We all started with mimosas and bloody Mary's. I ordered the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. The chicken fried steak is very large, big enough to feed two. The service I received today was less than stellar. I understand it is Mother's Day and restaurants are busy. I may have been dining alone but I was treating myself to my Mother's Day dinner. I was there Friday to try their Happy Hour. They were short staffed and the person who took my drink order didn't ask about food, so then when she finally came back, I was told it was too late for Happy Hour prices. I told her she never came back in time. She was able to honor the Happy Hour prices after"checking with the kitchen". I ordered the pretzel (which was dry and practically hollow) and the artichoke dip. The dip that came with the pretzel was horrible as was the spinach dip. The only thing edible were the chips that came with the artichoke dip. They lure you in with HH and then seriously disappoint. read more

I am so disappointed in Pooles. We have eaten here for dinner a few times before and we're really pleased. We had family in from out of town and decided to go after church yesterday for breakfast. There were 7 of us so we had to wait for a table. While we were waiting We were told that they were out if shredded hash browns and gravy. They had cubes potatoes available. ( it was 10:30am). we said that was okay. We were seated and had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come take our order. By that time they said that there might not be any potatoes available at all. They would sub a French toast. An hour later they came as said since they were super busy our food was just being plated. No apology just excuses. By this time it is 12:00 and we still did not have our breakfast but they were saying that they had tater tot's they were serving for lunch but it was too late for us to add it to our order or we would have to wait even longer. This was ridiculous. Why did we not get offered the French fries or tater tots earlier when they ran out if breakfast potatoes. My food was cold. If they were just finally plating it, it should have been hot. The sausage link was hard. Like it was leftover from the morning rush and the biscuit was cold like a hockey puck. I have never had a worse experience with worse servers. I do not recommend Pooles for breakfast. But hopefully they are still good for lunch or dinner. read more

Had a birthday party for my father there in the virtual golf area. The food was OK. The server was great, very on top of it. But watch your receipts, they didn't tell us that they were adding 18% gratuity to the checks. I know with that and what I tipped he had an EXTREMELY good night. And I know most of the party tipped more than the 18%. It is on the receipt, but when you're being herded out of the area it could be missed. I think we should have been told when reserving. read more

I had some delicious takeout the other night from here. My husband and and I usually get their Mo Club Burger since we are originally from Missoula. They are absolutely delicious! The cheese curds and fries are also heaven. Tonight I tried the Caesar Salad with chicken and it was perfect. I've had some salads where the chicken is bland or under cooked but the chicken was cooked to perfectly seasoned. The dressing was the best. Not heavy, just right. Breakfast - Ordered the Papa Poole. Asked for crispy bacon. Didn't end up eating it. I'm not a fan of rubbery fat. There was something about the hash browns that took me a while to figure out what the taste was. I realized what it was was the taste of rancid vegetable oil. I was very surprised that the toast did not have butter on it. When I asked for butter and put it on the toast myself, it did not melt. So for breakfast, I ended up eating cold buttered toast and cold eggs. There was no way I could eat the hashbrowns or the bacon. Also while we were sitting there, someone else's order was being brought to them and I noticed that the cheese on top of the omelette was not melted. It didn't look like it was even going to melt. Went for our office Christmas Dinner and they were very accommodating. We were able to call ahead and make a reservation which was nice (last year we had a hard time with this) they had a quiet corner set up for us when we arrived (it was live music night) our waitress was awesome, on the ball, I didn't hear anyone have any issues with wrong orders and the food was great. Just went here for the first time. I had the fish tacos and side salad. They deserved 5 stars. Great freshly made salsa on the side too. Wife had the BLT with chili as the side dish. She raved about both so I tried a bite of both. Yep both were great. The place was quite busy in spite they had a table open and seated us quickly. Our server was attentive and helped us with ordering. I was struggling with what to order. She was kind enough to share what were popular favorites. We both loved our dinners. My only complaint (if you could call it that) was that the beer list doesn't discern what's on tap and what comes in cans. I can buy a can of beer at the local gas station. I was excited to see one of my favorite IPA's on the beer menu only to be disappointed when it arrived in a can. No glass either. So a head's up to other draft beer lovers... make sure to ask "what's on tap". read more

