The consult was quick and bout two weeks later (he sent an email explaining the delay in the mean time) he sent us a very detailed mock up of the landscape. Then he patiently answered about 30 back and forth emails as I asked questions and made revisions until we had a final plan. He had someone come out to clear the old landscape on 10/23/17 and then he finished all the work a week later on 11/1//17. This included redoing all the landscape in the front of our house, cleaning up and redoing our courtyard with stones and creeping fig and cleaning out the back yard and planting several fruit trees. During his time on our project Johnathan went above and beyond, was always accessible by phone and email and even continues to answer questions for me about plant care. Our lawn is absolutely gorgeous and we get constant compliments.

There were also some challenges with the permitting process that required me to hire another professional to resolve. The final result did not fully meet my expectations based on earlier discussions.

We chose Madewell because they were reasonably priced and didn't try to BS us like the other two. Not sure why some contractors think eveyone is ignorant just because they dont want to be bothered with doing the job themselves. We did our homework. This was a 3 stage process. Stage one...spay and kill off the the old grass and weeds. Stage 2...the next week they removed all the old dead grass and weeds. Stage 3...laying of the new sod, which actually happened over a month later because of COVID-19 and waiting for good healthy sod. They also adjusted all the sprinklers if needed to make sure there was adequate coverage. The sod was delivered from the sod company and looked beautiful and healthy. We watered for 30 min, 2x a day for a month. Our lawn is absolutely beautiful and healthy and by week 3 had already taken to the soul. We get compliments all the time. My neighbors are probably just happy not be looking at a dirt yard any longer. Things that I found issue with along the way: clean-up wasn't as good as I would have liked, but I am very particular; and communication was not the best. Despite that, I couldn't be happier with the end result.

I have never met a contractor that impress me as much as Micheal. His knowledge, experience, and work ethic is rare in this day and age. All jobs do not go as planned and mine was no different. My patio had support requirements for pillars requiring my architect to produce a detailed construction drawing not usually required for driveways and patios. The permit had to be submitted 3 times (no fault of Micheals), however, Micheal expedited the process so I lost a minimum amount of time.
