Local pool supply and services chain, Leslie's will beat Amazon on most goods : eg. Basic pool skimmer + aluminum pole combo is under 20 bucks, can't beat that. While swapping in a new motor for my Pentair Whisperflow pump, I had a heck of time getting the impeller off the old motor: it crossed my mind to just hack the impeller to pieces until I could get to its central shaft (where the o-ring is) and then loosen that part off the old motor shaft. This was on a Sunday and no other local pool supply stores were open: called and the woman working was friendly and helpful. I decided to bring the old motor in and she patiently let me compare the four impellers they had in stock against the one stuck on my old motor's shaft. Found one that looked exactly like the old impeller -- paid probably twice what I'd pay online elsewhere - but again, it's a Sunday, no other local pool supply stores are open and I needed it _that day_ if I broke the old one. Also I like to support local businesses when possible. Three hours later after finally getting the old impeller off with WD rust removal spray and struggling with an oil filter plier (what a pain) I decided to put the new one on with a new shaft seal and o-ring (purchased elsewhere already): the impeller from Leslie's worked just as well as the old one and gives me peace of mind that a newer part is now in place and I'm set for several more years with the new motor. I recommend Leslie's and will go back if I need more pool supplies. read more

This location SUCKS, I was waiting patiently for bob to finish with another customer certain he saw me waiting. Another customer walks in and bob immediately assists him, I thought to myself maybe he's just acknowledging him and will help me first since I had been waiting, no he proceeded to help that customer and even had the audacity to look at me . I felt very discriminated. Most retail establishments usually give customers a slight acknowledgement, " welcome, someone will be right with you" I was not greeted or even helped . Will not be giving my business to this location. Bob needs to do better. read more

I honestly did not know all the hassle it is to have a pool! I always thought: Build the pool and fill it with water!!!!! Oh my goodness no, there is so much more to that! Thanks to this location of Leslie's Pool Supplies and to Jeremy for answering all our questions and being extremely friendly! We are really appreciative of all their help! Well after a pool gets "plastered" it starts getting filled with water.... 10 days later all the chemicals needed can be put in. Alex helped us out with ALLLLL of that! He tested our water and saved our sanity! He got us all the chemicals necessary to start up our pool!! Every time we call with questions to make sure we are doing something right, they have been nothing but patient and veer us in the right direction! They are the best! You can find anything and everything you need for the pool here! The cutest floats, from seesaws to swans and of course the boring stuff like pool brushes and nets! Reason for review is due to our last visit was not welcomed at all. Making us feel so uncomfortable that we felt was best to give our business online hehe. We love the Pool Spa - ( it's incredible for family gatherings. Our pool smells amazing and we get compliments, also leave skin feeling good and not dry due to chemicals/ bleach. Highly recommend product. Blue bottle with black top) . Shock and Perfectly weekly all perform so well together. It's a must during summer time for us. My husband came with the intention of purchasing all and even backups to have at home. Due to the manager/ owner ( he's always in register ) nasty looks and rude short answers when my husband was looking for a better net to trap trash. We felt it was best to take our business elsewhere. It's unfortunate as we come here often to purchase our pool supplies. I rather buy online from now on or Brea site. Called to inquire if a certain spa filter was in stock. The associate was very personable and helpful. Because there was only one left, I asked him to hold it for me. I arrived within 20 minutes and he had it saved for me at the register. Although there was one other employee, he alone was doing his best to answer phones and assist customers. The older heavy set Caucasian male employee needs some love and compassion because he is so incredibly rude. He isn't helpful he didn't make any recommendations on what I should purchase, I came in wanting to buy products and the most I got out of him was his favorite catch phrase "Read the instructions." A white female customer who didn't even buy anything got better customer service than I did, a Hispanic female. I obviously witnessed him have the ability to show kindness to someone else, the least he can do is show me that same courtesy. If I could leave zero stars I would. read more

I thought it could only be one poorly managed and trained Leslie's but it seems the Whittier facility is just as bad as the La Habra store Went in to find a part and nobody to say hello at the front but instead the guy with the pony and a broken arm was staring from the back like we were bothering him. Finally he came out and stood at the counter instead of asking if theres anything he can do or show us anything we had to seek his help and all we got was that's all we have is on the shelf when clearly I saw a full stock of parts on the back wall and would have taken 10 mins just to look. It truly sucks when you need to beg someone to do their job, let alone have somebody represent a major company with the crappy attitude at both stores, La Habra and Whittier. read more

