Okay, this is going to sound extremely petty because it is. Went to get my car washed and only had ten bucks in cash. Told the guy just give me the 9 dollar wash. He tries to up sell me the 15 dollar wash. Explained I only had a ten so the 9 was going to have to be it. He takes my ten and walks off. Yes, it's a buck and I most likely would have tipped him anyway, but the fact he just decided to not even ask if I wanted change annoyed me. I basically paid him to take my money because he didn't even bother to spray down my car as they normally do. This is not my typical experience with these guys so maybe the boss needs to do a better check of who he hires. Most of the guys are as friendly as can be. read more

I've be a loyal customer for about six years now and today I was absolutely blown away at the pure laziness put forth I paid for the works car wash(12$) and he only sprayed on side of my car didn't use the scrubby brush on any parts of my vehicle then when I pulled thru they didn't come shine my wheels which is included in the wash I began to dry my mirrors realizing dirt and grim was still all over the car very disappointed with you today pony express what's the point of raising your prices if your not willing to put forth the better effort read more

I live right up the road from Pony Express and it's a great car wash for me. As a mother of 3 young children the speed and convenience of this car wash is a great advantage. It's fast and I don't have to take the kids out of the car. I've been happy with the Supreme wash, regular wash, and always had nice service. I've used their interior detail service twice. Just this week I had an interior cleaning and while my car is less than two years old, I mentioned I have 3 children and the seats just get dirty after awhile. They spent two hours making sure that they got out every spot. I was told that some of the discoloration might not come out (I have very light interior) but it did so I was happy for that. They charged me $50 and I got two washes included with that price. I really appreciated the time they took to do a great job. Thanks for helping me keep my car clean! PS. If you purchase an extra service, like a detail cleaning they may tell you it will take an hour, but it will likely take longer because the same employee(s) who do the detail service have to stop in between to finish up cars who asked for Supreme wash. I absolutely love having Pony Express nearby in Lakeside. Every time I go, everyone, especially Sonny, is thoughtful to remove my antenna and put it back. They take their time to thoroughly hand dry my truck which takes some time as I have a full size truck. They even get into the back of the truck to wash my back window and dry off the roof. They do not treat you like a number but rather they take a genuine interest in making sure your vehicle is clean and ready to hit the road looking great. Arguement is all I got. The car had very light rain scum. Paid for top wash and after their half assed wipe down car was still dirty. All the olde guy wanted to do was say where you going to get this quality service for $11.00 and argue about their carwash quality. Very bad attitude... My husband got a "deal" for an interior detail. Supposedly, the original price was $120 or so and he got it for $60. My car was pretty dirty (I have 2 young kids) and needed a good detailing. When I came back after an hour, after it was finished, I was a little disappointed with their job. The side compartments on the back seat were completely neglected - there was dirt still sticking all over the side. I know it wasn't an issue of not being able to get it out because when we pointed it out to the man who cleaned it, he immediately cleaned it and it was fine. So he overlooked that. There were still a good number of stains on my seats as well. When I looked at how the man was cleaning it, GO FIGURE. He was using a washcloth and whatever in his spray bottle. Whenever I've gotten my car detailed before, I'm used to a shampooer, but not someone cleaning it by hand. I just don't think that works great for deep, set-in stains. There were greasy areas that looks like it wasn't rubbed in enough on my dash and on the middle console. My car just didn't feel that clean and I'm bummed that we wasted $60 on something I feel like my husband could've done. Oh well. I brought my car just for a car wash and after purchasing the extras and being talked into a premium car wash I was also talked into purchasing a detail which was much needed. I didn't have time right away but was told bring my car back anytime. 2 weeks later I come receipt in hand to recieve my detail after being looked at like I was crazy for waiting so long (I called 2 days before coming to confirm) and them being apprehensive, I mentioned that I already confirmed they would do my interior they went ahead took my phone number down said 2 hours tops I would get a call when my car was done. 4 hours pass..no call. I finally go to the place and no one acknowledged me as I just walk up take my key and get in my car..(that's a measure for safety right?) I ask why didn't I get a call to let me know it was done they say oh the morning ppl had your car I guess they got too busy. Finally I get my car home and the car doesn't look like it's been cleaned at all! Great car wash. I got the Supreme wash for $15. Good price for everything they have in the drive-thru car wash. Also, EXTRA PROPS to the crew there. I showed up with dried egg on my car which had been there for a few days, and they took the time to spray it down and scrub it all of clean. Thankfully the egg hadn't damaged my paint yet. Very appreciative of the extra time and care for my situation! I will definitely be going back for more services including detailing. I was impressed. read more

So, it's an average machine wash you could get discounted at many gas stations. It's cheap, but I would still pass and go elsewhere- no towel dry means lots of spotting, there were still dirty spots on my car, and after an unexpected shower I learned that they will not rewash for rain in the first 24 hours like other local car washes do. Maybe good for the occasional quick wash when you are in a pinch. read more

Update regarding supervisors (Jorge) disrespectful demeanor towards me about overcharge. After dealing with this "womanizer" i was so incredibly upset that when I told my husband when he got home from work about how I was treated, he suggested we go down there and confront the management team. This is no longer about the $2 overcharge, this is about a woman being spoke down to and disrespected by a man in a position of management. So when we arrived we were approached by "Tom" a nice looking employee who seemed very eager to greet us. Now, my husband took over the situation and spoke with Tom about what had happened. I was informed by my husband that Tom was incredibly apologetic about Jorge's behavior and assured him that is not the type of attitude their establishment is about. The first thing Tom did was say he was going to call "Valente" the manager and let him know what had happened. Meanwhile about 2 customers needed service and Tom handled their needs without disrespecting the other paying customers as Jorge did to me. We expected to either receive the $2 refund which to us appeared fair or to be given some rebate form to fill out. Tom informed us that Valente approved a free premium car wash voucher for me. Thank you Tom for being respectful, compassionate, understanding, forthcoming, attentive, polite and also for exuding customer service skills that match the same quality I give to my customers on a daily basis. Tom should be running that place, not Jorge. I'm just saying. And thank you Valente for the free car wash. I look forward to the opportunity to use my voucher soon. This car wash is awesome!!! The service is great and you can't find a better value. I have been going to Pony Express since 2008 and I have always had a great experience. My kids love going thru the tunnel and I love the fact that I can get a great wash for a low cost in 5 to 10 minutes and the kids stay in the car. The vacuums are free and very powerful. They have at least 12 stalls which is more than any other wash I've been to in San Diego. The supreme wash comes with tire shine- hand applied and a wipe down in addition to RainX and the rainbow foam. IT's easy to get in and out and in the heart of town. Can't get more convenient than that. 5 stars all the way!!! read more

So sorry. I was excited about the potential of a nice car wash in Lakeside, but after 3 tries, I have to say I won't be back. First the car wash tore off my license plate. I went back, and they dug through a LARGE box of plates, but mine wasn't in there, so off to the DMV for a $25 expense (and a long wait). That makes a $5-$10 car wash a bad value. Next time I went, the guy never gave me my change on an upgraded wash (tacky way of self-tipping). I will say I had a couple of good trips, but alas, the car wash snapped off my antennea last drive through. Don't know the cost of this repair, and I'm stuck listening to CD's only. They went above and beyond what they needed to do and i'm definitely going back in 6 months to get it re-waxed and i'll be back soon to get the interior done. This place is awful. The car wash does a poor job. I do not recommend ever upgrading for hand drying because the workers do a poor job. Some of the staff are rude or unpleasant. The only good thing about this place is the free vacuum, which you must use yourself. I left this place with a bad taste in my mouth. read more
