Highly recommend! They love dogs here. They take their time and give personalized care to each dog. I am super picky with how my dog is groomed. I am over protective of my miniature schnauzer. I was very pleased with the way they listened to my specific requests with my dog. They handled my dog with care. I could tell the dog was happy when I picked him up. They have a window where you can watch the groomers (they are transparent). The cost is reasonable. Not sure what else I could say to emphasize this is a great place to take your fur baby and you can be satisfied they will care for your dog well. Highly recommend. read more

After calling and trying different places to take my two dogs to get groomed, I came across a new little place right across from Boggus Stadium. From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall place, but oh how the atmosphere changes as soon as you walk in the door. Being a pet grooming salon, you would expect the smell of wet dog to jump out at you; but it smells clean and comfy just like you home would. The bright colors make it an inviting place not only to you as the consumer, but also to your pet who needs to feel comfortable there as well. My dogs usually cry and scratch me everytime I drop them off to get groomed, but for the first time, they themselves felt comfortable being there! Not one peep or yelp came from them. That alone made me feel at ease. Their website is very informative, but they only give you enough information to entice you so you can either call or stop by and fall in love with the place. Fast forward, to pick up time....my dogs looked and smelled great (and they looked very happy)! They gave me a report card letting me know of their behavior and a certificate for them! And if you're anything like me, a proud pet parent, this brought a HUGE smile to my face. It was a fast service and for once I felt completely at ease when I left my pets there. The other plus that I loved is that they have options for consumers to pick from; 3 different plans for grooming! I haven't found any other place who does something like this. This is what I have been looking for since I moved back from Austin, TX! It's a little piece of the big city in our quaint little town. Very nice. My parents took their dog here this afternoon. Pooches Corner is easy to miss while driving because the storefront is not very large and is shoulder to shoulder with larger buildings/businesses - but is cutely decorated. The reception area is great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Most people would expect a grooming salon to smell like wet dogs and other foul things, but Pooches Corner has doggy body spray aromas wafting in the air. It's certainly busier than what I expected. I was expecting a bored staff and no dogs around. Instead, they were welcoming and all sorts of dogs were being taken care of. For a bath, nail trimming, and teeth cleaning, the total was $18. My parents also got some of the mango body spray for the dog. He smells great! My parents are taking him here again. read more

Took my dog to Pooches Corner for the first time yesterday. I can't be more pleased with their service! Not only did they do a great grooming job, but my dog looked happy. His last time getting groomed was at Petsmart and he came back full of cuts from their razors and got nervous any time I would leave. That's why I'm so excited about pooches corner! Five stars for the haircut they did for my shitzu! Dropped him off at 11:30 and didn't get called until 3 but it was well worth the wait!! He wasn't matted anywhere aside from a small piece behind his ears which every other groomer seems to ignore. That's always my test for how much time the groomer really spent on him and this has been the only time I get my dog back 100% knot free. They really paid attention to the details and it showed! When I get my dog back I also check his belly for any cuts or scrapes from the clippers and I'm so pleased to say that he didn't have a single mark on him. He smelled great, got his dingy coat back to its bright white color, had his nails clipped evenly and without any noticeable damage, and he was happy and healthy when I picked him up. I came in from out of town and will definitely be using the same groomer when I'm back in the Valley. Two thumbs up for pooches corner. While staying in Harlingen for the winter, my two miniature dachshunds were in need of a nail trimming. I found Pooches Corner online and liked the reviews. Patience and Caring were mentioned. This is usually a traumatic experience for them and me. Marlene and her helper, a nice young man, were wonderful with them. Maggie & Marlee were calm because they were. Not only did they clip their nails, they used a dremel on them. They had never had that done before, because they are usually so scared and struggle so much, no one has ever been brave enough to try it. Thank You Marlene for a wonderful experience!!
