This place is a gem. A true find for any lover of art toys/crazy t shirts, bags, and other clothing. Both my girl friend and I would have walked out with arm loads of stuff if we had the $. Alas even with the high price of unique/obscure merch, this place is soo much fun. Plus the staff is great! It's a good sign when the art reprints that they sell are of good visual style quality and not the usual boring art. They also support local artists, but not in the case where just because they are local... I have gone through all the works and was pretty impressed by their taste in artwork. Ranging in styles and artists. The apparel is limited but you can still get a good find of you are in the right place at the right time. I would be on the tap for "what and when" for restock or new stock. The collectible toys are self explanatory. The books are not only rich in art but some of informative literature... Not your library type stuff. If you could mix an urban outfitters with kid robot and a anime warehouse with a Spencer's, you would make a "POP MONSTER"... "It's alive!!!" read more

This place has everything for any collector, fanboy or fangirl, weaboo, or art buff. It carries thousands of designer toys from popular amines (one piece, attack on Titan, etc) to toy makers like Kid Robot. I was instantly thrilled walking in to see the walls plastered with so many unique characters and also clothing. I really like visiting this shop and the shopkeeper is this really friendly old dude who makes you feel comfortable. I have no complaints, visiting this shop has always been a treat. read more

My favorite store by far! I honestly can't stop going to this place...especially since they restock all the time, everytime i go theres something new to see...i just bought a book there by my favorite artist, and i cant believe they carried it. His work is so rare, his stuff is actually really hard to come by.. Even though this store is small, it has so much flavor as far as the content goes, it is just divine. I really sort of appreciate all the effort that goes into this store...there are contests, art signings, exhibitions held for some really talented upcoming and sort of underground artists...which is great cause they offer something new. I like that they carry litterally like, everything. hats jewelry tees art vinyls wallets...especially those of toki doki and threadless to david choe books. Many of which I found to be cheaper than if i drove to melrose or somethinggg and plus there are like huge sales sometimes, which is also awesome.. Things are very fairly priced, especially the tees and a lot of the art(my fave) ..its clean, updated and has great customer service...very knowledgeable and dedicated to finding your specific cravings of artsy merchandise.. I've been to Munkey king, Giant Robot, kid robot...you know, the whole schpiel...they are SO far and ive never felt fully comfortable being in those stores i think...you know, awkward spacey or unkempt or not so great cust service...well whatev. i think popmonster is just fun and i really get lost in all of the glory that they offer there. i can be there for hours and not complain because they just have so much depth to a little store. i have truly become a fan. read more

The owner is nice. Lots of neat gadgets and clothing I would LOVE to buy. I have bought a couple times here. I'm not sure if they know but all of their Anime figurines are bootlegs. I would avoid buying those. The rest of the merchandise that I know of are all authentic. read more

Very cute store that carries vinyl toys (blind boxes etc.), tokidoki products, some art prints and various other Japanese goods. Price point is a bit on the high side, but then again, most of the items are straight from japan and not something you could easily find anywhere else (example: my cousin picked up a totoro origami kit), some of the vinyls displayed in the cases seemed a bit dusty...but the storeowner is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. Good spot if you're too lazy to drive all the way to the LA/Fairfax area to get your vinyl needs met. read more

Super friendly owner. Lots of cool Tokidoki collab items to snag. I'm not well-versed on what's collectible/hard-to-find stuff, but they have tons of cools items to check out. On my quest for a specific unicorno during one visit, though, I found the owner to be SUUUUUUUUPER helpful. He shared all of his insights as to how the die-hard shadow-box collectors end up snagging their coveted/missing piece. Just ask him. One bone to pick -- was that on every visit, I found their hours to be a bit wonky -- handwritten sign on the door saying they'll be closed for 3 hours for inventory, signage says they're open at (blank), but they showed up 30 minutes later, etc. Don't know if this is a consistent thing -- but thought I'd mention this and advise anyone intent on checking out this place to actually phone-in ahead and make sure nothing is up. read more

This store sells a variety of things from Threadless tshirts to Tokidoki bags to blindboxes. They always have so many different things in there, since they seem to have new shipments in every week. Plus, they usually have good sales going on. They recently had a sale on a new Tokidoki blindbox that had just come out for about 20% off. That's definitely cheaper than you'd find it anywhere else! Plus, the owner and staff are super nice and always willing to help give gift ideas or to answer questions. The store also holds competitions and usually throws parties at the end of each one with free food and free raffles. Pop Monster is really friendly to local artists and I've seen a few local artist's have art shows there or have their work up for sale. Overall, I'd say, definitely stop by the store if you have a chance. read more

Pop Monster is the type of unique store that the South Bay needs, and strangely enough, it's located in the middle of a small, sleepy strip of stores across from the Torrance Crossroads shopping center. The owner is earnest and friendly and is genuinely interested in helping the customer find the perfect item(s) out of the eclectic assortment of vinyl and plush toys, art books, gadgets and gizmos, and even jewelry and wallets/bags. For a small store, it actually carries a lot of different pieces, and I'm amazed at how the owner manages to keep up with all the trends. For those who may not have the time or the energy to brave the traffic to go to LA proper or go to Comic-Con in San Diego, Pop Monster brings a little bit of the indie art/toy market to you. It's a fun shop to browse, and you'll inevitably find something you want for yourself or to give as a gift. read more

I have been coming to this store for at least a couple of years now. The employees are friendly and knowledgable, and their selection is great. They have a variety of clothing, toys, blind boxes, trinkets, art and jewelry. They seem to really listen to the community and hold community events which I think helps keep them on the pulse of current trends. One of my favorite features of this store is their display cabinet they let customers use free of charge. Customers can sell or trade toys from blind boxes they purchased in the store to complete their collection or get the toy they had hoped to get. I have had luck with this cabinet and think it is a great service to their customers. Overall I am pleased with the way they run this store and always look here first for toys and similar items. read more

Everytime I go there, I spend like, 30 minutes looking around at all of the things the have there, from chocolate smelling calculators, to 10 inch or so figurines.
