Whatever you do, do NOT take your dog here for grooming. This place has gone downhill so fast. I've been taking my dog here to be groomed for about a year, if not a little bit longer. Not only has the quality of the cut and wash gone down significantly, but yesterday when my dog was picked up, she had a cut on her ear so bad that it was dripping blood all over. I fully understand accidents happen, however not once did someone call me to let me know she had been cut. When my mother picked her up for me (I was at work) they never said anything then, either. My mom noticed some crust on her ear, but didn't think much of it. Once I got home from work my mom mentioned the crust on her ear and when I looked closer I saw that there was an open cut that was now actively bleeding. The crust looked like it was quick clot powder used for stopping bleeding. I also noticed that her face wasn't washed or trimmed and her tail wasn't trimmed either. It continued to bleed so badly that I had to hold pressure on it and apply clotting powder that I have at home in my first aid kit. I then called them and left them a message letting them know what happened. I received a call back about an hour later. I explained what happened and she took my contact information and told me the owner would call me. The next day, after not received a call from owner, I called back again and left another voicemail. After a couple hours I was called back, explained the situation again, and was again promised the owner would call me. No one has contacted me as of yet, and I've given them over a day and a half to hear from them. There has been plenty of opportunity to at least explain to me what happened and why I wasn't contacted. I'm not sure if the person doing the grooming isn't trained, or just has no compassion, but I do know that they shouldn't be allowed to work with animals. Now my dog is injured and still dirty. Please for the sake of your pet do not bring them here. read more

We have brought our very needy English bulldog here many times and he loves it! He naturally has a lot of ailments and always seems to be on some medicine when we take him and they're very good about making sure he gets everything he needs. I love that it's social so they let them outside often throughout the day to play, but the dogs still each have their own room (not kennels). It's perfect for our dog because he gets to play and then go into his own space with a glass door so he can still see out. They provide beds and bowls as well so really they're all taken care of. They have four drop off/pick up times throughout the day, as early as 7:30am or as late as 9:00pm so it's convenient for traveling. Their prices are more than reasonable and they also offer daycare and grooming! We really love this place and even go out of our way when traveling just to bring our doggo here - he's always treated like a prince. read more

We had our dogs stay there for 3 days. We picked them up and our small poodle mix was acting really odd and trying to poop. I looked at her backside and she had about a golf ball sized area of poop and hair completely covering her rectum. It was clear that did not just happen. We had to give her a bath to get it out and she was crying the whole time because her anus was so irritated and she was constantly trying to push a BM out so her anus was inflamed and large (the equivalent of human hemorrhoids). She was clearly neglected there. I called today to talk to the manager to let them know what happened do that maybe someone else doesn't have to deal with this. The manager was very rude and talked over me asking what I wanted- I didn't want any monetary compensation just to let them know what happened. She said "maybe the weekend staff felt uncomfortable taking care of it" which I guess is the new way to escape responsibility. I work in the medical field and do uncomfortable things everyday to help people. Maybe if you are uncomfortable taking care of dogs you shouldn't be doing it. Awesome! This is a social style boarding..which my little guy loves. I have been using Poochies for the last 10yrs. My dog use to go once a week for about 6 yrs. Then my schedule changed and now he goes on his own little mini vacation when I go away. On a recent stay my dog was having some difficulty with over panting. I received a call from the owner to let me know his status and her concern. It was so nice that they were on top of the situation. (My 10yr old dog over did it on a humid day - he thinks he is still a puppy). I would definitely recommend the facility. read more

Poochies is a great place to take your dogs for either doggy day care or for overnight boarding. Annette the owner and her staff go above and beyond to make sure your dog is taken care of - with lots of affection! I have used Poochies for over 11 years for both day care and vacations. My dog LOVED coming here to play - he would try to push the car door open every time we pulled into the parking lot. The dogs have their own little rooms - there are NO cages here. They have a large, fenced yard to play in - it is very social with the dogs placed in groups: large dogs with large dogs, small dogs with small dogs and older dogs with other older dogs. They will give medication to your dogs (pills, eye drops, ear cleaning, etc) and are really good about special diets. Poochies allows you to provide your own food/treats if your dog has allergies. Poochies also offers grooming and nail trimming. I highly recommend Poochies for your dog. Mine was treated wonderfully and they took great care of him, especially as he aged. read more
