Since the owners change I find myself using more and more of their services. Very friendly and efficient with a personal touch. I started using their mailbox services and ended up using some delivery, notary and photos in addition the mailbox... 2-12-2011 I had a UPS quote through Pony Express for $156 to ship a 19"x19"x26" box weighing 28 pounds to Texas. I said no that sounded like to much. Service is good, not much to complain about since it's a small business with two people. They get the work done. The review is to tell everyone how great the business is. They have UPS, FEDEX, Notary, and a copy machine (free of cost). Yes, Kinko's serves this same purpose, but there's something about small businesses that I like. According to my colleague, this location has been around for ages. For someone who was in a rush, my experience was amazing and definitely saved my time. read more

I love this Pony Express. They are always friendly, know who I am, and even have my packages waiting for me at the counter when they see me walk to my mailbox. I've never used any of their other services other than their mailbox, but I am quite pleased with the service I get. read more

I love this place. I've only been twice, but both times the staff were friendly and helpful. They have cartoons on and lollipops, making the postal experience with kids in tow MUCH easier. Genius! I went in for Passport photos. They are incredibly quick and efficient. The women were so sweet. Michael, who took my photo was very curt with me. Not impolite but I'm not used to having my friendliness shot down as if I were a troublesome child. "If you follow the procedure, I can take your photo" he said curtly when I expressed my surprise that you can't smile in a passport photo. His words are very polite. I was called "Ma'am," and he thanked me. Just didn't appreciate his "Can we get on with this??" attitude. Still, it's a 4-star business in my opinion. read more

I have used various UPS Stores (and Mailboxes Etc.) for over 10 years, and I haven't ever had as great of an experience as having a mailbox at Pony Express. Every time I have been in there Mike greets me by name, and goes to grab my mail before I can even get to my box, and does the same for other customers I've noticed. This is quite a different experience from UPS Stores, where I have always just been another box number or even sometimes treated rudely. They provide all kinds of services that you wouldn't expect too, like converting old videotape into DVD and custom trophies. I would definitely recommended this place to anyone in the Redmond area who is looking for a locally-owned, customer service oriented mailbox place, and not just another chain store. For the last couple of years we've used Pony Express for all sorts of things - overseas shipping; domestic shipping; passport and visa photos and have always had a great experience. Pricing seems to be the same as offered anywhere and for the convenience of location, hours and simple no-nonsense competence it's an easy choice. read more

I have been using this location to drop amazon packages ( for returns) for the past year but today I wanted to drop a package but didn't have tape to seal the Amazon box. I asked if I could take some tape and they asked me to give 50 cents to use their tape!! Really to use a piece of tape I need to give 50 cents? I didn't have 50 cents on me and gave 25 cents but they told me next time I need to give 50cents to use their tape. Wow never going back to them. Additionally the owner is pretty loud to kids and literally shouted at my daughter for touching their coffee machine. There is a polite way to say and harsh way to talk and he somehow always uses the harsh way to talk to kids. Happened twice now. read more

I was researching places to drop a package off in Redmond, and came across this yelp page. After reading some reviews I am baffled that the owner responds to bad reviews with snarky responses. Let me first start by saying that I have NEVER written a bad review before, but the distaste that still lingers from my experience today warrants the effort. I came in today with what I thought was a simple request; I needed to add additional postage to my already metered mail. The guy working there, I assume the owner, reacted as if I had asked to ship a baby. He was dismissive, told me to go elsewhere, and that he couldn't help me. He made me feel as if I was asking him to do something illegal. I don't know, perhaps adding a 50 cent stamp to already metered mail is illegal. I had put a lot of effort researching a place to bring my two packages, one that had good reviews, and was close to Microsoft, so I would not have to go all the way to the Post Office on my 30 minute break between meetings. Frankly, I would have rather gone all the way to the Post Office, waited in a three hour line and talked to a grumpy postal worker, who was at least helpful, than talk to this guy. I can with all honesty say that he wins the prize for the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. That is saying a lot. The only good thing about my experience today was that afterwards I was able to at least go and eat a gluten-free cookie next door at my favorite bakery; Flying Apron. read more

If you need a passport/visa/ID photo taken to non-US specifications, this is the place to go. I needed a few photos taken for a Japanese visa and alien registration card and had been stressing out about where to have them taken. The staff at Pony Express were super friendly and made me feel at ease, despite obviously being very busy. The price on the photos was totally reasonable, the staff really seemed to know their stuff, and we even chatted a little bit once they lobby had cleared out a bit. If the experience with something as relatively complex as passport photos went so smoothly, I can only imagine how quick and easy it must be to use these guys' shipping services! I have also had documents notarized at the same location, and had a great experience. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Pony Express is a community & people-minded business. My small business has benefited by having a "street mailing address" for a very affordable price. I believe I am getting more than my moneys-worth in services. Pathetic service with very bad professional manners. I needed passport photos for very specific requirement, went and the guy just took the photos and was in a hurry to finish up the task instead of making sure that the work is done according to specifications. He never looked interested in providing a professional service but rather behaved like know all and screwed up the photos in the end. Also there is always an excuse that I was correct and you should have informed about the extra specifications. The charges are very high even compared to professional service and quality is too amateurish to even come back there. Will prefer to drive an hour to find an alternative than to go back there.. read more

Needed 4 credit card sized laminated cards. They clearly said they do that and gave me their store card as an example of the exact size that I was presumably supposed to see. Turns out they just laminate a bigger size and then cut by hand. As a result got 4 randomly shaped cards with crooked edges none of them even remotely resembling a credit card. Not only they are not using preset laminate sizes, they even did not bother to use paper trimmer to make proper size and proper edges. So, I asked for scissors and, while still there, I was cutting edges wherever possible to at least make straight edges - and they just were watching and smiling while I was doing their job. I then found that UPS store across the street makes laminated cards with preset sizes - wish I knew that before I came to this place. read more

Mike Ahn at Pony Express in Redmond WA may just be the most ethical businessman I've ever met. The other day I fell for a paypal scam, and tried to ship an expensive package to Nigeria. Mike smelled at rat, cautioned me, and then he flatly refused to send the package. He was totally right, I had been scammed. He saved more more than $1000. What a nice person! Mike who owns and runs this Pony Express has been great (the previous bad reviews are from the previous owners). When we moved back to Redmond from California, Mike helped my wife set up her PO Box remotely so she wouldn't miss any mail during the move. They are great about emailing whenever we get mail so that we don't have to call them and bug them every day. Plus, I noticed that they even stayed open extra hours during the Christmas crunch. I've even started mailing stuff when them to avoid having to go to the post office around the corner (even though it costs a bit more). read more

This Pony Express is as good as it gets. Their service is fast, friendly, and outstanding. They have everything here, notary, photos for passports, they have made DVDs from old VCR and video camera tapes, and they are always kind enough to help me wrap things up for shipping since I am disabled. Of course there is a small mark-up on shipping, they aren't the post office. They are a private business, and they have employees to pay, rent, electricity, etc. But their friendliness and kindness, and all of the things they offer make it well worth while to pay the little extra. I've never had to stand in 10 person lines like the post office either, they are busy but fast, but never so busy that you feel like a number and not a person. Owners make promises but don't follow up as promised. If you need reliable services not the place to gamble on. If you have important business to take care of not the place for you. If you need a place to get magazines or just unimportant mail then it would probably be okay but if you run a business then no. Tired of the stink eye from owner.
