffee pot. There was a couch and a desk, a breakfast table with requisite chairs, and an air conditioner that successfully battled the heat outdoors (it was 90+ outside). Free wi-fi rocks my world. Would have been nice to have a pool but was nice to not spend the money on a hotel with a pool. We had booked two nights but were only able to stay the first night due to an emergency. The mom gave us zero hassles and quickly refunded the charge for the second night. read more

I don't recommend this place to stay at all. I booked a room through Travelocity for July 3, 2021. Although Travelocity states that plans change & cancelations can be allowed. They said that it be based on the motel policies. I went to the motel in person to request that my room be cancelled & I no longer needed the room. So he can refund my $ & give the room to someone else. The man was extremely rude & said "we don't do that" "no cancellations, no refunds." I explain again that I didn't want the room anymore, so why should I get charged a very expensive price of $153.70 for a room that I no longer needed or wanted, as plans change? He walks over to the computer and pretends to type something. And comes back again & said "no I can't give you your money back." What kind of business does this? Thinking it's ok to take people's money for a service they didn't provide. That's theft in my opinion and shadiness & greed. Then the jerk looks at me like a prostitute, saying "why do you want to cancel anyway?" I explained again that I didn't need the room anymore. It was a big financial burden to me & I started to cry & he asked if I was ok. Oh please, he didn't care, he just laughed in my face & stole my money. Looks like a decent place, but don't let that fool you. If there was a NEGATIVE STAR RANKING OPTION, I would have ranked it -10. This is a pretty strong NEGATIVE TORQUE. When we arrived, my Taxi Driver, out of concern, told me to never walk the grounds alone at night there because of the Meth Heads that walk around this area. When arrived to our room, I noticed the vinyl plank flooring was awfully dirty. It appears that they don't mop or swiffer in there, that's for sure, and they don't provide one for me to use for myself either. When I pulled down the bed sheets to get ready for sleep, I saw a tiny spider rapidly crawling towards the pillows. The spider was UNDER THE BLANKETS travelling northbound like a bat out of hell. The beds were a little lumpy and lopsided. The sheets were clean and smelled washed, but they had dark stains on them. The comforters on top had cigarette burn holes!!! The air conditioners were noisey. The grout in bathroom needs to be kept up, all stained. Oh, what a night! The next day when we left for the entire day and finally got back, I discovered the maid completely bypassed our room! I never hung a DO NOT DISTURB sign! We just never got a room service! After dinner, I brought back some food. Are you ready for this? The fridge had left over pieces of someone else's lettuce or kale remnants in there. That fridge/freezer hasn't been cleaned in a while, as it was accumulating ice chunks. Here's the kicker: On the last day we were phone called by the office and told to get out. Mind you, it was raining outside and we were waiting for our family friends to pick us up outta this Hell Hole. The motel manager would not even let us stay in the lobby until our ride came, so my son and I were outside, standing next to plastic benches in the wind and rain, with our suitcases. I was about to start crying. Fortunately, the manager finally saw my pain and saw us standing at the fully rained on benches, knowing we needed umbrellas or shelter. He heard me telling and yelling to my son, "I am not about to soak my panties! I refuse to sit on wet benches for my Mother's Day." I was so disappointed and angry. The manager asked for the maid to at least dry the bench with towels so that we could sit in the rain. So Nobody was actually cleaning our room, but we were also not allowed to dodge the weather in there either. What a miserable Mother's Day, 2022. If I knew this site accepted pictures, I would have uploaded the horror. Fortunately for them, I was so unhappy, I tried NOT to photograph anything there. I'm NEVER coming back. I wish i could leave a lesser rating because these people earned every bit of it. I went to this place to help a friend fill out some paperwork for her unemployment and I walk to my truck to put something away. As I'm walking back towards the room, this idiot is in the process of kicking two other guest visitors out of the hotel. He yells at me saying I need to leave or be arrested. I asked him what I did and he says I was there since this morning which was untrue, then proceeded to be extremely rude along with cussing at me and calling me names. Finally I had enough and said some choice words back. Wanted to take flight on him but that would have been me being arrested because this guy has not customer service or even human skills at all. Then I proceeds to call my friend in their room and claims that I shoved him which again was a blatant lie. We were right in the middle of the cameras so Im not worried about that. Ill never recommend this shit hole to anyone but ill make sure I tell everybody how they treat every single person there like garbage. I dont even know how they are in business at 800 a week.talk about way overpriced. Wouldn't pay 200 a week at that roach infested slum. They have no clue how to be hospitable, or professional. I've stayed at Garden Inn and Suites twice, finding mostly positives with some negatives. On the good side the staff were generally attentive and helpful. The inn is centrally located. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are clean. On the negative - The air conditioner filter was stuffy and put some stuff into the air which hurt the air quality. The bed sloped downwards toward the headboard. This was true on both visits and on each visit I had the very same room. At one point I needed a new key for my room and the night staff did not bother to check his computer to make sure that I was actually the guest for that room, he just gave me a key no questions asked. This was disturbing. When I checked out I constructively gave these comments to the Inn's manager, but she seemed impatient, was waiting for me to finish, and hardly was interested. read more

