5 stars I can't say enough good things about this place! Leo always comes back looking so dapper, like he's ready for a photoshoot. Walked in with the pretty woman song playing on my phone, told them I was Richard and this was Julia, and she needed everything!! Came back for her a few hours later and she went from stinky and messy and transformed to a proper lady . I left it up to them to do any services necessary. I was very happy with the service, pricing, and overall great customer service. They are very friendly, responsive, and caring. Truly a family owned and operated business and it shows. Today was Chase the Dog's first visit to Pono's. We typically use a mobile groomer, but I wanted to give this business a try. The staff was very friendly and the drop off and pick up was easy. The establishment is super clean and my dog was very happy and had high energy when I picked him up. Upon arrival he was greeted and I could tell the woman was trying to make Chase feel comfortable. I am very pleased with his haircut and bath. I really liked the space they had him in when I picked him up. He was in a spacious open gated crate which I appreciate much more than groomers who cage the dogs. He was in and out within 90 minutes. I will definitely use this business again in my rotation for keeping my fur baby clean and handsome as ever!

Minus one star because they text instead of calling when your dog is ready, it would be great if they do both. Minus another star because my dog still had build up eye boogers and still smell like dog when picking him up. For all that it's worth the groomer is very nice but I was hoping for my dog to smell amazing and no eye boogers. read more

Buddha has been going to Sammy for years now. We have NEVER had a less than Fabulous experience. Sammy is so sweet and gentle with Buddha and her hair cuts are always on point. Ever since our paths crossed I have never given it a second thought to take Buddha anywhere else but with Sammy! I especially love knowing Buddha is not caged for long periods of time. The previous groomer we used would leave Buddha in a cage for hours before and after his grooming. At Ponos pooch spa Buddha gets a play date after his spa time before pick up. I could continue raving about how great this place is but I honestly recommend you make an appointment and see for yourself!!!! read more

Amazing place!! My dog whiskey stopped by on Monday and they gave him the best "hair" cut of his life time! The location is in a small plaza/mall and when I visited there were plenty of parking spaces to choose. They also have doggie day care so be sure to drop off your fur babies if you work long hours! read more

I absolutely love and trust this place. It's the only place I will ever take my dog daisy. She gets anxious and scared so easily due to her past, but they always go the extra mile here to ensure she feels loved and safe. If you're looking for somewhere to trust with your best friends, this is the place. Their customer service is incredible and they are so kind. They also take the cutest pictures of you dogs after! I'm so glad our old friends from Total Pet Care were able to open a new place. They've just been open for a few days, but I have already taken my pup for a trim. They always take such good care of our dogs & once again, they did an excellent job. They were so fast too! In and out in less than an hour and he was so super soft & handsome. My little Teddy is a diabetic dog who recently lost his sight and I was nervous to leave him at a groomers. After searching high and low I found Pono's Pooch Spa. From our very first point of contact I could tell that this place was going to be amazing! Teddy was treated so well and his cut was beautiful! Exactly what I asked for. My mom received her dog yesterday in really bad conditions. The groomer I take my dog is closed on Sunday's. We needed service right away and was able to schedule an appointment same day. Pono's Pooch Spa is amazing she mention she had to cut very short due to his hair condition. She exceeded my expectations she was able to save his hair and did an amazing job he so handsome. She so sweet and talented the price was reasonable I was expecting a higher charge. I am extremely happy with the results. Definitely recommend Pono's Pooch Spa you won't be disappointed. I took my 10 month old Puppy to Pono's after researching a couple pet salons. I choose them because they were great at communicating back. So glad I found Pono's. It is the cutest little boutique shop. Everything looks completely renovated. My dog was excited to stay for her grooming, it was her first time being groomed in general yesterday, I would highly recommend this Spa for your dogs, they were prompt and very affordable. I was afraid to take my dog just anywhere in addition Jack gets car sick the minute we start to drive so it had to be close. I used to take my dogs to a place in Gardena but even that was too far. This place is 7 min away. They text me I made an appointment. I was amazed as to how many days they are open! I work 5 days a week until six its nice to know I have place to take him when I'm off. Their business is clean and tidy. They are friendly and pricing is good! My pooch looks fantastic and groomed how I asked for! I recommend it! read more

I love how Sammy take care of my two pups. She always knows what type a haircut and shave body type for my dog. She also makes my pups feel pampered and comfortable. After picking up my two pups from this groomers, I always leave this grooming spa happy based on the results I received from all the hard she does. I will always comes back to this place. This place is well-decorated and well-structured. This grooming can be small, but Sammy can welcome pet owner and their pet with open arms. I really enjoy watching all the photographies from their Instagram page and their story showing the pets getting pampered. read more

I love Sammy! Unfortunately due to COVID my previous groomer stopped working leaving me to find someone new for my Sadie. Sadie is a rescue and due to not being in a good environment she was fearful of grooming. I had found someone Sadie learned to loved so I was heartbroken and scrambling to find someone new. Upon recommendation, I was told of Ponos Pooch spa and made an appointment. When I met Sammy I expressed my concerns of how scared Sadie would be but reassured me she would be okay. Now Sadie loves going there and is always treated with such care. Her skin and coat is starting to glow again and I can't thank her enough for allowing this transition to be easy for Sadie. read more

