This review is difficult for me to write, I am so upset. We took our three miniature schnauzers to this groomer for a regular grooming. They had been sprayed by a skunk the week before but we had bathed them multiple times and only two smelled when we brought them in. The groomer literally shaved them so bare that their skin in showing. They removed their beards and their eyebrows. Our animals are not even recognizable anymore. The pink of their flesh shows all over their bodies. They also gouged one of our dog's ears so significantly that I fear it may need stitches and we will be taking him to an emergency vet tomorrow for follow up. In fact, they cut all three of our dogs but only admitted to one. Once we got them home, we noticed they had cut our female's ear and our other male's foot. They gave us a $10 reduction in price for cutting his ear - which is ridiculous. They charged us $128 to basically just shave our dogs until they had no hair left at all. I realize getting rid of a skunk smell can be difficult but other groomers use special shampoo or at least leave a little hair. We will NEVER be back. WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. read more

My dog was definitely tired afterwards! We visited twice with our standard poodle and after reviewing records they took us last minute. No complaints. Friendly staff. Dog seemed better exercises than the other doggie day care she goes to by home. They let me see him in a big room with other dogs. Looked fine to me! We washed him after playing all day and did pay for each day even the first - but again, dogs always. Need to be washed after this sort of play and we were visiting from out of town so didn't expect the free trial day. Picked up the phone when we called. We're multiple staff on both days we dropped and picked up. Dog did not seem thirsty. Our guy has epilepsy, they didn't bat an eye at that fact and took care of him just fine. Is the name of this place intentionally ironic? Strongly suggest a drop-in unannounced visit to see for yourself, but even when they expected us, the place was shockingly unclean. The reality vs the online presence you will see is very different. Just got a bad "hairs on neck" feeling that increased after leaving there (should have never left) & picked up a seemingly traumatized dog after a couple hours. When we arrived to pick up not much later, the door was locked (as they do for safety) & took a while for the seemingly high school age girl to get to the door from the back & she seemed tired. The owner & her daughter (who were there at check-in time) were already nowhere to be seen & this girl was there alone. She claimed our dog "did great" & no problems at all, yet she brought our dog out from the WAY back instead of one of the first rooms that had smaller/older dogs as they claimed would be where our dog would be. Ended up using another place that was a multi-million times better & so clean. I will never forgive myself for not turning around & leaving as soon as we got there, but you do strange things when people "seem nice enough" (though in the owner's case a bit "intense" in person--not sure how else to fully describe it in words, but not in a positive way)--and you're in the moment before fully processing everything. Again, you don't have to take my word for it, do an unannounced drop-in (though mine was not so there's that). It has become obvious that as usual, social media is a big facade, and reviews on the largest search engine are numerous and strangely positive (like the one her daughter/employee under her own full name on (initials R.G, owner's same last name) put on google 10 mos ago as if a customer), no doubt due to the ease of adding them (not only just for this business), as well as the "buddy / family network reviews" that dispute reality--hence the need to really do your OWN due diligence *in person* no exceptions. read more

Summer 2014 visit New location... same great service. Took our pack of 3 for a weekend visit while we finished renovation work at home and could not be happier with how they were treated. The new location has a huge indoor play area... so now worry about my 9 yr old westie over doing it in the heat. None of our dogs were thirsty or hungry when returning home... they were tired and slept all day Sunday after our 8 am pick up. read more

We brought in a cavashon and our toy poodle-they absolutely butchered both of him. $100 bucks for this crap! They said the were matted. Instead of taking the time to brush out the poodles ears they just chopped them up. Same with the rest of their bodies. They charged extra because of the "matting" and all the did was buzz cut both. Six weeks later and I'm still furious looking at my poor dogs! Do not go to these butchers. Our toy poodle is especially ruined! read more

