Came on NYE and had booked way in advance. They were very communicative and sent instructions due to the police checks and gate closures. This was a pre paid set menu where you choose the main and can order a drink package if you like. They gave us several appetizers which were all very good and enjoyable. Several choices for mains too. Parents had cod and duck and I had the sirloin. Medium rare was requested and it was definitely more rare and a bit too chewy in some parts. The dessert was pretty good with homemade ice cream and a truffle. Convenient location, attentive staff, and was an easy chill vibe for NYE in Sydney. We ate early and made it back to watch all the fireworks!

Pony was one of my favorite restaurants I went to in Sydney Australia, so delicious. We did the tasting menu and everything was incredible, from the cocktails to the apps, and dessert. The ambiance of the restaurant is dark and moody. The waiter was thorough and explained the menu to us well. I would recommend this to anyone traveling the Sydney, versatile menu with something for everyone!

Good but I reckon Dinner is more there strong suit than lunch. Lovey and many styles of seating, we sat outside and some high top chairs have backs, good for us over 50! We loved the friendly service and the prawn toast! The pasta with meatballs was nice but tasted like Indian spices, maybe fenugreek in the meatballs? Fish and Chips was really nice with Flathead in a crispy batter. The "chips" aka French Fries ala Maccas were listless and pale.

My dinner at Pony was the best meal I had during my week-long stay in Sydney. The kangaroo skewers were so tasty, I went back the next night to eat them again! The black pepper sauce, grilled onions, and raspberries came together beautifully to enrich the flavor and textural profile of the lean and mild kangaroo meat. As a solo diner, I did not make reservations on either night, but the team here was gracious and cordial, and I was seated promptly. The indoor and outdoor spaces are utilized efficiently such that seating capacity is optimized without the overcrowded feel.

A bit expensive in my opinion. We sat on the patio and it felt crowded and chaotic with servers and customers arriving. There is no scenic view so indoors would likely be more comfortable.

Awesome spot for cocktails and steak, oysters and just craft food. Service was really amazing.

Great service, a little bit awkward seating. No bar area to grab a stool, but food was excellent.

Located in the popular "The Rocks" tourist area, it is full of charm and staffed by the friendliest folks you'll meet in Sydney. You felt happy just walking by the place. It was full of energy and bustle. We ate there twice, once for breakfast and, since we liked it so much, went back for dinner. Both were outstanding. Service was great. For dinner, I was just in the mood for a simple Burrata Salad and a Spaghetti Bolognaise. Now, the Rocks is not an Italian place, but their versions of these dishes were among the best I've ever had. My partner had the fish and chips, and raved about that too. If you can prepare such simple dishes so beautifully, I can imagine how good the other items on the menu must be. When we left, the woman I imagined to be an owner gave us a wonderful thank you and farewell. THIS is the way to run a small tourist spot!

Inside wasn't bad, the table was big and the chairs comfortable. We were waited on immediately. Servers fly around like dancers, it's actually pretty impressive. Our food arrived in no time. My wife had fish and chips and I had lamb and rosemary pie. She enjoyed her meal. Mine was different than I've had before. It was still ok but I wouldn't order it again. Others would probably like it, it just wasn't for me. We didn't have any dessert but as you walk in the door they have some wonderful looking pies and cakes. Do yourself a favor and save room for one of those. I messed up and didn't try something. This is actually a really cool restaurant that I would like to try again. I wouldn't let one dish that didn't hit my taste buds keep me away.

Our hotel's concierge suggested we look into breakfast eateries or a bakery at nearby Barangaroo wharf and pointed us two blocks down on Sussex Street, where we stumbled upon Wild Sage. Walking up to their patio dining area, we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a choice between patio and indoor seating and provided menus. We chose to dine outdoors to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather and cool yet comfortable temperature. After being seated, the young man, brought us glasses of chilled water while we waited for the server to take our morning beverage and breakfast orders. Our cheery server, Marissa, came by shortly after delivering another table's order and we were ready to order right away. FOOD & BEVERAGE: -Sticky Chai Tea: I requested the chai tea as its blend of natural spices with soy milk appealed to me on this slightly chilly morning. As I poured the steamy steeping hot chai tea through the strainer into the glass, its full aromas wafted towards me as I "aerated" or pulled the tea. $8.50 AUD -Proscuitto Toastie: Triple cheese (Gruyere, mozzarella, & scamorza), sliced proscuitto, truffle bechamel, & pickles on soy linseedsourdough. Although we're slightly lactose-intolerant, my husband decided to order this "upscale" ham and cheese sandwich. It was so rich in flavors and textures that he could only eat half the portion even though he was tempted to finish both sandwich halves. Notably, the toasted sourdough's crisp, crunchy, exterior and warm chewy interior tasted of caramelization and nuttiness. Its tangy sourness offered a savory balance to the creamy, slightly nutty and sweet scamorza and mozzarella cheeses. The creamy cheeses balanced the savory saltiness from the proscuitto and Gruyere. $24 AUD -Truffle Mushroom Toast: I selected this open faced toasted sourdough sandwich which was generously topped with roasted mixed mushrooms, confit garlic and truffle butter, thyme, goat cheese, crispy leeks, and poached eggs. The roasted mixed mushrooms flavors were enhanced "just right" with the truffle butter without being overpowered. This vegetarian sandwich was protein-packed, filling, and very flavorful. $26 AUD We took our time over breakfast while discussing our Sydney exploration plans at this clean, bright, and friendly cafe. It's too bad we didn't have more time in Sydney to return for more but, isn't that the dilemma while traveling? "Too many restaurants, too little time."

They close at 3:00pm and the kitchen closes early so make sure you get there before then! Came back the following day for breakfast and got myself Mango Coconut Chia Pod. I love the puffed rice granola combined with all the colors of the seasonal fruits :) As for my drink, the strawberry matcha was meh, nothing great-- wish there was more strawberry puree ratio to it though. And I should have skipped the whipped cream on it if I read the menu closely. But the iced drink definitely helped with the summer heat!

This was the most highly rated restaurant in Surry Hills, and it exceeded all expectations. I cannot say enough great things about the duck slow cooked in plum sauce. It was perfectly seasoned with a bright, sweet plum glaze-- the meat was so tender that it fell off the bone. This was hands down the most delicious duck dish I have ever eaten. We enjoyed a handful of their appetizers (oyster shooters, mini pancakes with crème fresh, etc), all of which were incredible. Very grateful to our waiter for being so helpful with menu suggestions and accommodating one of the guests with a more complicated food palette. The ambience inside was intimate with low warm lightly. The music was classy and not too loud. Such a beautiful and memorable space.
