This place is just incredibly mid. The breadsticks were just dough with some garlic on it. Stopped eating them after a few and just threw them out. The pizza is ok if you like a doughier crust. The ingredients taste fresh and you can taste some of the herbs they use in the sauce which is nice. I would get it again since food options are limited but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone . Service was fine, seems they'd prefer if you order ahead . We were traveling and didnt know that. They seemed almost annoyed that we wanted to order to go without placing a take out order ahead of time. Pizza took about 25-30 minutes which is perfectly fine but just something to note. Ponzetti's, what has happened to you? I got the worst pizza yesterday that I have ever had. They clearly burned the pizza and then served it. We were so tired after my driving all day and my husband working outside in the heat, and I didn't want to embarrass my daughter but I should have said something. I wish I had that $37 back, it was a big waste of time and money. I could barely choke down a piece. Also, the place is filthy. Really the health department should pay them a visit. They used to have great pizza here but those days are over. And no one else was there, there were 2 or 3 cooks back there and they serve us a decent pizza. Very disappointed. read more

What can I say? I was wanting pizza. Spur of the moment I stopped in. It had thin crust--good. I ordered pepperoni, mushrooms, & olives. And a small drink to go with my small pizza. New York girl here, we're always on the out look for a good pizza and this cheese pizza did not disappoint. The crust had a nice little air bubbles in it. The cheese was fresh and the sauce had actual taste to it. We tend to find here in Maryland, the sauce doesn't usually have much seasoning in it . They are not telling you they had to close due to covid!!! If you bought food there while a young man worked there be careful he was the spreader. This is the best place around here to get pizza,subs, and wings. I grew up with them and absolutely adore them still. Their hot wings and philly cheese steak subs are my absolute favorites to get. If you're not sure what to get here i recommend: a philly cheese steak with everything on it extra hot peppers extra oil and vinegar. I ordered four large pizzas Pepperoni, Cheese, Vegetable, and white pizza for work luncheon $65.00 Hoping four different types of pizza would make everyone's palate happy. We all agreed that they are best at making cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza only!!! REPEAT ONLY CHEESE AND PEPPERONI. The white and vegetable pizza had plenty of leftovers and no one wanted to take home to their families. WOW We couldn't even give the pizza away! The white pizza was dry and bland. No flavor. The Vegetable pizza tasted of frozen broccoli and canned mushrooms. This was not the fresh vegetable pizza I had envisioned. The sauce is sweet and tastes like industrial canned tomato sauce/sludge with sugar added. The tell tale sign of cheap cheese being used was the amount of pizza grease pouring out with each bite. I folded the pizza in half and squeezed the grease out. The crust is thin and has a slightly burnt crust taste. The pizza reminds me of cheap FAIR AND Carnival type pizza without the budget pricing. read more

I've been eating at Ponzetti's, in either Ocean City or Salisbury, for 59 years! I have fond memories of watching them toss the dough in the air when I was just a little boy. Now days, I visit the Salisbury location, and the pizza is still my favorite! The sauce is light and not bitter, with just the right blend, and amount of cheeses. I also love that they still put the pepperoni on after the pizza comes from the oven. Seems less greasy, to me. I only wish there was a location closer to where I live! Unfortunately, I can't review their subs as favorably. This review is strictly based on their pizza, which in my, and my family's opinion, is the best ever! Went there with two friends on a Sunday afternoon. Walked up to the counter, there were three employees - 2 on the left counter chatting with a customer and one on the grill cooking a cheesesteak. There was nobody in front of us. We stood at the counter and went unacknowledged for 10 minutes, even though every single employee looked directly at us at some point during the 10 minutes we were waiting. Nobody said a word or offered to take our order, asked us to take a seat, said how long the wait would be or ackowledged our existence in any way. I think putting the sauce on top of the cheese is the secret to why Ponzetti's Pizza is so good. With the sauce on top it gets concentrated by the heat and boosts the flavor. And without a watery tomato sauce soaking into the crust it stays crispier. My theory anyway read more

This place has one of the best pizzas in MD in my opinion. It is easily one of the best multi-location pizza places I've ever been to, along with Grotto and (to a lesser extent) Dough Roller. The flavor of the sauce and cheese are outstanding! The crust and dough are very thin, which is a matter of preference. I love it, but it's a bit messy / floppy. Not a bad pizza for those of us who don't mind busting out a fork and knife. The only complaints I could level are that the pizza is a bit lacking in structural integrity, and it doesn't travel too well. It's best eaten as soon as it's cool enough to handle. That being said, it's *amazing* leftover. If you like cold pizza, do your thing, but my recommendation is to heat it up on the stove in a frying pan with a lid on medium/mid-high. That way the bottom gets nice and crispy like the slices you order on the boardwalk! I've also had the steak and cheese here once or twice - I remember liking it, but the pizza is the stuff dreams are made of! They have the WORST customer service ever !!!! We placed an order for delivery, and 50 minutes later when it had not arrived, I called to see if I could come and get it myself. The lady who answers the phone ( they never give their names) told me the driver had just left with my order. Well another 15 minutes goes by and still no order, so I call again and ask if I can just come pick it up. The same lady tells me to hold on and then some guy gets on the phone ( did not give me his name) and tells me that he has not even started making my order, I explained that it had now been over an hour from when I first called and he said,well I'm busy . I said please cancel my order and I would like to stop by and get a receipt showing the credit to my credit card. He said that he didn't have time to do that because he had subs to make. I said, all I want is a receipt showing that I have not been charged. He laughed and said again that he was busy. I said sir, this is the worst customer service ever and I hope you do not do this to anyone else. I would not recommend ordering from this business, go to little Caesar's they are CHEAPER, nicer and you don't have to wait. read more

This place has very good pizza. That point alone is what kept us, my family of 5, from walking out the door when presented with incredibly terrible customer service. The cashier was very rude and clearly did not want to be there judging from her tone, the look she gave us, and all the sighing, huffing, and puffing she was doing. Ponzetti's has the best pizza in Salisbury. They are hand-tossed, thin, greasy pies from heaven. If you don't like greasy pizza, this place may not be for you. But it's your loss. I can't speak for most of their subs. The cheese steak is not bad (but not the best) and I think I've had a pretty darn good turkey sub there before. But, really, I go there for the pizza. The place is like a NY pizza place; self-service. There is a good amount of seating, but you walk up to the counter to order and pay, then they call your name for you to pick up your food when ready. There's minimal interaction with the staff this way, which works well because, while they have never been rude, they have also never been upbeat and chipper (it's very much like a NY pizza place!) Pretty much like your standard fast food place (where they don't rely on tips). The prices are pretty standard. It's not a chain, so they don't offer 2 for $10 deals and the like, but neither do they inflate the prices, and the sizes are large enough. There's parking along the front and side of the building, which is usually plenty. They do deliver to a limited area, but I have never used that route and wouldn't recommend it to others. Just go in and pick it up if you want to take it home. Bottom line: This place has been around forever with little-to-no advertising (at least, not that I've seen), and I believe it has survived solely because of the pizza. Got a large cheesesteak sub. First, it was two 12 inch subs, not one 24. A little harmless misconception. No big deal. But there was very little meat in the sub. Enough to eat the meat from each sub in one bite per sub. I know this because I opened them up and did so. I was very displeased with the whole lack of substance inside.