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. This is a private family owned business. The family has no sense of customer service and the man working who owns it actually called me a "dumb bitch" and yelled "fuck you" at me multiple times when i demand my $100 deposit back. Let's make this clear, this is a motel not a hotel. PROS: Excellent front desk service, decent free continental breakfast, spacious room, mini fridge, soft water if you like that sort of thing. CONS: dated room, funky odor, lots of mosquitos, stained towels, super thin ceilings and walls, holey sheets, fickle remote, awful WiFi, soft water if you hate that sort of thing. TIPS: check out the Hilton Home 2 a couple exits away off the 210 fwy in Azusa, it's brand new with a free hot breakfast and a pool. That's where we ended up after a night filled with mosquitos bites (literally slapped one off as it was dining on my leg in the bathroom) and a play by play of every step taken above us. If you need a place to crash, the Garden Inn works but if you're looking for hotel comforts and speedy WiFi, keep looking elsewhere. read more

Room was very clean, good bedding although the bedspread was dated but clean and good quality. I was concerned about noise on Route 66 but we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and serene our stay was including great sleep! We slept great! We recommend this hotel for the price!!! Wonderful stay in a small, family-run motel! All staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Great dining recommendations & always with a smile. The room was spacious & comfortable & "the quietest hotel room that I've ever stayed in". With a liquor store on the corner & the hotel on Route 66, I was expecting some level of traffic noise or at least hear people talking. Nothing at all and it was a Friday night. Off street parking was tight, but acceptable. Lots of security camera running, which was comforting. Can't comment on the breakfast because we had an early morning race before the breakfast start time. What really prompted me to write this review was as I had checked out & was driving out, the manager ran our & stopped me to tell me that I'd forgotten an item in the room. They actually carried it down and I simply tossed it in the trunk. Spectacular customer service!!! For the price, value & location, I'd stay in this great little motel in a heartbeat! read more

Tl;dr: nice place that I would stay at again! I am writing this on my cell so excuse typos - autocorrect is off to keep me sane and out of trouble. Review done individually by outside, service, room and overall age of the hotel. Outside: Very clean and well-maintained. Looks like it has been here for a while, but also appears classy and "homey". It isn't the Ritz, and it is better that way. It is less intimidating and feels more like somewhere a real person would stay. Service: Checked in a little late. Very friendly and accommodating when I called to tell them I'd be late. Arrived after 9pm and was upgraded to a suite. The lady at the counter at check in was polite and introduced the hotel "stuff" (wifi password, breakfast times, etc) quickly and efficiently. Check in took barely a minute - awesome! Went into my room and realized that I needed to print a document and that I had forgotten toothpaste. Now later at night (10ish), I went to the front desk and the gentleman at the desk (the owner I presume but am not positive) was really nice. Although there is no business center, he asked me to email my print to him and he would take care of it. Then he gave me toothpaste. Would not accept a tip either, claiming that "this is my job". Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service thus far. Room: Very nice, with a king bed and kitchenette. There is a 4 cup coffee pot, a mini-fridge, microwave and several cabinets. The shower/tub and toilet are behind a door with the vanity/sink outside - an absolute must when traveling with my wife. The water is hot, although it takes a minute to figure out the controls. Nice marble counters. Small wooden table for 2, a wooden desk with an executive chair, a wardrobe, a dresser with a flat screen on top, 2 nightstands (with power outlets and light switches for bedside lamps - very nice - I can plug in my cell phone and still use it from bed!!) Nice, individually packages toiletries, including separate soap for body and face. Age: The fixtures and electronics are new. The furniture is older and used but serviceable and in no way affect the room's value. read more

I have to admit this hotel served my purposes on the way to the races in Pomona. We drove in were greeted in the parking lot by the manager who pointed where we could park -- We had beautiful Rockstar parking right up front. Check in was easy and I did really like having a little mini Snickers candy right at the desk. As we checked in I guess I could have stopped and had a whole bunch of those. The room was huge huge clean well put together. As it is ageing I know, the plumbing is aging, but it's all clean. As for my needs I sleep well and I'm off to the races today. If you're looking for a Hilton go for it you can spend a lot more. This place is like I say clean, everything works, what more can I ask for? read more

I booked this room for my disabled parents since they do not understand how to do it themselves. As a frequent traveler and someone who does this for them frequently, I was not expecting any issues. I booked them a King non-smoking room and in the notes stated that they needed first story handicap room since my mom had a stroke and has no use of her left side which makes stairs not an option. When my parents got there they were told that they should have called and made the reservation to get a handicap room or even a room on the first floor. Than the lady noticed that my mom obviously could not climb stairs, told them she could give them the handicap room but they are only "allowed" to use one of the two beds in their room. My parents agreed since they did not have much of a choice but I am absolutely appalled that any hotel would treat two disabled elderly people like that. read more

