First, let me say I was in a bind and needed a doggy hotel, since I made plans at the last minute, I had to use this place. I normally go to Alador. Dan seems like a one man show. I never saw anybody else when I dropped her off or picked her up. He is the only person who answers the phones. I never heard any dogs barking, when I think about it. When I picked her up, she had wet pee over her and you can smell dry pee on her. I can't help but believe she didn't have the accommodations he said she would have. He had no relationship with her after 5 days. I don't know if he puts something in their food to keep them calm, or what, but it's like a babysitter trying to attend to 15 babies. You can't do it. I don't believe I will use this place again. read more

AVOID. I took our 4 year old lab twice and each time was a big mistake. I should've known better, but the owner is extremely personable but absolutely deceiving. The first time our little guy came back smelling and being really lethargic. He recovered after a few days and we thought he just played too much. We took him again and asked if we could see the facility in the back. THE OWNER SAID NO AND TOLD ME TO WATCH THE VIDEO. I was hesitant and should've walked away at that point, but had no choice. We come back a few days later to pick him up and he has been having horrible diarrhea and vomiting. We went to the vet to find out HE HAD WORMS!!! One year ago, my dogs went to Camp Bow Wow in Bedford for a weekend, and once again they came home smelly! I started wondering if it really can be true, that we have to pay full price for both dogs, even through they stay in the same kennel ($36 per dog per night). I did some research for a better option, and I am so happy that we found Pet Lodge USA of Beachwood! First of all, this is a clean facility, and my dogs never come home smelly. Second, it's obvious how much they care about the animals, since every little detail was designed for their comfort. Third, it's cheaper! We pay $29 for one dog per night, and just another $10 for the second dog. My dogs love coming here, and they love the owner Dan. I cannot recommend this place enough, and I feel sorry that I ever took my dogs anywhere else. At Pet Lodge USA, we get to bring toys for the dogs, they sleep on American made cotton sheets, and they have a tv in the kennel all included in the price. Most importantly, they have someone on staff 24/7. I recommend for everyone who is considering, to go take a tour of the Pet Lodge and see for yourselves. read more

This is one of the best Pet care places I have ever been to. I originally was going to bring my dog to the Barkley but when they told me that my dog would be in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, I knew I needed to find an alternative. After a quick search online I found the Pet Lodge. Not only did they take me at such short notice but they said they would keep the lobby open for me extra long to get there. This is unheard of in the Pet Boarding community. Once I got there, I met the owner who is a charismatic and friendly guy, and he took my on a tour of the facility. The place was amazing. Each room had a different theme (western, city, nautical) and all the dogs have their own area with a TV!! It was basically Disney World for dogs. When I picked up my dog afterwards, she was happy and energetic. Everytime I bring her back to the Pet Lodge she runs right up to the door with excitement. Overall: Pro: -Unbelieveable facility -Very flexible on drop off and pick up time -Very friendly and genuinely caring staff Con: -A little hard to find due to the cities restrictions on sign size. We have two mini weenie dogs and have never boarded our fur babies before. We were made to feel so comfortable leaving them with the staff at the Beachwood location. They invited us to call anytime and check up on them. They let us pick the channel for them to watch/listen to while in their kennel. They even sent us home with a sample of a product we inquired about! The staff was very informative, welcoming and truly seemed to love our pups. When we picked them up, they were happy, well taken care of and both of our puppies headed over to say a goodbye to the staff before we headed out. We will definitely be using them in the future. I wish zero stars was an option I have never boarded my dogs in a kennel before and was quite apprehensive. I had come to check out Pet Lodge a few times before our planned vacation to pick up paperwork and get a feel for the place. On their website they advertise that any time the lobby is open that you can request a tour. So, I asked for a tour and was told that due to Covid, I could not see the pet accommodations. (Mind you that the owner was unmasked.) I asked if they had any cameras set up so we could see the pets while they were boarding and was told that there were no cameras due to pet privacy. ‍ The owner (Dan?) is the only one who ever mans the front desk. I never saw another worker. Despite all of my misgivings, we tried to drop off our dogs this morning. The owner took one look at my information sheet and scoffed. "What's all this written on the side?" He was extremely rude about me asking that they not let my younger dog eat my older dog's food. He acted like this was the hardest thing anyone has ever asked him to do. I have two dogs- a wonderful (if piggish) young puppy and a sweet, picky, anxious 7 year old golden doodle who sometimes refuses food. I cannot be the only one who keeps an eye out for feeding issues. The owner was very rude and unaccommodating about it. Then he asked me for their vaccination records and fecal results. I had the vaccination records but no fecal results. So I tell him that I will call the vet for the fecal results and he says about three times in a row- " I told you about the fecal results on the phone. I already told you about this. You knew about it because I told you on the phone." He was snide, condescending, and dead wrong. I don't know who he told about it, but it was not me. I had only spoken to him on the phone once before about a month ago. I do not recall him telling me about the fecal results, but no matter, I was happy to comply. However, I told him to refrain from lecturing me. His treatment of me was unprofessional, disrespectful, and condescending. Again, I have no problem with his policies, just with his treatment of me. After how rude he was (and my initial apprehension) I did not feel comfortable leaving my dogs with him. I do not recommend this place for your beloved pets. read more

