We came in for lunch and it was pretty slow inside. We were quickly greeted by a very nice bartender/waitress and brought drinks soon after. Lunch was ordered and it took quite some time to come out. Like we'll over 1/2 hour. Again it was a pretty empty place. My burger was finally brought out and about 5 minutes later my wife's wrap was delivered. The burger was relatively small with a heated from frozen, lower quality patty. It was also cooked to well done. The bun, and trimmings were actually very good, so an improvement on the burger itself would be good. The wrap was very good with good quality chicken, and fresh greens inside. The southwest sauce was very good. We both liked the fries, but they would have been better if delivered hotter than just above room temperature. The single bartender was working the house and it did get busier after our food was delivered. As a result refills weren't offered until our meal was finished. read more

Wondering why the waiter/bartender said that they dont allow dogs in the building when the dog is clearly marked as a service dog. Then a customer chimed in and said that the service dog is not properly marked and he works for code enforcement. The employees need to be brought up to date on ADA service dog compliance. read more

My husband and I went here to have dinner and a few drinks before going to see a movie. I'll keep this straight to the point. The good: The Service was good. Once we were greeted (10-15min after sitting down) the service was great. The waitress was kind, patient, and as attentive as we needed her to be. I order the Greek chicken salad with grilled chicken, dressing on the side. I was pleased with this salad - it was a good size, could have been more chicken for the price, but it wasn't a bad sized portion and it was delicious. The dressing especially was scrumptious! The bad: My husband got the nachos with ground beef and they were not so great. Nachos are hard and most places do them wrong (which is why we never order them) and this place was no exception. All the toppings were put in the center of the chips so the chips to toppings ratio was terrible. Also, they just use shredded cheddar cheese - not queso or any other softer cheese - so the cheese cools and hardens. Then whatever chip you do find with toppings on it loses everything when you pick it up because the cheese is hard and pulls everything off. The place was also dirty. The menus were sticky, the floor had what looked like days worth of food droppings, hair, and whatever else had fallen off people still on it and under our table. The bathroom was no exception. Their was hair and some kind of splatter on the toilet seat, no toilet seat covers, and no soap. Which is concerning - how the employees are washing their hands before returning to work... without soap. But then again, it is a bar so maybe it's to be expected? It wasn't terrible, but it also isn't somewhere I think we will visit often. If we even choose to go again. read more

Birdy's is a decent sports bar. It gets loud and quite busy, which I am not a fan of, but that's probably just due to the tall industrial ceilings that are popular in these type of places. Took our friends here on a whim when they were in town a few weeks ago, we were looking for a place with a relaxed setting, reasonable prices and of course, drinks. We have lived only a few blocks away for three years but had never tried it until then-- wow, we're so glad we did! We went for breakfast today. Like supporting local....excited that more places are offering breakfast. Limited menu...I think 4 choices, which was fine. No toast with breakfast...still ok. I felt price was too high for what we received. Hubby had the scramble (which we usually love) but he was not excited about the way the hash browns were served...no toast, smaller portion, $12 I had the chicken fried steak which was pretty crunchy and the steak itself was a bit grisly.....no toast....eggs "ok"......gravy was good...potato patties (like you get at Arby's....did it say that on the menu?) $14 AND....one guy doing everything; taking orders, serving, making drinks, we had to wait while others were waited on even though we got there first. Nice guy....but too much for one guy plus a cook making ALL of the orders. Although, our breakfast came pretty quickly. Might have felt better if prices had been lower in comparing to other breakfast places we go to regularly. Lots of TV's for football. We still like lunch, would go there for drinks...but we would not have breakfast again. We did have a Bloody Mary that had lots of "stuff" in it...but not very tasty. read more

Went there for the first time yesterday. Maddie was our server and John was bartending. Both were friendly and amiable. We sat outside, even though it was warm and smoky. Despite that, and us being the only ones outside, Maddie repeatedly checked on us and made sure we had a good experience. I had just planned to have the salad, but it turned out wings are the special on Thursdays. Both the salt and pepper and Carolina Gold (?) were delicious. The Carolina sauce is mustard based, tangy and not too sweet. The salad had a bit more dressing than I would have liked but they were very generous with the blue cheese, dries cranberries and walnuts. If I could I would give a 4.5 rating. But because of the positive experience the servers gave it was more fair to round up than down. I will go back. read more

I've been to Birdys dozens of times over the years! Best wings in town. Don't come at me with Flaming Joes, Wing stop and certainly not Bdubs. Birdy's wings are the best. The Carolina Gold sauce is fantastic. Another favorite is the cheese steaks. I've honestly never had a single bad meal here. We like to go on Thursdays for .65 wing night. Now the wings are quite as good on this night bc of the shear number of wings that are cooked. The oil temp is obviously fluctuating considerably which will undoubtedly have some effect of the quality. But the wings are still very, very good. They have a ton of TVs, great beer selections, outdoor fire pit and simply a good atmosphere. Birdy's is basically one of the 4 restaurants I frequent including 1898, Twigs and Wasabi. We did curbside here. It's a nice bar inside and I like the way their outside seating looks. I ordered a bacon burger with cheese and specifically asked them to leave some pink in it. It was dried out and very well done. If it had been cooked better it probably would've been pretty good. Everything else on the burger tasted good. We also did Gorgonzola fries which were very rich but good. I think we could've just ordered these! My husband got fish and chips and said it was good. It wasn't in a heavy batter which he liked. We went for apps and drinks after hitting the movie theater. The patio area is very nice and relaxing. The drinks were good, as were the nachos we ordered. It was odd though... we still had a pile of tasty nachos left, the waitress comes up, says "no one can finish these!", picks up the nachos and our plates and walks away. No asking if we were done.
