I don't know how this place doesn't have many more reviews but this is such a cute spot to take kids or even a date to if they're into all these cute stuffed animals! They have a great variety, and the claw isn't weak, although it did take a few times on some machines to get a winning, I think that could be from the prize being a little heavy. Overall, I think the price is good a dollar per try, they had good music going on, a good amount of customers in there, even though it's in a mall that's slowly closing down. I've been to this places' Alhambra location, however that one pales in size next to Westminster's location. This is located within the Westminster mall, on the second floor occupying a pretty large space. I came to this location because the Groupon I had only worked here and not at the Alhambra location. The worker at the location was nice and took care of my Groupon. She gave us a basket for our tokens. She mentioned that this is probably the largest Kawaii Klaws location out of all the another areas. There are easily 30+ different claw machines in this location. There was enough variety in plushies among the machines, but I wish they had more as there were a lot of commonalities among Sanrio and a lot of bunny inspired plushies. We left with 4 plushies on this visit, the staff working their was friendly and she said she loved my bf's and my energy which I thought was so lovely of her to mention...I asked her name but forgot but she was really sweet. The front desk staff were on their phones when we walked in and didn't say anything to us--not a huge deal, but a friendly "hello" would've been nice. Had a five star experience with their Buena Park location, so I stopped by this location at the Westminster mall as I had an hour to kill. Overall, I think it's fun. Won five plushies with my $20 (see pictures for my haul). With yelp check in, ended up getting 24 tokens for $20 (normal rate is 22 tokens for $20 and 2 bonus tokens for check in). They do give an extra three tokens if you write a review. I didn't try take advantage of this offer, but this is why there's the yelp warning for "suspicious reviews". Compared to my experience at the other locations, the difference was that employees felt more helpful elsewhere. Your miles will likely vary with talking to staff and asking for help. If you really want to come home with plushies, then you'll have to choose your machines wisely. There was a batman and pikachu plush that I liked, but I left behind. If you get too emotional and you go for plushies that are packed in deep, then you'll just get frustrated. Two important notes: 1) The quality of the plushies are nice, but they do not appear to be official licensed products. (If you look at the picture of my haul, you'll see the blue hello kitty plush has "helle kitty" written on its foot). I'm fine with this as my main priority was to have fun; however, it's relevant to note. 2) If you cherry pick for easy plushies, you could trade them in for larger plushies that are positioned behind the front counter. The mall entrance by Luxe buffet stays open for you to go to Kawaii Klaws. They have a TON of machines! All the plushies are super adorable. It seems all the machine is 1 token and 1 token is $1! I took my son for something to do and used a Groupon. The mall is dead no normal stores only a few weird stores. Its good tho if you want your kids to run around an abandoned mall. There is no AC in mall so be aware. The kawaii klaws itself was just ok. You are likely to get a toy but the klaws are rigged. 5x we clearly had the stuff animal and then the klaw just opens. And then another time the klaw didn't even drop down all the way it dropped like 2 inches and went back up. So definitely not worth it if I didn't have the Groupon. We were able to get 2 stuffies though probably by luck. The place itself is cute and most of the stuffies are cute so I'll give a star for that. Overall would not return unless I had a Groupon. They are located at Westminster mall so parking was easy to find given that this mall doesn't get that much foot traffic. Inside, it was pretty big with lots of machines to choose from. It's one token per play and the claws here are not rigged and can hold a good grip. They have a good variety of cute plushies from Sanrio to anime but they're not authentic, just something to keep in mind. I still had fun though and I won a couple plushies. Something might be going on in Westminster mall as it seemed that Kawaii Klaws was one of the few places not perspiring to shut down. I definitely recommend going over if looking for a fun activity. At $1 per game, who wouldn't want to try their luck with a crane game? (Don't forget to checkin for 2 extra shillings!) Staff is very polite. The girl at the register was apologetic as they couldn't exchange coins for us because we were a little early. They have token machines but they only accepted cash at the time. It's in a pretty dead small and difficult to get to because some of the mall esculators don't run and some stairways are taped off. We had an amazing experience. We wanted to take our son for his bday surprise because he loves claw machines. At first, it was hard to find because like the other reviews, it was in the deserted Westminster Mall. But, I liked that there weren't that many people there. The service was great. The machines at this location sucks. Even if youre lucky enough to grab a stuffed animal - the machine will shake so hard that it'll fall down anyways. Each game is a token which is a $1. Claws are a bit flimsy so your tokens can easily be gone, but we always leaving at least with a prize. Bought 20 tokens which took us about 30 mins to play if you take your time. If you sign up for their rewards program, they will send you extra tokens for your loyalty visiting their business. This location is inside the rundown mall of Westminster. I'm really surprised they even opened a location here considering there's nothing left of this mall. All that aside, this place is pretty big. Lots of machines & cool prizes however I felt like the claws here and pretty flimsy and loose. We've gone to the West Covina location and the claws there grip very well. However here at Westminster, we noticed a lot of the machines would grab the toys just fine but as it goes up, and hits the top, it swings and will drop it.