I can't begin to describe how much I loved this place and loved taking Baxter (our goldendoodle) to this place!! Not only did we love this place, but, so did Baxter and it seemed as if everyone who worked there loved him, as well. I never realized that they were cage free until we started leaving Baxter there while we were out of town. Knowing a cage free, extremely friendly staffed dog boarding/day care was close by when we lived in Cuyahoga Falls was amazing! We miss this place and so does Baxter. The price was great also! I took my dog to get his haircut at Pooch Palace a month ago. When my dog got home he had 3 cuts on his head, one on each ear and about an inch and a half razor size cute on his face. I was not even told about any of this and had to discover it on my own. I did call the groomer/ owner the next morning and she denied knowing about any of this! She offered a free haircut which I denied and said I wanted a full refund. I stated I would never bring my dog back there again. She did send me a full refund, however my poor dog had marks for weeks! I would not recommend them to anyone! read more

We love that this place is cage-free and my dog can play with others her own size. Our dog goes there for day care and we also take advantage of their overnight care when we go on vacation or when we'll be out of town for a day or two. Our dogsitter had pretty much retired from private home dogsitting so after reading internet reviews, we decided to try Pooch Palace for our two girls. Pooch Palace is actually a house with many rooms and the dogs have the run(all together) of certain rooms or you can arrange for a private room if your dog is not social or has special needs. The staff is very caring and down to earth, and I was put at ease immediately after talking to a few of the employees They stayed for 3 nights and when we picked them up they seemed so happy and excited as if trying to tell us what fun times they had. We are using Pooch Palace again very soon and I know now I will be able to relax and enjoy knowing my pups are in good care. read more

Don't get fooled by the 5 star reviews. It's most likely friends or relatives of the owner. It should speak for itself when you see both 5 stars and 1 star reviews. No in between ratings? Hmm that's weird. I wouldn't really give a crap until I checked to see what rating they had. I brought my dog there to get groomed and it was a lousy job but my biggest complaint was the fact that my dog was sedated under their care. It's a cairn terrier (like toto). I even checked with my vet and they said it's not uncommon but is very illegal. They didn't admit to it so I couldn't do anything from a legal standpoint so I came here. They had a 5 star rating before I took my dog there but I later realized it was because they only had 1 review. My 1 star rating brought them to an average rating of 3 stars. Now it's back to 5? Hmm weird again! I know there's people out there that give bad ratings because they're bored or a competitor but this is legit. My first review is still in the thread but it seems yelp only posts the positive ones for you to see at first glance. I was in the Cleveland area for an appointment. I had my dog - Joi - go to daycare for two days. On the second day as I was to pick her up and drive back to Pittsburgh - I arrived at the daycare at 6:20 pm (they close at 6:30 pm) and the daycare was closed. No emergency phone number/after hours number on the door or their website. I was in tears as Joi (who had separation anxiety - saw me in the front window and was in distress. I called directory assistance, Jill's daughter and the daycare several times. Finally at 9:13 pm - Jake (who said he came in to walk the dogs) - called me (NOT THE OWNER - JILL - as I would have expected) and said he was sorry. WOW - my dog was left by some irresponsible person and all they could say was not good enough. My dog regularly attends daycare in Pittsburgh and travels with me to several nearby states (where she has gone to different daycares) this has never happened to me. No call from Pooch palace asking if I was picking up Joi or boarding her, no way to get in touch with Jill. I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOG BACK THERE AGAIN. read more

Well aside from having to finish the job cleaning up a few long patches of hair they missed and bad shave lines my dog looks fine. Not the big concern. The employees seemed nice and polite as well as the owner but she seemed more interested in busting the person who took the appointment since they didn't ask me to bring in med records. Still not my biggest concern. After reading the first review I realized she mentoned her dogs slept all day after the visit. When I picked up my dog he was really excited to see me as normal but as soon as we got in the car he just laid down and didn't bother bouncing around the car. Not normal. He got very lethargic and crashed as soon as we got home. I called my vet first to see if its legal for a groomer to give a sedative to a dog. They said its definitly not legal and not uncommon. They told me to call and ask them and if they admit to it then something can be done. The girl who answered my call seemed appropriatly shocked after I asked if they did that and said no but he played a lot with another dog so maybe thats why so tired. He's fine now but I feel this should be known about. No proof but I know my dog. It was my day off and my usual groomers couldn't get me in today so I looked online and they had great reviews only later to see it was the only review. We won't be back. read more
