Feeling that it was unsafe I took it to la point tire and has them look it over and they informed me of her mistakes. I called to let her know and she offered me 5$ what a joke! When Service finally gets back to me, to book an appointment they make an excuse that it's their new phone system. It can't be their new phone system for the past two years! It has to be under staffed, laziness or something else! I think the owners of Don Johnson have no clue how mismanaged this service department is or they would solve this issue immediately. Just falls down on my Volkswagen, leaving a giant crack in my windshield and huge dents on my roof and hood, among other body damage. (Funny enough this is the second time a tree has fallen on a VW that I own and third time a tree has fallen on my property in general. I seem to have sucky karma with trees. Anyway ...) We knew we needed to at least repair the windshield before driving the 10-12 hours home. The body work could wait. Considering we were at my family's lake house in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, there were not any auto glass repair shops in town. A quick Yelp search led us to the Safelite in Rice Lake, about an hour away. We called their automated number, gave them our insurance claim number (they work with State Farm) and got the next available appointment, which was on Monday, the day after we were supposed to be home. So we took an extra day off and showed up with a car full of luggage, hoping to get a new windshield and then continue with the trek home. Thankfully, Safelite was on time for the appointment. They finished in just shy of an hour and a half, which was on the low end of the time quoted. And they pulled up the relevant insurance info. We ended up not owing any money out of pocket for the windshield. They even moved the sticker with info on my next oil change to my new windshield. Driving home without their help could have been a nightmare for lots of reasons. Thanks, Safelite, for taking at least the worry about the windshield off of our plates.

So I put on the correct year, make, and model. I received a quote for $399. I chose a time and got a confirmation e-mail and text. The final price with tax was $437.80. Sales tax is 5.5% or $22.95 so they added $16.85 worth of miscellaneous charges that didn't show up until the service appointment was made. I drove 45 minutes to the facility in Rice Lake, only to find they ordered the wrong glass. They could get the correct glass the next day, great, but the price went up to $531. I asked if they would honor their original quote, especially after I drove 45 minutes to a busted appointment. They said no. They didn't seem to care and were totally unapologetic. Unfortunately there is no option to give them zero stars, so one star will have to do.

We are an active duty military family on vacation from Texas and just outside of Rice Lake we had turbo intake hose on our 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV blow. We were 70 miles from where we were staying and found this GMC dealer online. Desperate, we went inside and explained our situation. We had no other vehicle, we were 1400 miles from home, and 70 miles from where we were staying, with zero options. We were stranded. Samuel, our service advisor, said he would need to talk to the manager Mel and see what they could do as they were booked solid. Samuel and Mel were able to squeeze my car in the very next day, despite being booked solid, and provide us with a loaner vehicle so we could make it to our lodging for the evening. This dealer was a lifesaver! They repaired my truck the next day and even let us keep the loaner car an extra day as it was our 25th wedding anniversary and we didn't want to spend it driving to pick up the vehicle. This is exactly what you want every dealer to do, but very few would go above and beyond like the team at Don Johnson Motors and Rice Lake. Don Johnson Collision in Cumberland did a great job repairing it. Then in January 2023, I hit a patch of black ice and back to the shop we went. I no sooner got it back and I hit a deer 50 feet from where the black ice was! 2 weeks later I hit a deer that took out the passenger side of my truck. Don Johnson's team has fixed my truck 3 times and each time it comes back better than it did when I first bought it. Kerri and Ryan are awesome and always make sure to keep their customers informed.