Dropped by after fly fishing. It's bigger than it looks. Three large dining areas and a patio. Excellent vibes. Big screens with sports, jams in the background. Sports memorabilia on the walls, the boys played football at Montana. We had Coor's Lights in frosty mugs, calamari, wings and bacon wrapped jalapeños. You know, good bar food served fast and hot. I hate giving 3 stars, for the food was FABULOUS! Oh mygosh, the prime rib french dip was to die for! I've never had bread so soft attached to meat so lean and yet tender and flavorful! Fries were fantastic too! The downside: I'm going to be brutal. Ryan was a polite and genial waiter. He didn't know who my server would be, but it turned out to be him, the only one in the bar who did not have time to stand around or chat with co workers. Once we were served and well situated, he never paid us any attention. He walked by with one or two empty fry baskets, never glancing around for his other table(s). We watched, so we could flag him. The table next to him was seated, he took drink orders, and never once glanced our way. We were watching because we wanted the check. 10 feet away, and he never. looked. our. way. Finally, I saw him head to the kitchen, went to the loo myself, and when I came out he was at the cash register. I "cornered" him, got my check, signed it in less than a minute, and still had to catch him to turn it in. Rather than no tip, I left $1, which hits the mark closer to home. I've waited tables before, I know what people do to show their lack of appreciation, to not be mistaken for negligence. If it weren't for the lack of service, I'd give 5 stars. read more

Now that we're locked down and bored of my nightly cooking, I decided to try Poole's. It is close to the house and still open for deliveries during the quarantine. Two orders of fish and chips were delivered in a timely fashion. My wife burst into spontaneous laughter as soon as we opened our respective boxes. Hers featured two generous pieces of fish, while mine had one piece about 3/4 the of hers and another half that. The disparity caused us both a bout of laughter but soon I was angered by it. I paid good money for a plate half the size of hers. Insult to injury, this was a delivery so there was no sending it back. Good service, lousy nachos. Am Always hearing such great things about Poole's. We decided to check them out last night. Very crowded, obviously popular. Almost no parking left at 5 pm. The $22 plate of chicken nachos was a plate of mostly dry (but I will concede they were tasty) chips with cheese, chicken bites, green onion and olives layered on the top. The melted cheese had already cooled down by the time we got it. Ate the top layer and brought the rest home to add cheese and reheat so I could finish my dinner. Yelps says 3 stars is "ok" and that's the vibe I got visiting Poole's... meh it's ok. We stopped by this local to us watering hole for lunch on 11/24. They weren't overly busy and we were seated right away. My wife and I both had salads for lunch. Mine was the Buffalo Ranch while her's was the Cobb. The one thing that struck me as odd about the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Salad is that the chicken was cold... and I don't mean luke warm or cooled off too much while waiting to be served, I mean stone cold or from the fridge cold. There's something about Buffalo chicken and cold that don't go together very well. It was ok but I know it would have been better had the chicken been cooked fresh and then put with the salad. The Cobb salad looked ok. My wife said it was ok, but nothing special. The place has a good sports bar type of feel to it and our server was attentive. I don't know. Maybe salads aren't their thing and we'll give it another go in the future but for now, I all I can say is... it's just ok. read more

I appreciated it in a way because mortys did excellent taking care of our 38 people and mortys actually made quite a bit of money that night! Lots of tvs means you always have views of the games on and the food is good for a pub (but seriously, with the beer scene in spokane now, who's isn't?) I met up with a good friend tonight and, at his recommendation, we dropped into Poole's for a bite to eat. I didn't even know this place existed, tucked into a little strip mall off Regal. The place is extremely spacious, plenty of elbow room between tables. This is not an old dive with mediocre bar food. Far from it. The employees were nice, always there if you needed something, but not bothersome. The menu is full of options, so come prepared to make some hard decisions. Try deciding between one of the awesome breakfast menu items, or one of the great selection of burgers, or a specialty item like Cottage Pie. Good luck! I settled on the Whiskey burger and it was AWESOME! These burgers are big, so come with an appetite. Lots of flavor, grilled onions, crispy bacon, oh yeah! As we were leaving, the place got slammed. Poole's is my favorite place in town. There is literally always a friendly face there - either your friends or the staff - and great drink specials during happy hour. They also have an amazing list of moscow mules for you to choose from, including my personal fave, the Ruby Red. Brunch has discounted mimosas (I think $3) on the weekend and you can get a giant "Griz" - eggs, sausage, southern style gravy, cheese etc - to top off your weekend! read more

Used to love this place but the last three times we have went service has gotten worse along with the food. One day we sat at the bar and had to listen to the bartender complain about the other servers then plays on his phone whilst our beers were empty, talk about the kettle calling the pot black. I think mom and dad need to step in more often on a surprise basis.