If you are a demanding type who needs immediate attention, don't go to a small store like this. Walmart is your style. If however you appreciate a small business that gives each customer personal attention and the correct answers/solutions to pool woes, this is your happy place. Well stocked and fluent in poolspeak...I have found Leslie's to be the place to go. Prices are reasonable, they don't spam you to death and they have everything you need. I have been to all the other local pool supply places and find Leslie's to be the best. They sell the quality items (unlike Walmart) that professionals use. No cheap plastic brushes and Chinese clarifiers that ruin your pool (like Walmart). Yeah, if you go during a busy period you gotta wait, so what? Take the crown off your head and get in line like everyone else...or leave and come back later. If they had a dozen staff people the prices would be a lot higher. Appreciate the balance between low prices and low overhead. Or go to friggin' Walmart and see how long you gotta wait for service there. I love this little supply store. It's one stop shopping and personal, one-on-one customer care. read more

This place is always understaffed. Overtime We've been there, the staff is either overwhelmed by people walking in, or they are too busy to even acknowledge that you are there. They have almost everything you might need for your pool, but if you already know what you want and just want to pay and go, well you're gonna wait until somebody is done checking water samples. A little reassuring 'I'll be right with you" or a "hello" would help. But that doesn't happen. It's a shame too, like I said, they have almost anything and everything you might need for a pool, and the staff is quite knowledgeable. For us, we already know what we need and what we want is to just pay for our stuff and go. Sadly, that never happens. read more

Ok I walked in thinking I knew what I was doing, wrong. Thankfully after asking what I was looking for and a few more questions being asked of me by the sale associate (didn't catch name but receipt shows R. Mclendon.) I was about to do everything wrong. She saved the day, extended if I had worries or questions to feel free to call or come in and that if I couldn't get my above ground pool water right to bring her a sample and she would get us on the right track. Last year our problems were much worse and Leslie's pool in Pico Rivera or Downey wouldn't even talk to us. Oh we don't specialize in those pools. This morning at 9:14 am I walk into Leslie's and nobody there not even the worker so I look around by green out and other chemicals they have and a few minutes later a guy walks in and immediately the worker shows up and starts helping him ignoring me and they gets his items and leaves and never does the worker acknowledge me then a woman walks and he started helping her testing her water and so on so I start walking out and he then ask me do I need help I replied well when I came in and nobody was here and now as I'm walking out you want to help me 3 rd every time I come here they don't have the items I need or they refuse to help wth I'll buy from Amazon from now on Screw Leslie's I guess they surely don't need my business every year they get new employees that don't know anything about pools read more

I called leslies about my pool light; they charged me 90.00 to come out and assess my pool light situation. The technician told me it would cost 567.00 to repair the broken light and that he'd need to order parts and return to do the repairs when the parts came in. two weeks later I called leslie's to find out if the parts for my pool had arrived - they had. I scheduled an appointment for the repairs (12pm - 5pm window). at 3pm someone called to say he was on his way but wasn't sure what repairs he'd be making (1st red flag) I asked if he had the parts since he's not aware of what repairs were needed and he responded he had to go to "the store" to get the parts. I sent him pictures of the broken light and he called me back to say that it didn't appear that he'd be able to make the repairs. There you have it two weeks of my time and half of my day off WAISTED!! I called leslie's to ask for a refund of the original 90.00 fee that was charged since the original technician had made an incorrect assessment of my pool light and leslie's ability to make the repairs. So far they've told me that manager approval would be needed for a refund. UTTER INCOMPETENCE!!! don't waist your time with the "Mcdonald's" of pool service & repair. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with hello, "What do you need help with?" R.Manzo helped me with my many questions and even took the time to look up codes for me. She made a check list and took her time to not just get the items I needed, but explain the use for each one. She also had previously looked up and item for and other customer, the same one I needed . She had a other store location ready with a quantity in that store. Her customer service was on point.
