We…read morestumbled upon this spot, saw the playground, and decided to give the mini golf course a try--and I'm glad we did. The course itself is cute and has a charming, almost homemade feel to it. It's not overly polished, but that's part of the appeal. There were several creative obstacles and challenges that we hadn't seen at other mini golf spots, which kept things interesting and fun throughout the round. After golf, we checked out the arcade. There was a good variety of games, and my son was definitely entertained, which is always a win. It felt like a well-rounded spot for a casual outing. The restrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly enough--nothing over the top, but perfectly pleasant. One thing that did take away from the experience a bit was the number of very young kids running around unsupervised. I'm talking maybe 4 years old or so, and they kept interrupting our game. As a parent, I completely understand how challenging it can be to keep an eye on little ones, but I'm also a bit competitive, so it definitely threw off my groove. Not the venue's fault, just something to be aware of--there may be some tiny, energetic free spirits roaming around. Also, while it was a warm day, it wasn't quite as cool as I expected it to be, which made it a little less comfortable than ideal. Overall, though, it's a fun, family-friendly spot with a unique mini golf course and enough activities to keep kids entertained. I'd come back--just maybe with slightly lower expectations for personal space on the course.

The cruise of lights is put on by Orange County's Philharmonic Society. Tickets were $26 per person and the proceeds go to youth musical education programs. Not too expensive and for a good cause, I'm in! We met in a plaza, where they took you by school bus to the yacht club to get on the cruise. Everything ran so smoothly, from check in, the bus ride, and until arriving at the dock. My group, and the people in my line had come early. There was a line that later formed next to us as people trickled in later, closer to show time and even late! Yet, they all got on the boat first. My line was left getting on an already full boat with what looked like only poor seating was left. I didn't think this was really fair as we'd braved the cold for much longer. They were really trying to get a few more of us on the full boat. I tried to keep the holiday spirit but was not getting on that boat. Other in line expressed that they were not happy either and none of us wanted to get on the full boat. We were all able to get on the next boat :) It also said that there would be Christmas music and there was! It was fun, there was a live local high school band performing for us in line at the dock. Christmas music was also played on the boat. It also stated that there would be a narrated tour, but I will say it got a little awkward some bits, there were few giggles and wandering eyes. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't a description of the decorated homes like "on your right is a home decorated with white lights and red bows". I do wish more homes participated, there were even times where we were left in dark, because of how dark a certain area was! This doesn't count against Cruise of Lights though, just a thought on what to expect. Despite those little tiffs, everything was still enjoyable. Even the fog cleared up so we could see everything better. Although a little unorganized, there were many staff members directing, and all were very nice. The cruise definitely got us in the mood for Christmas! Would I do this again? I would, like I said it is inexpensive and it goes to a good cause, they mean well. I'd do it again, but with so many other Christmas events/activities available, Cruise of Lights probably won't be at the very top of my list.

I walked into a space that is smaller than some larger Japanese gardens, but the layout feels carefully planned with winding paths, traditional landscaping, a koi pond, waterfalls, bridges, and quiet corners throughout. It is the type of place where taking your time matters more than trying to see everything quickly, and the smaller size actually makes the experience feel more intimate. The garden feels like a world apart from the campus surrounding it, and the transition from the university grounds to the garden is immediate and effective. The koi pond is easily the centerpiece of the garden and one of the most enjoyable parts to spend time around. I found myself lingering by the water, watching the fish move through the pond as the sunlight filtered through the trees. The fish are large and active, and the surrounding greenery, stone features, and water elements create a very relaxing atmosphere. The garden does a good job balancing natural scenery with traditional Japanese design, with each section offering a slightly different view and feeling as I walked through. The bridges and stone lanterns add to the sense of place, and the sound of the waterfalls creates a calming background that stays with you as you move through the space. What I liked most about this garden is how calm it feels despite being located on a college campus. It feels separated from the surrounding area once you enter, making it a nice place for a quiet walk, photography, or just taking a break. The landscaping is well maintained, and the entire space has a slower pace that encourages you to actually stop and appreciate the details rather than rushing through. The garden's design rewards a slow approach, with each turn in the path offering a slightly different perspective on the pond, the plants, and the stonework. The visit is fairly quick since the garden is compact, but it works well as a relaxing stop rather than a destination that takes up an entire afternoon. Reservations are required, so it is worth checking availability before going. Admission is free, although parking is an extra cost and can be the main inconvenience, especially during busy campus hours. The garden's location on campus makes it accessible, but the parking situation can require a bit of patience. Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a beautiful spot if you are looking for a peaceful escape rather than a large attraction. The koi pond, thoughtful design, and quiet atmosphere make it a place worth visiting, especially on a nice day when you can take your time walking through the garden. It offers a brief but meaningful pause from the surrounding city and campus life, and the care that has gone into maintaining the space is evident in every corner.

This is located within the Westminster mall, on the second floor occupying a pretty large space. I came to this location because the Groupon I had only worked here and not at the Alhambra location. The worker at the location was nice and took care of my Groupon. She gave us a basket for our tokens. She mentioned that this is probably the largest Kawaii Klaws location out of all the another areas. There are easily 30+ different claw machines in this location. There was enough variety in plushies among the machines, but I wish they had more as there were a lot of commonalities among Sanrio and a lot of bunny inspired plushies. We left with 4 plushies on this visit, the staff working their was friendly and she said she loved my bf's and my energy which I thought was so lovely of her to mention...I asked her name but forgot but she was really sweet. If you're looking for a place to kill time and want to try and score some cute plushies this is the place!

I had the Tokyo Yakisiba spicy noodles with egg and it was so good (it was worth the wait). You can see Happy Man cooking the food and spreading his happiness.