I was so glad to know that Pono's Pooch Spa was opening so soon after TPC closed down. Sae M. Has many years of experience as a dog groomer for all types of breeds and always takes such good care of my dog Rusty. As soon as you walk in the door, we are received with warm smiles and so much love, you can tell that at Pono's the dogs are truly like family. Rusty always leaves happy and loves his bath time, not to mention soo soft! Their prices are very affordable and I love that it doesn't smell like 'dog' when you walk in. I have to say I absolutely love this grooming salon! Sammy and her husband are the sweetest, and most trust worthy grooming people I have ever met. Although my pup Oreo is not a fan at all of getting groomed they are always so sweet with him. Oreo always leaves looking and smelling amazing! Super communicative, so nice, &' sweet to my pup what else could you ask for!? They're pricing is fair and slightly cheaper than petco. I always love supporting local businesses. My poor frenchie baby needed a bath desperately and Yelp saved the day as usual! I called Pomp's and there was no answer. Not even a minute later I got a call back (love it!). I spoke with Sammy who was the most pleasant person over the phone. I asked for availability for this week, which she provided and I asked if I could text her after checking my son's work schedule. She said not a problem. Few hours later I had my appointment booked! Today was my baby's appointment and my son said he really liked Pono's. It was clean and the staff was very nice and most importantly our baby Benji was happy and clean! Thank you Sammy for taking care of my frenchie baby. We will be back next month! read more

If you are reading through Ponos reviews, noticing they are all 5 stars and wondering if the service is really that great? Well let me tell you, YES! Sammy and Josh are so great at what they do. We've been taking our pup there for almost a year now and every time he looks so cute after his haircut. We recently got another little fur baby who we've been taking there and the results are the same. Not only do they look adorable after their grooming but we've noticed that even their fur grows in slot nicer since we started going there. Sammy and Josh just have a love for your pups that you can feel when dropping them off giving you peace of mind leaving them there. Clients for life. read more

So I took my dog for his grooming appointment today and when I pick him up I was on my phone with my doctor and could not hung up at the moment, I apologize to the receptionist at the time and commence to pay after I payed, I stepped out side not to be rude to talk , when asked shortly after for my recipe the husband of the receptionist was being very aggressive and rude slamming doors and closing up, after 10min I knocked on the door and the man there came out very upset, I asked nicely if I can have my receipt the man started accusing me of being disrespectful to the receptionist out of nowhere and that he would email it to me, fyi they don't even have my email..so how could they?? Then he when on a rant about that the receptionist was his wife and was pregnant, and started to Wana fight me, iam a paying customer. Idk if this guy was havening a bad day with his wife and decided to take it out on me. But I wouldn't take my dog there ever again my dog looked scared from all the yelling he was doing, and I don't recommend anyone else to take there dog there if they are treating customer like this I can imagine how they might treat other people dogs while your away cuz I definitely know how they treat people, This place deserve zero stars. And I hope to God you will listen to my review.. DONT GO THERE!!! read more

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan Traveled the world and ended up in LA, Hawthorne to be exact. Passion for life and all animals made who I am today. This is my first shop but Ive been grooming dogs since 2016.

That honesty gave us a great deal of confidence that Harper's well-being was always the priority. Our sitter, Lindsay, was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, caring, and clearly took the time to get to know Harper rather than simply stopping by to complete a checklist. The updates after each visit were one of our favorite parts of the service. We received thoughtful notes and videos by text after every visit. We especially appreciated that everything came through text rather than requiring a separate app. The communication was outstanding and gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. We genuinely looked forward to Lindsay's notes and videos after each visit. Her thoughtful updates let us follow Harper's progress throughout our trip, and it was wonderful to see him become more and more comfortable with her. After the call, I completed an Intake form with all of Maverick's information which included his veterinarian details and copy of his vaccine records. The process was so organized and reassuring. Before the actual sitting day, we set up a meet-and-greet with Andrew and Stephanie so we could see where Maverick would be staying and get to know them both. Their space was great and it was clear they're a team who truly cares about the pets they host. On the day of the sit, we received many picture and video updates throughout Maverick's time with them. They took him on multiple walks which helped alleviate some of his anxious tendencies. This gave us so much peace of mind. He was tired out by the time we got home! Stephanie and Andrew were incredibly accommodating, detailed and easy to work with. We were grateful they were able to squeeze us in on such short notice! Payment was simple and convenient. They offer multiple payment options and I was able to pay with Zelle with no problem. The frustration you have left me in a state of stress and panic all because you felt uncomfortable about a landlord being on the property attending his building maintenance and as he asked you who he was you failed to mention to him you are a pet sitter. Which I specifically told you to let other others know that your pet sitter because you're in the grass area if you happen to run into anybody. You didn't tell me about all of this until after the fact, and I could've called my landlord within seconds to let him know you're a pet sitter simple! And this is what I mean that it's very unprofessional and you don't know how to manage any challenges that come your way.