We needed a decent room on the spur of the moment, without forking out over $100. When we called to inquire about a room, the lady told us about the deluxe room, and also offered us a 10% discount. As opposed to the standard room, the Deluxe room offers a kitchenette, newer furnishings, and is very spacious. The room is clean and smells good. The bed is super soft and comfy. This quaint little inn is located beneath the San Gabriel Mtns. Shopping,food and freeway are all nearby. If you like pastrami, let me suggest The Hat, which is just across the street. My fiancé and I Needed a place to sleep for the night, most places were booked in the area needed. We landed here, price was affordable which can seem like lower quality...not the case. Got a room with a king size bed. Pleasantly surprised for sure. Room was large, clean, and very comfortable bed as well. Plenty of towels and pillows, plus mini fridge. Back lot and front lot for parking. I chose to park in back where no one parks, but one other car. Location was good too, all in reach and the staff was friendly and would assist if anything else was needed. If in the area again we will definitely stay there again. read more

My son & I were on our way down to a out of town baseball game , then the fire struck in the Cajon Pass we were stranded with no way to get home the freeway was closed......so we came here it was nice, little pricey close to a lot of entertainment and places to eat, the beds were big the A/C worked very well, no complaints other than being little high on price $90 for 2 queen beds, the Continental breakfast wasn't bad cereal, oatmeal, bagels, coffee etc. the basics.....I'd stay there again though. read more

Before I start my review, I want to say that if you live life with an open mind and focus on the positive more than the negative, you will be much more joyful person overall. I hope that gives you an idea of my perspective as you read my review. The rooms look newly remodeled with granite countertops and modern dark wood colored furniture. I was surprised because it looked a lot nicer than the pictures I saw on another site. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take pictures before I left. They are also very large. Our room seemed almost twice the size of other hotel rooms I've stayed in. When we checked in they said that they reserved a room on the second floor for us, but we requested a ground floor room (there are no elevators) and they switched us for no extra charge. They said it was a bigger room than we had at first. Since the rooms are so large, they use part of the space as a kitchenette. There is plenty of cupboard space, a mini fridge (make sure the thermostat is turned all the way up if you want your food and drinks to be cold), small microwave, coffee maker, and small sink in a moderately sized counter. Everything seemed clean. The sheets and towels smelled fresh. The bathroom and sink areas were clean. The room had a bit of a musty odor overall when we arrived, but my wife, who is very sensitive to smells, didn't complain. The air conditioning unit was in the wall below the window and it worked well even though it was in the high 90's during the day. I had to set it to a lower temperature than I thought at first to keep the room comfortable, but there was no problem once I figured that out. There is also a laundry area, though I didn't use it or check it out. The continental breakfast had a very limited selection, but it was more than adequate. If you are looking for something fancy, pay more for the hotel or spend your money at one of the many places to eat in the area. To give you an idea, there were muffins, bagels, bread, frozen waffles, cereal, yoghurt, Danishes, bananas, apples, and yes Sunny Delight. :) A word of caution, if you think you will need to check out late, be prepared to pay a little more. Other places I have stayed at give you a few hours of flexibility. I informed the front desk that I would be checking out a little late, I didn't know how late. I ended up checking out at 1:30 (checkout is at 12) and they charged me $20. I felt that they could have been a little more accommodating to me. But since that was the only disappointment in my very pleasant stay, this place gets 4 stars. read more

Not immaculately clean. The bathtub/shower has some stains on it, probably due to age. You see bits of dust in the corners here and there, and the room smelled a bit musty or something. But the rooms are good size, actually fairly large compared with a lot of modern hotel rooms. The heater/AC unit worked great and the décor wasn't bad. The bedding looked and smelled clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. The bed had about 6 pillows on it, which was nice. Nice, big flat-screen TV, frig, microwave, ironing board and iron. When you look at the hotel from the outside it is a politely beautiful! The garden in the name is definitely emphasized. However, the rooms are nothing like the outside. When we walked in, the room smelled really bad and it looked very depressing inside. Some rooms have small kitchens while others don't and we didn't know that. The beds were promised to be queens and they are fulls. The room is very dark and sad even with the windows open and it looks old. I would say this hotel is good for a one night stay when on a quick trip, but definitely not an over the weekend thing. Another thing that bothered me was that their wifi was too slow. I was trying to do some work on my tablet and it took so long to work that I decided to tether my iPad instead. Overall, beautiful outside, ugly rooms. read more

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We received exceptional service from all staff esp. Nisha. We enjoy several rooms, all big rooms , non-smoking with a king bed. Breakfast was excellent, pastries, bagels, yogurt, cereal, packaged oatmeals, great coffee, etc. There is a small coffee maker, fridge and microwave in each room. Free wi-fi and parking. For the most part I agree with Mark J., but I don't want to stay here agan. I had to clean the light switches, and I'm half-blind; if I have to clean the light switches, they're dirty. Worse was the continental breakfast, which granted is never anything to write home about. They had SunnyD orange drink instead of orange juice. I try to stay at independents, but this looked and felt like a place that had been downgraded, not upgraded, to independence. There was an upside that Mark J. did not mention: it was blessedly quiet, despite its location on a busy section of Route 66. I can't say it wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that bad.