Today we tried to make a reservation for Memorial day and we were told that he is too strong and wild for their facility to handle. We have boarded our dog many times at several other places and have never had a problem. When a trip came up fairly last minute and everywhere else was booked, we decided to check out Pet Lodge. We got a short tour and were told the usual boarding procedures that every other place we have used were also in place there. My dog came home in distress and smelling awful. I had my two dogs boarded here recently for just a few days. The owner is very nice and friendly, the facilities seemed super clean and modern, and my dogs came home very happy. They even gave me a discounted rate. I had to board them for 1 night and 2 days, which would normally mean paying for doggy day-care on that second day, but they only charged me what they would have had for a night+a day. They're already more affordable than most of the other comparable places around town so this was just icing on the cake to me. They also sent me texts with pictures of my babies throughout the course of their stay, which I thought was neat. We recently boarded our 13 y.o. cat for a week at Pet Lodge USA in Beachwood. We'd been boarding him at a veterinary facility for the last 12 years, but not only had they greatly increased the cost, they had also "labeled" the cat as aggressive because he HISSED at an employee--oooo, so scary! We toured Pet Lodge and were very impressed. Not only were the cat facilities larger and less expensive, they had so much more visual stimulation! The owner was so helpful and made us very comfortable. When we dropped off and picked up the cat, he was calm and relaxed. We were told that he had a nice, uneventful stay. None of that awful hissing.... It's so great to have found such a wonderful place. Now long term boarding won't be an uncomfortable, expensive experience for either us or the cat! read more

My dog was at Beachwood Pet Lodge USA for 8 nights. He came home with his hind legs and back legs chewed down to the skin. And this continues as I am writing my review. Dan confirmed to me this morning that they routinely give out dog treats [without owners knowledge]. I have been working thru food allergies with my dog for well over a year now and this has been an extreme set back. Many dogs have food allergies. They may be a great place to board your pet, but they are making a huge mistake by not making owners aware of the extra treats they give out in kindness but not always well received by their owners. read more

The place is spotless as well. The dogs get to play several times a day with other dogs. I've been taking my 2 dogs to Pet Lodge USA almost since the day it opened. I had been taking them to at different place that refers to itself as a pet spa & hotel and the prices reflect that. Unfortunately it was way over priced and I heard from ex-employees the care the animals received was not what I was lead to believe. In fact I know of someone who's dog ended up with ring worm after having stayed there. So, when I read an add for Pet Lodge, I was a bit skeptical but after talking with Dan, the owner, I decided it was worth going to check the place out. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and organized the place seemed, and Dan was obviously a caring man who I could tell would look after my 'girls' the way they should be. During the tour Dan explained that if during their stay one or both of them seemed sick, there's a special area for the animals to stay until he can have them checked out by my vet. This way none of the other animals there would be in danger of becoming infected if it turned out there was some type of a problem. Long story short, I recommend Pet Lodge USA to anyone in need of a clean, caring temporary home for their pet(s). Also, the prices are are more then fair without any hidden fees and though there's no actual groomer on site, Dan will see to it the animals can leave for home looking and smelling clean because he will give them a bath. There is an extra charge but it's minimal and worth the price, although my 2 might not agree...LOL!!! read more

We have two cats that are pampered to say the least. For several years we used the spa place for boarding. I don't really have anything negative to say about that place other than their pricing starting to get very onerous. We travel, so after seeing the Pet Lodge open closer to us. I asked at the spa place if we could negotiate the rate based on the new completion. A flat no was the answer. It just struck a bad chord with me me after having been a several year boarding client. We had an unannounced visit at the Pet Lodge, and it is spotless. No odor. Ok, there is no pool, but the owner is ever present. The business is family owned and operated. We have left our "kids" there twice already, each for a week at a time. They were well cared for. Same weight when we picked them up, so no issues with feeding. I would suggest at least giving them a look. read more

I just picked up my dog today after 4 days of play. He appeared healthy and happy. Dan even cleaned him up after he had an accident. Dan has great conversation. Shared how my dog did on the track. The first time we boarded our two dogs with Pet Lodge USA, we had a good experience. The second and last time, was completely different. We have a senior dog that has a sensitive stomach. He has been on grain-free food for years. We dropped off our dogs with pre-measured, individual bags of food for each day of their stay and discussed their feeding routine at check-in with Dan. They stayed for a few nights. When I picked the dogs up in the morning, again dealing with Dan, he never mentioned any issues with food/feedings. We weren't home ten minutes when our older dog threw-up a large amount of undigested kibble. Our dogs eat 1x day in the evening but it was clear he was fed that morning. But most importantly, it was easy to see that the thrown-up kibble was not what he was sent with or accustomed to eating--it looked like Kibbles-n-bits. Anyone with a basic knowledge of dogs knows that a complete change in diet like that can cause great trouble and discomfort. Our dog continued to be sick for several days and required a visit to the vet. I would not recommend. read more

My dog means the world to me and I would not trust her with any one other than Dan. He does get to know your dog's personality and pays special attention to each dogs needs. My is a rescue dog. She loves everybody and everything other than other dogs. Dan takes great care of her and she gets personalized special care one on one. She loves running the track and having her own back yard to sun in or play around in. She hates cages but does not mind the Villa because it's roomy. She plays in the inside play room.
