I can't believe Pony Express isn't on Yelp. Pony Express was present with their petting zoo at the last Yelp social, Cirque du Yelp. They were the highlight of my evening. If there was a Yelp event with only this petting zoo, I would go. Forget the food trucks, free booze, and dj'ed rooms, I want the petting zoo. Pony Express had sheep, goats, a llama, an alpaca, a camel, a donkey, a calf, a duck, a rabbit, chickens. I petted them all, held a chicken who hooked my lip during its escape, tried to bait the llama (it showed disdain), inadvertently hit on a girl while talking to the camel, and took lots of picture. My party experience that night began and ended with the petting zoo in both reality and verbal recounts. This place is great! read more

I absolutely LOVED my experience with Pony Express Pony Rides and HIGHLY recommend them for any of your pony party needs! I had a pony/unicorn come out for my daughter's surprise 3rd birthday and it was the BEST and most MAGICAL time! Nicole was great! She put up with my incessant emailing and was very accommodating to my vision for the day! She was so nice and willing to converse as we walked around the yard and stopping to pose with her pony Magnolia! Magnolia made a perfect unicorn! She was very mild mannered, calm, and sweet! The prices are AFFORDABLE for an AMAZING service! I couldn't have asked for a better time! If ever I desire another pony experience, they will be my go to! This was a terrible company to work with. They are not very good communicators, from the beginning sales stage to the onsite event execution. We recently held an event and they were an hour late, showing up just as our 250 guests were arriving. Joseph was extremely rude and didn't seem to treat his staff or the animals very well. Look elsewhere if you are planning to have a petting zoo or any animals at your party. Very disappointed. read more

We had a great experience with Joseph and Pony Express. They brought brought 4 ponys/horses - two to ride and two to pet and walk. Perfect experience for 3-10yrs old kids. Great 3yr B-Day party with cousins and friends. read more

Two stars...the folks I interacted with were never friendly and Nicole was downright rude. She went to the wrong address, got upset at me about it, and then literally unloaded the animals and two people (one of whom was a child) in the road to walk to our home. Nicole, who was driving, didn't even say hello. The animals and "staff" were fine, though the young girl who was with them said she didn't know the donkey's name as they had "thousands of animals." I wish I had done more research before, especially since it wasn't cheap. read more

Pony Express was at the Yelp Event in May. The animals were so cute! especially the baby donkeys and goats. It is a great addition to a kids party. read more

I now know why Pony Express Pony Rides and Petting Zoo DOESN'T have a Yelp account. I've used them on an annual basis for a large party that I cohost. Joseph was always great to work with, but Nicole has zero customer service skills. I would not recommend this company. Instead, use one of the other companies that can be found on Google or Yelp, like Noah's Ark or Little Angels Pony and Pals. read more

HORRIBLE!! Do NOT use! I booked them months in advance for my daughters b-day. I payed full up front months in advance and called 48 hours ahead of time to verify my order. They showed up late and without the "unicorn" outfits. They made horns out of folded fabric and tape in the back of their car. They left when we went inside to open presents even though we had not gotten our hour and a half yet (because it took them 45 minutes to make the horns after being a half hour late). Almost a dozen of my guests commented that one of the 2 women there were incredibly rude to the kids and adults which I believe because she was rude to me. I emailed asking for a partial refund and she flat out told me no. DO NOT hire these people. There are others out there with actual ethical business practices. read more

STAY AWAY!!! (I wish I could rate 0 stars) We had a birthday party with this company and it was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! 1. MISREPRESENTATION The "party area," was just their barn, which would normally be ok, but it had feces covered farming tools laying about the area, months old animal dung all over the floor and no attempt at all to clean before a children's birthday party. (yes, it's a farm so dirt is expected but this was filthy, and unsafe). 2. Extremly DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN! Screws sticking out of wood at toddler eye level in high traffic areas in the "petting area." Heating coils sitting next to electrical outlets in the petting area with no staff attending. Farming tools covered in feces and rust laying all over the property. 3. The tables and chars in the party area were FILTHY, covered in hay dirt and feces. No attempt at all was made to make it healthy for children to eat in the area. It is a good thing we brought our own table cloths and cleaned the area ourselves. 4. The owner was RUDE. When we couldn't find their property (it was unmarked and GPS couldn't direct us) we called the owner and she was insulting and rude to us. 5. terrible equestrian ETHICS. One horse was very scared around the children and the owner didn't care to remove it from the area even though it was hurting itself and dangerous to the children. 6. Even our friends who grew up on farms were disgusted at the state of the facility. There is "farm dirty," and there is filthy and unsafe. This place wasn't just "farm dirty." Do not go here, plan a party with someone else and do a site visit!!! read more

If you think you may have an interest in hosting a birthday party at pony express, be sure to make a visit first. The pictures may look great on the website but you will be surprised once you arrive. Yes, it is a farm and the animals are fun for the kids but that is where it ends. It is definitely not worth the amount of cash you will dish out. Most birthday venues that charge this kind of money at least provide a party host, clean table/chairs to eat on, and a little guidance or organization. You are on your own here. Plan on bringing something to wash the table off and all your own party goods, even a trash bag because no one will be there to help you make this a party atmosphere. read more

I went home and cried after seeing a camel at a festival from this petting zoo that was obviously in misery. He/she was constantly bobbing back and forth and "crying". The handler was holding a rope the camel was attached to in order to keep it from bobbing and swaying. The poor thing looked miserable. The camel looked skinny and sickly. It was so sad. People at the festival said the camel was "freaking out". It obviously was very uncomfortable in that situation. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! I can't believe what I just experienced. IT WAS HORRIBLE! We were invited to a birthday party at the farm and we were disgusted by what we found, when we finally found it of course. There was no sign or street number to tell us where it was, i just happened to see a friends car pull in so i followed. It was extremely unprofessional. They had absolutely no place for parties even though it is advertised on the website. They thru up a table that looked like it had been laying on the barn floor and had feces all over it in the barn on an unswept floor. Then they put a couple of chairs around it that we found out must have belonged to the goats because they too were covered in dirt and feces and the goats kept pushing the kids out of their chairs to get up on the table and eat the kids food, hair, clothes, presents, whatever they could find. There was nobody really around to help us out except for a couple of teenage girls who were just roaming around, so we were left to fight off all of these roaming animals ourselves. I understand that this is what life on a farm may be like, but you dont advertise for parties if you dont have the right provisions to do so. One thing that really upset me was the tools and and equipment that were laying around that were covered in dirt and feces and not removed from the "party area" or even put somewhere out of harms way from the children. There was also a scared horse that was tied up just outside of the barn and we had to make sure there was always a parent right there so no kids got hurt by it. There was no restroom facility for the children only a personal bathroom in the main house which was very uncomfortable to go into when my 4 yr old needed to go. And there of course was no way to clean hands for eating cupcakes at the party. I have also seen the website and can tell you that from my experience it has to be false advertising because none of the pictures that I saw were what I experienced today. Very disappointed! Please do not book any parties at this place. Definitely check it out before booking if you do. You will be highly disappointed!!!!!! read more
