Used this company in 2022 and gave them 5 stars, I continued to use them until a few weeks ago, my spa/waterfall were acting up, called Jack as he was the one I usually called. Scheduled a service call the same day between 11-noon. I was not at home when he arrived. Called him when I saw him on my home security. He said the problem was fixed. I thanked him and told him to send me the bill (which we normally do) I was taken aback the following day when his service call price we had for three years went up by $50!! He mentioned nothing of this when we spoke. I called asked him to honor the old price as I was not informed. When I got a reminder bill asked again if the old price could be honored , was told "we don't have to advise customers of a price change just like when gas stations and grocery stores increase their prices." What planet are they on, gas stations have their prices posted in HUGE numbers you see the price before you pump, grocery stores are the same if you don't like the price you see you can go elsewhere. The final straw came when they threatened to put a lien on my house. How's that for customer service! If you need to raise your prices I get that, its your call but tell customers ahead of time and they can either approve the new price or decline the service and find someone else. The way they handled this was unprofessional and classless. There are so many good pool companies in Orange County, who do not treat you like this. I begrudge giving them a one star would give then a negative if I could. read more

My spa heater was not working due to the rats' damage, Even I thought it looked pretty bad. Rats were living there for a long time since we didn't use the spa for over a year. Jack came and fixed it on the spot. Only need to replace one part and he even had the used part in his truck. The total cost was only $200. Others that came prior, even suggested that the whole system has to be replaced which could cost a few thousand dollars. Alex and the crew did and amazing job! We needed our entire pool and spa renovated. The pool and spa are over 30 years old and have never been upgraded. The tile was broken, the plaster was stained and damaged, the heater was dead, and there were issues with the overall functionality with the pool (the returns weren't working, the lights didn't work, the plumbing was in disrepair, the electrical was substandard, and the drains were outdated). We received quotes from three different pool contractors and Alex/PSMP was the only person who suggested an additional bi-pass valve to allow our skimmer and automatic vacuum to work simultaneously. The communication was great, Alex always let us know when they would be working and when they would arrive, etc. There were a few unexpected rain days and Alex always communicated schedule changes. They always showed up on time, cleaned up at the end of the day, and took great pride in giving us the best quality result. Alex always showed up to review and inspect the work every day, and he communicated progress with us daily. During the work, some electrical and plumbing issues were discovered, and Alex was able to fix these issues with no impact to the project schedule and at minimal additional cost. Our pool and spa are now gorgeous, our heater, drains, lights, electrical, skimmer, and valve all work flawlessly, and most importantly our pool and spa are now in great working condition. read more

Our Pentair pool/spa heater was not heating our jacuzzi past 75 degrees and our pool guy has been clueless on how to service or work this Pentair system. I started looking on YouTube for videos of possible fixes and got overwhelmed so I started calling pool system maintenance and repair companies off Google. I contacted PSMP and Jack responded immediately and came out the next day. Initially, he said our unit seemed to be running fine but when I explained the problem, he narrowed it down to our faulty temperature sensor. Not sure if it was an "off day" but I was disappointed with the response from the call (Alex?). I was looking into repair services and he immediately said that he's not wasting time on $1000 jobs and that he is seeking larger jobs that don't waste his time. He also said that small fixes for an old pool is useless and that I mind as well do a full renovation. I asked how he could assess the pool if he hasn't even spent the time to take a look in-person to provide a proposal. It's challenging to place trust into a contractor if it's not a referral and his first impression left me not wanting to work with him. Can you image if he wasn't patient on a call what would happen on a project that had unexpected issues? Would he be impatient in explaining things or have the patience to even run the project? He also said that the method of him filtering through calls is to gauge the callers reaction when he said repairs or demos would run at least around 13-18k to help him identify the type of work that he wanted to perform... He then said that his reviews were impeccable so it justified his response that he does good work.... so here you go... a 1 Star rating for poor customer experience. I know time is money, so if you think your time is too valuable, why don't you hire apprentices or customer service reps to take calls as provide estimates? When we decided to finally remodel our old (built in 1969) pool to add a spa and a sun shelf as part of a complete makeover we talked to a lot of contractors. All came highly recommended, and we were able to narrow it to three we thought we felt comfortable working with.
