We went with a limoncello Spritz - cause tis the season - and a black walnut old fashioned because they make their own syrup. The spritz - sweeter than expected but not offensive. The old fashioned - offensive. Very offensive. I've drank hundreds of old fashioneds - and this one wa without a doubt the worst. Cloyingly sweet, no balance, and a weird aftertaste. A two sip wonder. The egg rolls were tasty! Nicely fried and not oily at all. The service was also...rough. Maybe they weren't expecting folks to want patio time and didn't staff accordingly. Time from seating to ordering over 5 minutes, no acknowledgement of the barely touched drink once we were able to ask for the check (another feat in patience), and had to walk the check up to the bar to cash out. Tonight I had the opportunity to try South Perry Lantern for Inlander Restaurant Week. My friend and I had originally planned on arriving at 6PM, but I had heard earlier would probably be better. Well, I think everyone heard the same thing. My friend and I arrived at about 5:40 and there was at least a 15 minute wait for a table or we could sit at the bar or along the windows. We opted to wait for a table. By 6:30, there were several open tables. Since I and my friend had already checked out the Restaurant Week menu, ordering was quick and easy. We started with one of their featured cocktails. My friend chose their Perry Old Fashioned, made with Four Roses Bourbon and I went with their Espresso Martini, made with Browne Family Andy's Farm Vodka, caramel simple syrup, house-brewed cold brew and served in a frosted martini glass. Both were made well. For appetizers and entrees, we ordered the same thing. Ahi Poke Nachos and Pork Belly and Scallops. We enjoyed the appetizer. We've both had poke before, but to have it on crispy wonton chips was a great twist. The poke had great flavor and the sauces were tasty. The Pork Belly and Scallop entree was phenomenal! The flavors worked so well together and the scallops were absolutely perfect. I truly think they should add this dish to their every day menu. For desserts, I went with the chocolate covered bacon. It was served with a perfect raspberry compote. I had it boxed up to bring home, and I got to talking and ended up leaving it on the table. I was quite sad when I realized I wouldn't have that tasty dessert for tomorrow. My friend went with their fresh, made in house, apple fritter with vanilla ice cream. She said it tasted really good. The space is nice. I really enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming back when Restaurant Week is over. read more

I needed a snack before grocery shopping. I picked South Perry Lantern and was happy with my choice. I moved here from Wisconsin, and the cheese curds I had at Wisconsin Burger were disappointing. The ones here were yummy and the perfect snack. I had to ask for Ranch, and they were happy to sub out their marinara. Score. I also got the "house bubbles," and I was thrilled by my $6 glass of bliss. It tasted like a Prosecco, but it was so crisp and refreshing I didn't bother to ask. I sat outside on their lovely patio. My husband and I stopped in for the first time Saturday at lunchtime. Ordered the Mac and Cheese, expecting an okay meal. This was the best mac and cheese I have had. No bread crumbs to dry it out, just rich and super creamy with no shortage of crumbly bacon and melty cheese. The crispy chicken on top was a bit dry, but it was an aside to the main attraction. Opening night food was spectacular. We ordered the Philly Egg Rolls, Duck Dip and Korean Ramen. The egg rolls are to die for. I will order those every time! They come with house made ranch dip with is delicious. The duck dip was smoky and tender with crispy bread. And the dip stayed hot until the end. The fries are also delicious. The ramen was beautifully presented with a just done soft boiled egg in the center. The flavors were superb. The staff was so friendly and attentive. They have so many great beers and ciders on tap. Found this place on accident when nearby restaurants were over capacity. I had my dog in tow and the outdoor seating was remote when I arrived (great for lunch with my over energetic dog when seeing other animals). Food was great. I ordered the ramen bowl and my counterpart had a great burger. Dog was happy also. Very nice of the team to provide a water bowl and say hello to doggie. There were 9 wings, again for $18.00. No thought on presentation. It took forever to get plates. This item is included in the shareable section. The dry rub was oddly sandy, like the beach. Terrible mouth feel. Weird flavorless ranch, and insipid blue cheese did not do any favors either. This dish should had been under $10.00 bucks at best. If you are going to charge $18.00 for wings put some effort into presentation, PLEASE. This is a one and done for us. Just cross the street and the food is amazing. read more

Same as my Google review... First off, this restaurant was allowed to open up without being ADA compliant. The original Lantern had a ramp so customers could access the restroom with ease, from inside the building & they had indoor, accessible seating. When I called to double check for accessibility, I was told they are working on it. All seating inside the building was bar height. In order to access the restroom, from inside, you'd have to exit the building & enter through another door. Not only a complete failure on the owners part, but what the hell was the City of Spokane thinking allowing them to open, after a complete remodel, without accessibility? This is flat out against the law! This alone is cause for ZERO stars. read more

I started by ordering a Manny's (beer). The beer was warm and flat. I've never had that happen before. Nothing on the menu looks appealing. It's like they're trying to be too fancy with bar food. Just tame it down a bit. I finally went with the Philly egg rolls and they were subpar. I'm super disappointed since this was my favorite local place to frequent prior to the reopening. Sat at the bar last night, had a fantastic meal and some delish beverages! First we ordered Not Wings, fried cauliflower - So Good! We ordered ours with dry rub and sauce on the side (Buffalo & Sweet Chili). We then ordered a burger with BACON JAM & dill havarti cheese- Wow, great flavors. Really good fries too. We also had some great beverages- a nice Rosé Dry Cider! And a killer Cadillac Margarita, they make their own mixer. Happily finishing our meal we said "Isn't it fun to be hungry!" I went in for a soft opening event yesterday and gave their brunch a try as well as a couple of apps like the Philly Egg roll. First off the space is looks amazing, they did an awesome job of cleaning and updating the space but hanging on to some of the original South. Perry charm. The brunch was excellent, I had bites of the Blintz, Brunch Charcuterie (silver dollar pancakes with fruit) Tuscan Benedict, and the Classic Breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfect, portions were great, lots of flavor and a variety of items. The pics of the Benedict do not do it justice. The apps were awesome as well. We scarfed those down before I could get a pic. I am really excited to stop in with the kids after playin over at Grant Park! read more
